Check out this week's podcast with Annie Lobert from Hookers for Jesus and Destiny House in Las Vegas, NV.  I thought I knew so much about her, but I was wrong.  I hope you'll listen to this special superhero interview, because her story is redemptive and powerful and one everybody should hear.  Originally, I had planned to ask her a number of crazy questions, but I only got 30 minutes with her, so I just let her tell what she could with the limited time.  No matter what it was a giant honor.... This week's podcast is about my father, the late Robert L Jones Sr. who departed this mortal coil at 7pm on August 2nd, 2016.   This podcast discusses his early years, the struggles with family, his older sister dying, his marriage, his years moving and working in towns with funny names, like Chehalis, Wenatchee, Tonasket, Yakima, and Olympia.  We visited Lake Chelan.  We almost died boating.  We almost died moving.  We almost died in a head on car accident outside of Yelm, Wa.  Basically, we almost died a lot. I also discuss his last 25 years living in Ocean Shores, Wa with my mother, and the toll life took on him. Lastly, it wasn't lost on me that the very thing my dad had always looked for to fill the hole in his life was always right in front of him.  He figured that out, and I couldn't be happier about that. I will miss him like no other, and I hope you enjoy this insight into the man that made me what I am.  I apologize for the salty dialogue in advance, and I truly thank you for listening to this memorial by yours truly.   I love you, Dad.  Thank you for making me, me. You are the definition of a Superhero. "Even the Stars" was generously made available for use to the podcast by Rafe Pearlman and Jonathan Plum.  Even the Stars is the first track from the 2013 release, Dust & Gold (Pearlman, Plum)  Even The Stars on Youtube

This week's podcast features my old friend, Kevin Lynch, who is currently running the Quell Foundation in Falmouth, MA.  Kevin is a purposeful man, committed to finding a way to remove the mask from the stigma of mental illness.  His own personal dealings with mental illness drove Kevin to start the foundation and it's clear this is his calling.  In only 6 months of building the brand and non-profit, Kevin was a featured speaker at the White House. It's my hope his story will inspire and challenge you.  In addition, it may be valuable simply to better understand how mental illness may be affecting the fringes of your life.  If it's true that 1 in 4 people are diagnosed with mental illness (and improper diagnosis notwithstanding), we know a lot of people who struggle with the disease.  Perhaps you, the listener, does as well.  Quell is here to help. I was honored to meet Martin years ago at a private event for a well known international author and newspaper columnist.  At that meeting, I was able to partake of his great wines, only then discovering that his company, SOZO Wines, does something remarkable.  SOZO donates a significant portion of its profits to help those that cannot help themselves.  Whether we are talking about homelessness, sex trafficking or the like, SOZO is there little by little to make its mark.  In fact, if you buy his wines, you can pick where you want your non-profit dollars to go.  That said, this is no cheap wine, so don't be fooled.  This is the real McCoy and I found his story reflects my own ambitions regarding business and the development of something "important." Even if you aren't fascinated with wine, or couldn't care less about homelessness, I believe you will love this conversation...in fact, I guarantee it. Be willing to learn something today and see how you can impact your own little corner of the world. So....Dig in and enjoy! 0:00 Intro to Martin 1:30 Gnomes. It's rare to meet a hero.   I have been a Tubes fan and, subsequently, a massive Fee Waybill fan by default since I was old enough to understand their music and subversive nature. They were a cosmic force, built in the 60's and unleashed on the world in the 70's. They had it all.  Musicianship, showmanship, and crazy bonkers attitude. There was no stopping them. Interviewing Fee was a dream and if I have anything to say about it, the dream will continue another day soon. For now, you'll have to be satisfied with what I got until I get more.  Tied for the number 1 singer in the world, it's Fee Waybill on the Rockstar Superhero Podcast! 