Kristen Smith has been married to her husband Heath, pastor of Alpha Baptist Church in Morristown, TN, for six years. They are parents to two boys, ages 4 and 2. Transitioning out of one ministry and into the next is one of the most challenging aspects of the pastor wife life and it’s one that 99.99% will probably experience at least once. Lisa Dingle is not just a pastor’s wife and mom, she is also the program supervisor for a social services program with a master’s degree in psychology. In today’s episode, Lisa shares her story of finding herself and her then-fiance (and spoiler alert: now husband) in a toxic relationship with a narcissistic pastor. Although it nearly destroyed Lisa and John’s relationship, twenty years later she is thankful for all that she learned about who God is through that season and how it propelled her into the mental health field where she is serving and helping others today.
