On this episode of Students of Mind, Jayde is joined by two guests who share their experiences and perspectives on Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). First up is Dr. Kalyan Dandala. Dr. Dandala is a psychiatrist and behavioral health industry consultant. In his work, Dr. Dandala utilizes TMS therapy to treat patients with a variety of illnesses including depression, anxiety, PTSD, and chronic pain. He gives an overview of what TMS is, how it is used, when patients typically receive it , and how to navigate insurance. From his point of view, TMS can be a game changer for those battling with their mental health. This second instalment of the two part services covering autism and mental health is one of our most eye opening episodes here on the Students of Mind podcast. Jayde sits down with Callie Niver and Kitten Friant–two adults who were diagnosed with autism later in life. Callie is a 20 year old student and writer, and Kitten is a 25 year old information security analyst. Both share their stories of what it was like to grow up with undiagnosed autism and how life changed after receiving a diagnosis in adulthood.
