The Mentorship Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/309097173866754Earlier this week, I finished my 5-day juice cleanse through Raleigh Raw. A lot of people have asked me why I do it. Here are my top 3 PERSONAL reasons.EMOTIONAL RESILIENCEWe eat when we're sad, when we're happy, to medicate, to celebrate and when we're bored. trust me, you will be hungry on a cleanse. like really hungry. It's going to mess with your head and expose your emotional weakness. And you'll be stronger because of it. When you go 3-5 days without food you learn to face and manage your emotions instead of eating them. YOu'll learn that hangry isn't a good excuse to be unkind.NUTRITIONAL DISCIPLINEWhen you've completed a cleanse and said no to food for days at a time, you learn that you're able to say no to unhealthy habits. It becomes easier to pass on an oreo craving when you know you've gone much longer and been much more disciplined.And... It's a really healthy reset for your body.SPIRITUAL DEVELOPMENTYou won't just cleanse your body; you will also cleanse your spirit.Fasting has been a part of many religious traditions for thousands of years. And for good reason. The cleanse is a time for meditation and reflection on who you've been, who you are, and who you will become. What good is a healthy body if it houses a sick soul?
(Episode 20)Can I Get An AMEN! I wish I could say I've been strong this year....There are things I'm proud of, and there are the other things. This year has been full of uncertainty, frustration, loss, confusion, fighting, finding, rebirth, recognizing, awareness, connection, and all sorts of other flavors of emotions. When we face a circumstance that we wouldn't otherwise choose, we have a few options: Adjust on the fly and make lemon aid out of lemons. Learn and adjust in retrospect. Adjust and learn in the experience and from the experience. Or... we could choose to lose the lesson and risk letting it happen again. In episode 20, we talk about how we can be better in 2021 because 2020 happened. The Mentorship Group: https://www.patreon.com/dougstewart919Website: DougStewart919.com
