Melissa came into the rooms of Alanon 15 years ago to learn how to fix all the dysfunctional, maddening people in her life. Fortunately, when that didn’t work, she stuck around to “fix” herself. She is a member of The Big Book Sponsorship group and sponsors fellows in Coda, Alanon and SLAA. She credits her recovery journey for the beautiful life she has today, and considers it a privilege to share her experience, strength and hope with others.  In this meeting, Melissa speaks about how she came to realize that she was the problem... and if so... that she could also be the solution.Reco12 is an organization with the mission of learning and sharing the similarities of addiction of all kinds and gaining and sharing tools and hope from others who are walking a similar path.  We come together from all places, faiths and backgrounds to gain tools and hope from others who are walking a similar path. In this POWERFUL meeting, Matt D shares on how he eventually became grateful that he is married to a sexaholic woman.  Here is a little about Matt D: Matt's wife's sexaholism brought him to the S-Anon fellowship in December 2021 as a homicidal, suicidal lost cause. After a slow start, he learned through the principles of the 12 steps and the tools of S-Anon to love God, his wife, his children, and his fellows, and to takesolution-based action to break the patterns of co-dependency in his life. The lessons he's learned in S-Anon have also helped him to tackle his drug and alcohol addictions. He is now an S-Anon success story, living his best life as one who is happy, joyous, and free.Reco12 is an organization with the mission of learning and sharing the similarities of addiction of all kinds and gaining and sharing tools and hope from others who are walking a similar path.  We come together from all places, faiths and backgrounds to gain tools and hope from others who are walking a similar path. Evarleigh S. found her way into the virtual rooms of recovery April 2022, her first experience was through Adult Children of Alcoholics & Dysfunctional Families. Seeking help for those around her that had done harm to her -pointing the finger at all others. Little did Evarleigh know that this one decision; to start her on a journey by connecting with a fellow, round the globe in Sweden, was just the divine intervention needed. Evarleigh realized she needed more - of what she didn't exactly know at the time, just more.  She was eventually catapulted into the hands of a helping Higher Power from her place in what she calls Liarland.Karen A and Evarleigh S walk through this Reco12 Afro-Euro Speaker Meeting and share their experience, strength, and hope. Justin B is a sex addict and a food addict living in the miracle of recovery. Justin's passion lies in sharing and learning about the commonalities and successful recovery strategies for all types of addictions. Justin has discovered that there are similarities in the success stories of people from all walks of life, regardless of their faith, background, nationality, orientation, race, or addiction. His ultimate goal is to connect with people in a way that inspires them to recognize their own worth. Justin works in this goal by seeking guidance from his Higher Power and striving to reflect light that inspires hope, meaning, worth, and growth in others. Josh is a grateful sex addict working his recovery.  He has been sober since June 19, 2014.  He found recovery in the synergistic relationship between therapy and 12 steps.  As well as the grace and forgiveness he received from his wife and his God.  He started attending SA for 2 years and then was introduced to SAL and has been attending SAL 12 Step for over 7 years.  As part of his recovery journey he felt called by God to share his experience, strength and hope.  He did so in group meetings, church  as a sponsor, but felt God's call for more.  As a result he went back to schooland left a career of 15 years in pursuit of becoming a Clinical Mental HealthCounselor (CMHC).  He is now working at the clinic where he started his recovery journey (Circles of Grace/formerly LifeStar in Salt Lake City). Reco12 is an organization with the mission of learning and sharing the similarities of addiction of all kinds and gaining and sharing tools and hope from others who are walking a similar path.  We come together from all places, faiths and backgrounds to gain tools and hope from others who are walking a similar path. Amanda B came into the rooms of SLAA at the end of June 2022 but quickly found her way to Big Book Sponsorship and jumped straight into the steps with her sponsor. She has found the solution to all her problems by following the instructions that are offered in the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous.  Amanda B loves hearing the stories of others in recovery and finds that she can relate to people in every 12 step recovery room. She finds the similarities and knows she’s not alone. You can find Amanda at the Big Book Audio Club meeting (like a book club but for speaker shares) on Thursdays at 2pm weekly thru July 2023 and then 1st and 3rd Thursdays starting in August 2023! All are welcome to join. Sean B came into the rooms of AA on May 22nd, 2019 after coming to the realization that he was unable to regulate his emotional state without a drink. He quickly recognized there was a large gap between the expectation of where he thought he would be in life and the reality of where he was. While he was able to stay sober for a year, he half measured the steps and didn’t make much spiritual progress. On February 27th, 2020, he came into the Big Book Sponsorshipfellowship and threw himself into the steps, and abandoned himself to God. In that process, he has learned much about addiction, emotional sobriety and codependency. He has worked with over 30 sponsees, and maintained 3 years of sobriety from hard drugs and alcohol.  In this meeting, Sean speaks on getting back to the basics of the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous.Reco12 is an organization with the mission of learning and sharing the similarities of addiction of all kinds and gaining and sharing tools and hope from others who are walking a similar path.  We come together from all places, faiths and backgrounds to gain tools and hope from others who are walking a similar path.  Speakers from our past meetings have represented so many fellowships, addictions, and afflictions.  And we look forward to continuing to add to the diversity of speakers and backgrounds.  Reco12 appreciates your help in keeping us working our 12th Step with these great resources and services for the addict and loved ones.  We gratefully accept contributions to help cover the costs of the Zoom platform, podcast platform, web hosting, and administrative costs.  To become a Reco12 Spearhead you can quickly and easily become a monthly donor here: https://www.reco12.com/support  or you can do one-time donations through PayPal (https://www.paypal.me/reco12)  or Venmo:  @Reco-Twelve .  Thanks for your support!Resources from this meeting: Big Book Sponsorship / 12Steps4HoursAlcoholics AnonymousBig Book of AA"Outro music is "Truth and Reconciliation" written and performed by James Carrington and used with full permission of James Carrington.  To learn more about this music and performer, please visit https://www.jamescarrington.net/ and https://m.facebook.com/jamescarringtonmusic ." Support the showPrivate Facebook GroupInstagram PageBecome a Reco12 Spearhead (Monthly Supporter)PatreonPayPalVenmo: @Reco-TwelveYouTube ChannelReco12 WebsiteEmail: reco12pod@gmail.com to join WhatsApp GroupReco12 Shares PodcastReco12 Shares Record a Share LinkReco12 Noodle It Out with Nikki M PodcastReco12 Big Book Roundtable Podcast

Young found the 12 step rooms in 2010 after losing everything due to his daily heroin, crack and alcohol addiction. He didn't take any of the 12 steps and spent the next 8 years in and out of detox units and treatment centers. He was separated from all mind altering substances Christmas eve 2018 and since that moment has thrown himself into a spiritual life and helping others. Young speaks to us today of the power of entering into the world of the spirit and the 10th Step Promises of Alcoholics Anonymous. Reco12 is an organization with the mission of learning and sharing the similarities of addiction of all kinds and gaining and sharing tools and hope from others who are walking a similar path.  We come together from all places, faiths and backgrounds to gain tools and hope from others who are walking a similar path.
