Description

In "The Art of Holiness," we explore the intersection of three strands: practical holiness, supernatural ministry, and intergenerational encouragement. We talk with practitioners who are innovating in these areas, filtered through two generations of ministry. Hosted by Carolyn Moore and Pierce Drake, these are casual conversations with people who are sowing for awakening in hearts, homes, churches, and communities. The Art of Holiness is a New Room Network podcast.

With this episode, we wrap up season three of The Art of Holiness, and we do so with a ton of gratitude for you. Our podcast community is a great blessing to us. Thanks for listening. Today, we're giving you a double dose of good conversation with two of our favorite people. Dr. Alec Rowlands is the senior pastor of Westgate Chapel in Edmonds, Washington, and the founder of Church Awakening, which equips pastors for spiritual awakening. Rev. Matt Reynolds is the pastor of Stillwater Church in Dayton, Ohio, and the director of Spirit and Truth, a movement among Spirit-filled Methodists who long for a more vibrant Church. These two men share a deep desire to see the Church in America enlivened by the Holy Spirit, and our conversations with them reflect that passion. We hope you listen.

In a season when anxiety and hopelessness seem to be at record highs, today's conversation with Dr. Matthew Sleeth is especially poignant. Dr. Sleeth is a former emergency room physician and Chief of Staff, who resigned from his position to teach, preach, and write about faith and health. He has spoken at more than one thousand churches, campuses, and events, including serving as a monthly guest preacher at the Washington National Cathedral. Recognized by Newsweek as one of the nation’s most influential Christian leaders, Dr. Sleeth is the executive director of Blessed Earth and author of numerous articles and books. In this podcast, we'll talk through his latest book, Hope Always: How To Be a Force for Life in a Culture of Suicide. We hope you listen.

We talked to him in this podcast about his latest book, Livestream, which is all about learning how to hear and follow the voice of God. We hope you listen.

This week, we are honored to air a recent conversation recorded with Dr. William J. "Billy" Abraham. It was a privilege that Billy graciously gave us his time during the NewRoom Conference to talk about a broad range of issues. Tragically, just two weeks later, Billy passed from this life unexpectedly. Pierce and I  want to remember him by airing this conversation together with two friends who were an integral part of this final chapter of Billy’s life. Ryan Barnett, pastor of Waco First United Methodist Church, will talk with us about the establishment of The Wesley House of Studies and Billy’s work there. After we hear the conversation with Billy, Kevin Watson will help us to put words around where his vision of a renewed Methodism can go from here.

Georgia. We are excited to welcome Mark to The Art of Holiness to talk about getting a revival worldview.
Today, it's us. Pierce and Carolyn talk like family about how prayer is working for them right now, and about the kinds of prayer we are putting into the toolbox to help build a bridge through the trauma of our collective reality. Pierce shares his journey into using a prayer language to deepen faith, and Carolyn discusses options for helping to discern beyond emotion into the mind of Christ. We hope you listen.
