This episode of the Creating Cadence podcast is about silence and our senses, and specifically about the impact that a lack of silence is having on our minds and bodies. Our working styles and current social and physical environments are also waging war on our senses, which in turn affects our productivity, our health and our wellbeing. You need to be subscribed to the Cadence newsletter to receive access to podcast transcripts and links to resources shared in the podcast. For this season of the Creating Cadence podcast, I’ve introduced a Q&A element to some of my episodes and that’s what we’re doing in this one. In episode 13, I’m covering issues relating to our perceptions of what constitutes “being productive” when we’re working from home. How productivity and wellbeing suffers when there seems to be too much to do, and how we can be seen to be productive without having to literally be visible online all day. We touch on the fallout and repercussions of bad work ethics or negative work behaviours that have carried over into our current distributed working situations. And why it’s important to work on changing our mindset and behaviours around what we think is expected of us, when this way of thinking is a construct of an outdated working culture that essentially originated way back in the industrial revolution, and doesn’t fit our current scenarios. You can access show notes and transcripts if you sign up for the Cadence newsletter via the Growth Sessions website: https://growthsessions.co/cadence-podcast/
Episode 14 of the Creating Cadence podcast is about autonomy, time and team management and common trends in distributed working practices and issues we encounter when working remotely. What are the ways that we can improve team cohesion and communication, so that distributed working practices support our teams better, instead of being an added stress? The answer lies in enabling more autonomy for everyone on the team, improving our discipline around how we work, and respecting each other’s time and attention more. In this episode I look at these three aspects in more detail. If you have questions or observations about distributed working practices for your team, please write in to hello@growthsessions.co You can access show notes, transcripts and the links I reference in this episode, if you sign up for the free Cadence newsletter via the Growth Sessions website: https://growthsessions.co/cadence-podcast/
This episode is about the wellbeing benefits of companies making space in their work culture and work processes for more time off. The aim of offering additional, company-wide, time-off days is to help mitigate and prevent burnout from excessive online working. This trend has gained momentum, especially in the past year of enforced remote working. You can access the transcript for this podcast if you sign up for the monthly Cadence guide and accompanying newsletter, via https://growthsessions.co/cadence-podcast/
The episode is around practices which support both our attention and our wellbeing.
