This is a replay of one of the TOP downloads from 2020. It is still sooo relevantI want to chat about your adrenals and how important your adrenals are. A lot of people don't understand what adrenals are and what they do. So adrenals are on top of your kidneys, and adrenals help you fight or flight or freeze whenever there's an attack, whenever there's something scary. We need our adrenals, and our adrenals help us doing a lot. Toward the end of 2016, I got a five point Salivary Cortisol test, and that just tells us the cortisol is secreted by your adrenals, and it helps you deal with life. If you're in special situation, it goes up and you deal with the situation and then it goes down. And normally, if you look at your cortisol levels, normally it should be peaking when you wake up in the morning, so that when you wake up you're like, "Yes. Go, go, go, go" without the coffee. I used to be like that. I used to, but I'm getting better, Haha. And so anyway, I was waking up really flat. I was waking up ... I didn't even have the energy to take a shower. I'm actually feeling tired and depressed, And I'm thinking, "Oh no, …Download & Listen for the Rest of the Story! How to Support the Mission of the Show?1. This is a replay of one of the TOP downloads from 2020. It is still sooo relevant to today's world situation. In this episode, let's talk about how to be a bubble buddy in the pandemic or any kind of wild and crazy situation that happens in your life. Now we probably need to explain a little bit for everyone outside of New Zealand. What the bubble buddy or what is a bubble, because not everybody uses the bubble term. Alright, so what's a bubble buddy? Well, here in New Zealand we are NOT in lockdown level four anymore, which means you need to stay at home. You're supposed to stay at home and you can go for a walk or a run or a bike ride around the block or you know, just stay close. You're not allowed to get into the car.  You can go to emergencies, essential services, like if you've got to go to the doctor or if you've got to go get food, but essentially that's about it. And you're supposed to stay in your bubble. Your bubble is the people that you're living with. So Michael and I have been in our bubble now for how long? A few weeks, and we're still alive. We want to talk about being bubble buddies and respecting your bubble. And also, because this won't be the only time this happens to any of us in our lives. I mean, there'll be situations where we might just have to be all together for whatever reason, and we're in close quarters and we have to respect those close quarters and, so having said that word, what do you think about the word RESPECT? LISTEN FOR THE REST OF THE STORY!How to Support the Mission of the Show?1. Let me introduce Dr. Kelly Head ND, she is a dear friend of mine now because she has helped me greatly and helping understand Hormones.  Dr. Kelly is a board certified naturopath doctor in Portland, Oregon, and an educator in hormone testing and women's health. She is a clinical consultant for precision analytical, the company who makes the Dutch Test, which if you're unfamiliar is a test that offers one of the most comprehensive hormone panels available on the market today. Dr. Kelly has a primary role is to educate health practitioners on how to interpret their patients Dutch hormone test results, and she absolutely adores helping these practitioners learn about how the Dutch Test, which can help shed light on their patient's symptoms,  often include heavy bleeding cramping, acne in fertility, mood swings, depression, hot flashes, exhaustion, insomnia, low sex drive, difficulty losing, and so much more. With the Urine testing, we do have a lot of research showing that the Urine estrogen and progesterone is very, very similar to what's happening in the blood, unlike a blood test where you get that snapshot of the estrogen and the progesterone at that specific time during the day, the urine testing is nice because you get more of an average or more of a comprehensive look at your hormones over the course of the entire collection period, which was about a day's worth of data.Download & Listen for the Whole Story!and you can follow Dr. Kelly on IG  @drkellyhead and the website is https://dutchtest.comHow to Support the Mission of the Show?1. Have you ever seen an oyster shell without an oyster inside, and wondered how that happened ?Look for a small hole on the top of the shell made by a Whelk! This little creature has an appendage that works like a drill. It drills a hole in the oyster shell and sucks out the oyster, little by little, until it has sucked out the entire oyster. Today, we’re going to talk about Valleys of Life and our Self Talk. Have you ever struggled with your self talk? Are you consistent at talking nicely to yourself? What kind of things do you find yourself saying to yourself? Let me just tell you a little bit about who I am. I’m Isabel and I’m living here in New Zealand. I graduated in 1991 as a medical doctor from the University of Colorado Medical School. At the moment, I have been working on Doctor on a Mission. Before I graduated from medical school, I used to say things like, “You will never make it Isabel. You are such a loser” or things like, “You’ll never get the weight off” or “You’ll never become a doctor”, you know, “you’re not good at math”. Life is full of ups and downs, right? Everybody likes having a beginning where they have a vision of where they are going and people love it when they get to the top of their goal. But nobody likes the change and the struggle. When we’re in the valley, we’ve got a choice to make. The choice is -are you going to starve your doubt and feed your faith? Or, are you going to starve your faith and feed your doubt? Whatever you feed will grow. When the storms of your life happen, bend but don’t break. Know that you will be stronger because of it and you will get skills, and you will get the mindset that you can make it through anything in your life.Another thing I want you to learn about is to shine the light on your self-limiting beliefs. You always have a choice. Say something like “I take control of my life and I am going to find a way. I am going to do this afraid.  I will figure this out,” and become responsible for your success. Don’t rely on anybody else to make you successful. You got to do the work.PLAY, WATCH, and LISTEN FOR THE REST OF THE STORY!How to Support the Mission of the Show?1. The Blessing Tool