0:55 Being in a band is a dream 3:45 The Scottsdale Singers 6:35 Singing Beatles songs 8:25 Can't do Hendrix 9:45 Moving to a ghost town 11:10 Outdoor plumbing and desert living 13:50 Becoming a cowboy for a year 17:05 The beginnings of The Tubes 24:00 Ambition and work ethic 25:40 White Punks on Dope 27:20 Everyone knows The Tubes 30:50 Meeting David Foster 32:50 Don't Want to Wait Anymore 35:00 The origins of Talk to Ya Later 37:30 Uh yeah not thrilled 40:00 Angry Bill Spooner 43:30 The Richard Marx story and the new record, Fee Waybill Rides Again 49:40 Cynthia Rhodes and the Tubes orbit 51:00 Boys trips with Richard Marx 59:20 Seeing David Bowie and The Tubes 1:01:00 Meeting Santa Claus She's a Beauty by The Tubes (1983) - Outside Inside - Capitol Records - 1A 064-400 164 Audio on behalf of Rhino; LatinAutor - UMPG, ASCAP, BMG Rights Management (US), LLC, Peermusic, LatinAutor - SonyATV, LatinAutor - PeerMusic, Sony ATV Publishing, UMPI, BMI - Broadcast Music Inc., UMPG Publishing, SOLAR Music Rights Management, LatinAutorPerf, UNIAO BRASILEIRA DE EDITORAS DE MUSICA - UBEM, and 7 Music Rights Societies Subscribe to the show here: Itunes: https://apple.co/39PQQl2 Stitcher: https://bit.ly/3jmJNU2 Spotify: https://spoti.fi/3tneT2p iHeartRadio: https://ihr.fm/3cO86ZP Join us at https://www.rockstarsuperhero.com - Become a member today. Serge Bagdasarov is a walking miracle. When I say miracle, I mean yes.... literally a miracle. His life doesn't make any sense on paper, yet here he is... thriving and doing what it takes to live exceptionally, when he was guaranteed anything but. Serge comes from the meanest streets on the former Soviet Union and his story only gets more interesting and profound. When you hear what he has to say, you'll know this is a man on a mission. One of mercy and grace. One of hope and belief that something truly powerful resides outside of self, yet deeply within. Serge is my friend, a mentor, and a promise that no of us really know why were made or where we are going, but if we trust that infinite spark hidden deep within, we can achieve anything and outlive every death sentence humanity can throw at us. Today, on Rockstar Superhero, we are blessed to have a conversation with the legendary front man, Mike Reno from the Canadian rock powerhouse, Loverboy. As we all know, Loverboy is pure rock and roll from a time when there wasn't so much of that on the airwaves, at least in the United States. In 1980, the music business was coming down from the disco era, and new era of musical styles were emerging. Clashing with bands that were driving the new wave bandwagon, Loverboy powered its way onto the scene, bringing newfound charisma, stage presence, impeccable song writing, and driving beats that kids everywhere did their very best air guitar impressions to. What else can I say? Ladies and Gentlemen, this is Mike Reno of Loverboy on the Rockstar Superhero Podcast! Welcome to the first edition of Radical Calling, the faith vertical of the Rockstar Superhero Institute.  I hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it.  Yes, it should be challenging to you, especially if you think Jesus is either complete bullcrap or just weird.  Yes, we are serious.  Yes, we understand the content might make you feel uncomfortable.  Yes, we are working hard to make it better. The content herein is the audio portion of a Zoom call held during the great suppression of 2020, the time when our world was unsure of what was happening with loved ones and friends, as science tried to figure out Coronavirus, while the world shut down in fear. At Radical Calling, we are not afraid of death.  It has no power over us.  Christ is our Redeemer and our Strength.  Through Him, all is possible.   I hope you enjoy the references to the lives of the loved ones we have lost over the last 5 years, and I hope this show will be the breakthrough you have sought to understand who Jesus was and IS. I met Brian in 2003 at a Roller coaster convention.  Yes, there are actually Roller coaster conventions and yes, it's embarrassing to be a part of them. This week (or should I say YEAR?) on the show, I had the blessing of speaking to the soap opera legend, Ian Buchanan and wow... what fun that was.  I was incredibly intimidated, possibly because I also realized I was speaking with Dick Tremayne from the early 90's ABC show, Twin Peaks. Who can't submit to the legendary smile and charms of everyone's favorite Dick? Between his career in modeling, to the many times he's shifted from soap opera to soap opera (being killed off, etc), he's created a mythos that's hard to overcome.   Ian is intently focused on his work currently on The Bold and The Beautiful as well as his desire to support a few different charities benefiting education for the poor as well as a cancer foundation.  Ian is the real deal, and I'm just so happy to have met him. I hope you'll enjoy as I stumble through the podcast and thankfully ended well.  That's really all I can say. This episode of the Rockstar Superhero podcast features Sam Fishman, the drummer of the well known "most patriotic band in the world," Madison Rising. Sam came to me via another great friend from the midwest and I had a great time chatting. Sam is a very talented drummer, full of great groove and completely plays for the song. A great guy and fun personality, I found the best part was asking about his personal life and his passions. Like yours truly, Sam loves roller coasters. This makes liking him that much easier! With that, I hope you'll love meeting him as much as I did and I highly encourage you to check out Madison Rising on tour, on digital media, and everywhere else you can check them out! They are great. Enjoy the podcast and please SUBSCRIBE and share with friends!
