In this emotional episode of Enjoy the Journey, I talk with Covid Survivor, Errol Schroeder, and his wife, Darlene.Errol was in the hospital for 3 months--most of that time in a coma--and in a rehab facility for another month. He was clinically dead for about 6 minutes--and would be dead now, if not for the unyielding devotion of his wife and the miraculous power of God. Doctors, doing what they thought was best, marked Errol as "DNR--Do not resuscitate" without Darlene's permission--leading her to legally fight for his life. His testimony is powerful, inspirational, and shows the power of prayer, a devoted wife, and an all-powerful God.Here's a video of Errol, leading Journey's Children's Ministry, just days before he was placed on a ventilator. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pytttq0yrpAHere's the song that Darlene sang, prayed, and worshipped with during Errol's long stay in the hospital: Way Maker by Leelandhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJCV_2H9xD0If you'd prefer to listen to watch this podcast, you can go here: https://youtu.be/Vtg9k8xdZocIf you like this Podcast, please like it, subscribe, and share it with as many people as you can. If you’d like to contact me, you can reach me at arron@arronchambers.com. My website is www.arronchambers.com. If you’d like to check out the church where I serve or watch one of my messages, go to: www.journeychristian.org/media. My Instagram @arronchambersTwitter @ArronChambersMy Official Facebook Page: @ArronChambersOfficial

He and his wife planted Mosaic Church (https://www.greeleymosaic.com) in Greeley, Colorado 13 years ago. Mosaic is one of the fastest growing churches in Northern Colorado. Three years ago Angel and I founded the Connect Leadership Network (https://connectleadership.network) to provide soul-care, coaching, and collaborative opportunities for pastors from all over the world. In this conversation Angel and I discuss everything from leading the church during Covid, parenting, leading a large staff, jui jitsu, racism, to white privilege. This episode is sponsored by Kentucky Christian University in Grayson, Kentucky.Kentucky Christian University (https://www.kcu.edu) is a private, non-profit Christian university located in the beautiful foothills of Eastern Kentucky. For nearly a century, KCU has been transforming the hearts and minds of students through a Christ-Centered academic community that is both academically rigorous and intimately personal.KCU invited me to deliver 4 Ted-talk-style presentations on Evangelism in a Covid World. In this episode of Enjoy the Journey, I'm sharing a conversation I had with Dr. Ruth Reyes about worship, ministry, faith, family, and what it's like to be a child prodigy and study at The Julliard School in New York City. Here is a video of Dr. Reyes playing the piece we discussed in this conversation: Chopin Ballade in G Minor, Op. 23: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9EH476A4cMWow!Dr. Reyes is the Assistant Dean of the School of Communication and Creative Arts, and a Professor of Music at Johnson University. Here's some other information about Dr. Reyes...Pre-college studies at the Juilliard SchoolB.Mus. in Piano (Queens College)M.A. in Piano Performance (Aaron Copland School of Music)Ed.D. in Higher Education (Nova Southeastern University)Rehearsal accompanist for Disney’s Epcot Center Candlelight Processional servicesLeader of worship clinics and classes in local churchesShe answers some questions...My favorite part about teaching at Johnson is: The ability to impart to students skills I’ve gained over my long career in a very practical and relevant way. When I’m not teaching, I love to: Travel, sample my husband’s culinary dishes, practice the piano. In my classes, students can expect: Me to demonstrate musical and worship concepts in a practical way: on the piano or by singing or by helping students craft a good worship song.My best advice to a new student in my program is: Hard work, patience, and dedication to practice and honing your skills will pay off in the long run and will add to your versatility in the marketplace or ministry.Because of my influence, I most want my students to become: Confident with their God-given abilities – to use your giftedness, to respond to a calling in kingdom work, and to earn a living while doing what you love most is a very cool thing to achieve in life. The myth-busting truth about my discipline I most want people to understand is: There are no easy shortcuts to being a complete worship leader and a musician: the deeper you are in the word, the more committed you are to spiritual disciplines, and the more dedicated you are to being the best musician in any setting, the greater your capacity will be for high impact in whatever you do.A quote that influences how I live is: “The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul.” – Johann Sebastian Bach--Source: https://johnsonu.edu/staff/ruth-reyes/If you like this Video Podcast, please like it, subscribe, and share it with as many people as you can. If you'd prefer to watch this interview on YouTube, here's the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRZ0NSFRZnE&t=2sIf you’d like to contact me, you can reach me at arron@arronchambers.com. My website is www.arronchambers.com. If you’d like to check out the church where I serve or watch one of my messages, go to: www.journeychristian.org/media. My Instagram @arronchambersTwitter @ArronChambersMy Official Facebook Page: @ArronChambersOfficial
In this episode of Enjoy the Journey, I'm sharing a conversation I had with Jennifer Johnson about life, growing up in a Christian home, leadership, the Church, critical-thinking, and the challenges and blessings of being a stepmom.Jennifer Johnson serves as the Chief Communications Officer at Johnson University in Knoxville, TN, where she leads a small team of artsy people who are more creative than she is.  Before joining the JU team, she owned her own business, See Jen Write, and worked with businesses and ministries around the world to create books, small group curriculum, videos, websites, and marketing campaigns. Jen spent her thirties blogging about faith, doubt, the church, and the idiosyncrasies of Christian culture and compiled those posts into her book, "See Jen Write: The Best of the Blog," in 2018  - she was honored to have Arron write the foreword. She's currently a wife, a stepmom of two young adults, a board member for Orchard Group and Christian Missionary Fellowship, a graduate student, an American Airlines Gold member, a reluctant dog owner, and a big fan of caffeine. If you like this Video Podcast, please like it, subscribe, and share it with as many people as you can. If you'd prefer to watch this conversation on YouTube: https://youtu.be/RozNGOcM2XEIf you’d like to contact me, you can reach me at arron@arronchambers.com. My website is www.arronchambers.com. If you’d like to check out the church where I serve or watch one of my messages, go to: www.journeychristian.org/media. My Instagram @arronchambersTwitter @ArronChambersMy Official Facebook Page: @ArronChambersOfficial
On the special edition of my podcast, I share a message where I discuss the important issues of race, racism, the love of God, love for people, injustice, and white privilege. This is audio of a message I delivered on June 7, 2020 at Journey Christian Church (www.journeychristian.org).This is an important and timely message.I believe the murder of George Floyd, and the protests that followed, are tipping points for our country and for the Church. The death of George Floyd opened wounds in our country, but it also has opened hearts, minds, and eyes to blindspots we have regarding issues of race, prejudice, injustice, and...for Christians...the Church's responsibility to live out the Gospel in a way that honors God and reflects Christ-like love for all people. If you'd prefer to watch this message, you can watch it on Journey Christian Church's Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MGyC3kXzOb8