The Blessing Tool

2020-09-1520:14

Hello and welcome. I'm Dr. Isabel MD, and welcome to the podcast. In this podcast, I am so excited about sharing with you something that's so dear and near to my heart. It's about God's blessings. I call this the blessing tool.Let me ask you a question, do you love getting presents? You know, they're all wrapped up, they have ribbons, sometimes they have sparkles, and sometimes they have really cool things hanging off of them, and that shiny paper. And not just for Christmas, any day of the year. Well, I do too. I love getting presents. Here's what I want you to understand. God's nature is to bless you and to bless you all the time, and blessing means giving you presents, giving you good things that make you smile, that make your heart jump up and down and just be happy. There's a fable about St. Peter, who welcomes this man at heaven's gate. Let's just call the man Michael. Okay? Michael is so excited to be in heaven, and St. Peter wants to show Michael around. However, Michael has something else in mind. He's walking down the street. Yes, there are streets in heaven, at least with this fable, and he sees this big, shiny long warehouse. And he says, "St. Peter, let's go in there." And St. Peter says, "No, I don't think you really want to go in there, Michael," but Michael insists and he runs down the road and bursts in through the doors. What he sees is rows upon rows of stacked boxes with red ribbons on each and every one of them, in alphabetical order with ... Download & Listen for the Rest of the Story! How to Support the Mission of the Show?1. Welcome. I'm so thrilled we're going to be talking about this particular topic. It's about relationships. You see, in functional medicine, we look at relationships and how that affects your well-being. And we all are wired to be connected to other people. We seek the company of other people. If you think about it, when we're isolated and lonely, we tend to get depressed and anxious. And if you look back, back in our ancestral times, being isolated meant that you were very, very susceptible to attack. Well, think of it now in 2020. We are isolated. We start feeling anxious and depressed, and it's because we don't have connections.I mean, how many of ...Download and Listen for the Rest of the Story! How to Support the Mission of the Show?1. Well, in this episode we are going to be talking about how to be together 40 years and more. Why would we be doing that? Well, just recently, we celebrated the anniversary of being together for 40 years. Yes. We were kindergarten sweethearts. HahaToday we want to give you five tips, five tips that we've learned through some wisdom of looking back on those 40 years. Well, how did we do it? Because even our kids say, "You guys have been together for 40 years?" And we want to do another 40-plus.So, tip number one is R-E-S-P-E-C-T! It's respect. Respect is so important. We weren't very good at the beginning, but now we've gotten really, really good. At the beginning, especially when you're young, you're a little not emotionally developed, shall I say? However, I do want to say something about respect here.I can say with 100% truthfulness in 40-plus years, I have never in another setting said anything disrespectful about my beautiful wife, Isabel. You know whether it's a bunch of girls being together, a bunch of guys being together, how you hear it all the time, bashing their spouses. Well, not everybody. People fall into that trap of bashing the spouses.I like to play golf. I like to play sports. You tend to be playing sports with a bunch of guys, and if it turns to women and wives, you hear this stuff about, "Oh, my wife ..." and this and that, I can honest say that just because I ... If I had a problem or something we needed to talk about and I wasn't happy, we would talk about it.It wasn't like I would just be like, "Oh, yeah, my wife, she is such a blah blah blah."That is so disrespectful. And that's very disrespectful as far as ........ Download & Listen to the Rest of the Story! How to Support the Mission of the Show?1. Adrenal Fatigue?

