Eamonn Barclay hosted Bryan King, Phil Coleman, and Jeff Burnige as they remembered the late former Lion Phil Walker who passed away on Friday the 8th of July 2022. RIP Phil Walker
Phil Coleman laments and talks of his friend and former Lion John Lyons. He reflects upon the circumstances surrounding John's death and the need to remove the stigma surrounding men's mental health.
The work of the Millwall Community Trust is wide and varied. In this programme we look at the Lions Food Hub with Kelly Webster; The Millwall Lionesses who have moved up a tier with captain Libby Stubbs; and the Millwall Romans season past and future with Manager Paul Loding, coach Jay Lemonius and second-team manager Andy Dolan.

This third and final episode of three picks up as the Lions are back in the Championship under the management of Bruce Rioch for his first full season in charge.The story leads to Les leaving the Den for Brighton and subsequently to Slough Town where he ends his football days. But it does not end there, Les forms his own business, coaches andcontinues to work at Millwall to this day.The story ends in this episode with Les being concerned with the Covid-19 pandemic and the harm to people and the football club.What a lovely man!
You are about to listen to Millwall No One Likes Us Talkin’s Eamonn Barclay talking with former Millwall player and Legend Les Briley talking about his life in football. This second episode of three picks up after George Graham and Theo Foley left the Den for Arsenal in 1986. The story leads to Les being the only Millwall captain to lead the Lions to the top flight under the management of John Docherty and Frank McClintock. Following two seasons Millwall with Les, returned to the second tier and John and Frank were replaced by a new manager Bruce Rioch before the second season concluded. The story ends in this episode with the team heading to Tenerife.

This is the last of a three part interview where we welcome a Millwall legend, Dennis BurnettBermondsey born and bred Dennis started his career as a youth team player at West Ham United, I know but he was one of many, making his first team debut for them in October 1965. Must have been interesting times leading up to the World Cup in 66.Dennis played 66 games in all competitions for West Ham scoring three goals.In 1967 he moved across the river, close to his birthplace of Bermondsey and signed for the Lions for £15,000. Bargain!With us he made over 250 appearances, taking over the captaincy whenever Harry Cripps was out.In October 1973, he left for Hull City for £75,000, good profit made there..He also played for Hull City, St. Louis Stars in the US, Brighton & Hove Albion and Shamrock Rovers in Ireland before crossing the North Sea, where had four seasons playing and managing SK Haugar in Norway.He also found and brought Paul Ifill to the Den.As a Freemason, Dennis now focuses on supporting the development of young football players with his fellow lodge members.Dennis played in a period of Millwall’s history considered to have been a ‘Golden Era’ when top flight football nearly and almost came to the Den.

The podcast features a main guest Quince Garcia and a supporting guest Stan Godwin, who was a member of Quince's documentary project.Quince talks about how having a child inspired his self determination to change his lifestyle and how being a Millwall fan contributed to that change as well. He also spoke of his achievements within the community and the release of the short documentary 'Millwall Black and White - A portrait from the terraces.' In respect of the future he hoped that the film started a conversation that dealt with the issues raised.Stan Godwin who featured in the documentary reflected in how he got involved in the project; what he learnt and the wider issues. He explains how he hopes this is a platform for better things.
Ayse Smith is a member of the Millwall family of fans. She has followed the Lions from the age of ten and admits supporting another club beforehand. Nonetheless, she is a well-recognised supporter by the Denizens.Ayse talks about her involvement in: The Lion Roars Fanzine; Millwall Supporters Club; Her involvement in charitable work; Millwall now and at the end of the season; Our newbies; Her best period of supporting the Lions and how we have all got to work together.
