He has been a member of many national and international expert committees. He was member of the WHO Guideline Development Group for Primary Chronic Low Back Pain published in 2023. He was deputy-chair of the landmark Lancet Low Back Pain Series that was published in The Lancet in 2018. He has supervised 22 PhD students as main- or co-supervisor to completion.
