We had a blast at the NABC Convention and had the opportunity to connect with my friends from the LABC at the annual Final 4 Luncheon. I got to interview my guy Lucas Ramirez from Phoenix as well as my guy Omar Sanchez from California. Both great coaches but even better people. On The Coach’s Office segment, Coach Ernest Lopez interviewed Coach John Hirst, who has his own Final Four tradition of his own. He dropped so many coaching gems, you do not want to miss it!!! On Episode 40 I had a chance to sit and talk to Coach Cavin Leonard of John Jay High School in San Antonio, Texas and Coach Lucas Ramirez of Saguaro High School in Scottsdale, Arizona.
On episode 39 I had a chance to sit and talk to two outstanding men in the profession. Coach McHone and Coach Molina have been in the profession for several years and are definitely well respected veterans in the game. Coach McHone is the head boys coach at Boerne High School and Coach Molina is the head boys coach at Harlingen South. Both coaches have a strong pedigree when it comes to coaching basketball. Coach McHone’s father coached at the high major division I level at places like Florida State, as well as spending many years coaching with the San Antonio Spurs. Coach Molina’s father has over 500 wins in Texas High School basketball and is in the Texas Coaching Hall of Fame. We had a great conversation that you do not want to miss. On Episode 38, I had a chance to sit and speak with Andre Owens, Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at Sam Houston State University. Coach Owens spent some time as a head coach, played collegiately at The University of Texas at San Antonio, played professionally in Germany and Turkey, and has had a journey full of valuable life lesson which he passes along to his athletes. He also names his top 3 basketball movies of all time, his all time starting five, and his starting 5 comprised of current NBA players. Enjoy!!!
