Season 2: On March 21, 2015, 32 year old Eric Cates and his beloved dog, Gypsy, were found murdered behind the old Empire School in the tiny Walker County town of Empire, AL. Their bodies were found burned in the cab of Eric's truck. Their murders remain unsolved even though the crime is rumored to have been witnessed by a large crowd of people. In Season 2 of Secrets True Crime, Amber and private investigation firm Echo 7 Foxtrot, LLC will be digging into this case to help find justice for Eric Cates.Season 2 Bonus Mini-Season: 26 year old Hayden Mayberry went missing on November 19, 2019. He reportedly walked into the woods in the Boldo area of Walker County, AL from a home he was staying at on Pine Dr. His remains were found on February 2, 2020 under some unusual circumstances. excellent courageous integrity in investigating and reporting
sound is strange on this episode constantly fluctuating
Started out good, got my interest but as I got towards the last episodes the repetition got to be too much. The same stuff over and over again. The story could have been told in about 5 episodes.
No episode was ever released 2-3 weeks after this about the quarry.
They don’t care. These “people” in charge just don’t want to put in the effort to do their jobs. Bottom line, they will let him live “free” , unless he confesses. That way, their job is done for them. Those bodies will never be found.
The most dangerous place for a woman is in her own home.
Thank You for sharing this. These 2 dealths broke my heart. No reason and so much coverup. I do hope that all who were involved in this tragedy get their asses nailed to the wall.

I'm from a surrounding county in AL and really in to true crime and dang I am so excited I found this podcast. I had no idea Walker County was such a crazy place. Thanks for shedding light on this little corner of the world
I'm enjoying this so far but since I found it in 2020, it'd be really helpful if Seasons and episodes were part of each title, like "S3 E4 - abcxyz" because it's so hard for me to follow one story all the way through.

Those people who use their badges and authority to terrorize folks are the scum of the Earth. I pray for you often, Tobbie. Hopefully this crime will be solved soon
I'd be willing to bet that whoever is involved in Eric's murder would pay substantially more than $5000.00 for people to keep their mouth shut. Walker County thugs don't play around. They kill you.
The hunters said the truck was smoldering when they got BACK......How was the truck BEFORE , when they saw it ? .....They are so.......vague.
I can HEAR the fear in his voice.IF Roe did not kill him and that sweet dog, then that man KNOWS who did it.To me, that is just as bad.