Adrenal Fatigue?

2020-08-1017:12

I want to chat about your adrenals and how important your adrenals are. I am so glad you're here. Today we're going to talk about four self care practices to enhance your healthy lifestyle. In functional/integrative medicine, the goal is to get the foundation right. Because when you get the foundation right, then you can build your house. Whereas, conventional medicine just kind of sees a little crack in the wall and says, hmm, we'll put this band-aid on that. Not so with functional/integrative medicine. We want to get the foundation right, so that the house will stand. And that's the way the best health care is going to be. I see functional/integrative medicine as the way healthcare is going to be within the next 10 to 20 years. It's going to be commonplace. In this sesion, we're going to be talking about the four self care practices so that you live a long, healthy life. I love teaching people how to become the CEO of their health.Research shows that people who take time to recharge and restore are more creative, happier, successful, and live a healthier life. Who doesn't want that? So I'm going to go ahead and have you identify areas in your life that you're doing really well in, and then those that could use more of your time and your attention. So let's talk about the first practice, physical wellbeing ...Download & Listen for the Rest of the Story! How to Support the Mission of the Show?1. Warning Lights?

Warning Lights?

2020-06-3005:30

What's your warning light saying? Have you ever been driving down the road in your car and all of a sudden that little red light up there on the dashboard starts flashing and you're, "Oh, what, what?" And you pull over and try to figure it out. Or maybe you came out in the morning or the evening and you turn your car on, and that little red lights going or maybe there's two or three of them, or in your car maybe it's yellow. You know what I'm talking about when that red warning light is going on in your car, what do you do? Do you turn the music up in your car and just ignore it until all of a sudden it's clinking and clanging and maybe something implodes. And the next thing you know, uh-oh, I got big problems. You know what I'm saying? If you ignore that warning light in your car, you could end up with a big problem, which maybe was a small problem to start off with. What do you do? You go and take it to get checked out because there's something going on.Well, guess what? If you want to become the CEO of your mental and physical health, our body is the same. We're a living, breathing machine. We are living, breathing organism system. Your Future?

Your Future?

2020-06-2308:16

We all come into this world as beautiful, innocent babies that just want the basics; love, sleep, food, and a really good nappy change, right? We don't come in with prejudice, anxiety, or depression. And for some of us, we're born into abuse, sexual, physical, or emotional abuse, or neglect, emotional neglect, where we're not getting loved, or physical neglect. Some of us, we're born into dysfunctional families. There's mental illness, somebody who's in prison, a mother who was violently treated. There's divorce or there's substance abuse, like alcohol or drugs. And over time, this starts working on us, it's kind of like pain. Like a sore that's just constantly being rubbed and rubbed and rubbed, and it starts hurting and it just oozes and it never scabs over. And we start getting angry and fearful and we're saying, "I have to do whatever I have to do to numb myself." So we go and look for ways to numb ourselves. We spend a lot of money on credit cards, or we overeat, or we under eat, or we start drinking, doing drugs. We start being in wrong relationships or we start gambling or go into pornography. After a while we say, "Okay, I have to go see the doctor." You go see the doctor. You get placed on medication. You go to counseling and you're doing everything that you're supposed to be doing, plus you're also experiencing side effects, side effects from the medication, like sleeping too little or sleeping too much. And you'll wake up feeling foggy.  And for some of us, that's okay for a certain period of time. Deep down inside, you know that something is not being taken care of. You know that something is very, very wrong. Research has shown that these adverse childhood experiences, called ACE, can actually increase our risk of anxiety, depression, alcoholism, obesity, and it can increase our risk of suicide by up to 1,200%. Yes, you heard right. 1,200%. I encourage you to Google adverse childhood experiences so that you can get your ACE score and know why you may be experiencing anxiety or depression.PLAY, WATCH, and LISTEN FOR THE REST OF THE STORY!How to Support the Mission of the Show?1.
