Your authentic approach to leading yourself and others has to align with your passion and purpose. In my interview my interview with Emily Lopez, Global Head of Talent Strategy and Development at ConocoPhillips, she shares her career journey and the discoveries she made along the way in regards to embracing her strengths and using them to help others, inside and outside her organization.LINKSThe Emotionally Intelligent Leader Online Course Discout Code: tackletuesday10CONTACT INFODr. Johanna PagonisEmily Lopez contact informationSinogap Solutions Leadership Consulting We help you achieve your company's mission by maximizing the human potential across your workforce.Support the show (https://paypal.me/sinogapsolutions?locale.x=en_US)

SUMMARYPart of my role is to educate organizational leaders about the benefits of creating positive and resilient work cultures, which is the primary reason why I started Tackle Tuesday. My mission is to improve people’s lives by transforming one workplace at a time. Moving away from a climate of command and control, towards a climate of possibility. But how do you transform workplaces into environments that are inspiring, motivating, and engaging? Listen to find out.FIVE PRINCIPLES IN CREATING AN ENGAGING AND PRODUCTIVE WORKPLACE ENVIRONMENT Employees are encouraged to reflect on previous knowledge and experiences and contribute them into projects and decision making. Employees have the freedom to approach work in their own way.Employees are encouraged to experiment and approach their work in a new way (e.g. try out the new skills in an environment that is risk/failure supportive). Employees regularly and frequently receive feedback on their performance so that they can improve. The work environment is positive and encouraging.CONTACT INFOCheck out our website to learn more about how we partner with organizations in developing employee and leadership development strategies that will contribute to a company’s ability to continually grow and achieve its mission.LinkedInFacebookInstagramTwitterYoutubeSinogap Solutions Leadership Consulting We help you achieve your company's mission by maximizing the human potential across your workforce.Support the show (https://paypal.me/sinogapsolutions?locale.x=en_US)
SMMARYFor the first episode, I decided not to use this as an opportunity to formally introduce myself and talk about why I started this podcast series. Initially this was a live webcast, but I decided to convert it into a podcast to make it more accessible for my listeners. Some of the episodes you will hear are from the original webcast series and others will be new. At times I will be interviewing experts and entrepreneurs whose companies are leading the way in transforming workplace cultures, and other times, it will just be me, talking about a topic that I am passionate about that is relevant in today’s workplace context.CONTACT INFOCheck out our website to learn more about how we partner with organizations in developing employee and leadership development strategies that will contribute to a company’s ability to continually grow and achieve its mission.LinkedInFacebookInstagramTwitterYoutubeSinogap Solutions Leadership Consulting We help you achieve your company's mission by maximizing the human potential across your workforce.Support the show (https://paypal.me/sinogapsolutions?locale.x=en_US)

SUMMARYIn response to the Me Too and Black Lives Matter movements, we have seen a number of organizations rushing to tick the “Diversity & Inclusion” box, which mostly encompasses unconscious bias training. But when diversity and inclusion strategies do not go beyond basic compliance training, we miss an opportunity to truly to assess how diverse groups may experience our policies, programs, products, and services. The only way we can uncover inequities is to ensure we include diverse perspectives into our decision-making. But many organizations still struggle in figuring out how to integrate diversity, equity and inclusion within their systems and processes. One organization that has successfully integrated D&I into their recruitment strategy, is the Edmonton Police Service, which saw a 61% increase in women recruits and a 118% increase in diversity overall. And one way they accomplished this was with their Recruit Mentoring Academy, which is the only one of its kind in North America! WOMAN UP! SUMMARYThis is our first episode in our special segment series, Taco Tuesday. Taco Tuesday is devoted to highlighting women in business and their efforts and achievements in creating inclusive and equitable societies. When reviewing stats on where the world is at with gender parity, we can see that no single society has achieved total equality between women and men. And although, women are increasingly entering the workforce, gender inequality still exists. It exists in our pay, in leadership positions, funding for new ventures, and mentoring opportunities. My guest today, Christine Channer Auguste, is all too familiar with gender and racial inequities. In spite of those challenges, Christine has achieved over 15 years of success in a variety of industries. Christine shares her experiencers in the corporate world and what led her to move from employee to CEO. Christine’s resilience, belief in herself and ability to pivot, will be inspirational to both women and men alike.SPECIAL THANKSI would like to give special thanks to my stepdaughter, Emily Nash, who came up with the idea of Taco Tuesday and inspired me to launch it! SUMMARY:Brenden is the founder of MasterTalk, a YouTube channel he started to help the world master the art of public speaking and communication. He coaches purpose driven entrepreneurs on how to master their message and share their ideas with the world. When I met with Brenden, I thought our conversation would focus mostly on the skills and confidence to master the art of public speaking, but in actuality what we discussed went a lot deeper than that. Brenden explains how our ability to be successful in our relationships and our businesses is grounded in our ability to communicate. Brenden also provides tangible actions we can all take to start improving our communication skills today.  I learned so much from my short conversation with Brenden, as I am sure you will too. SUMMARYThis week I had the opportunity to interview Paula Campkin, Vice-President of the Safety Centre of Excellence for Energy Safety Canada.Paula shares her experience as to what it is like to work in a male dominated industry, the challenges she faced and how she overcame them. Paula identified there was a gap, other women were experiencing it too, so she did something about it! Paula co-founded the Women in Occupational Health & Safety Society (WOHSS), an organization with the mission to foster the advancement of women working in health and safety in Canada, to build better futures for women in OH&S. WOHSS is dedicated to support, educate, and help facilitate the advancement of women in the Health and Safety field.Paula openly talks about some of the sexism she experienced and the things she did to create awareness in her male colleagues that certain behaviours are not acceptable! This is a great episode for women and men alike. We discuss how men can become authentic allies in the movement towards eliminating the leadership gender gap.LINKSWOHSSLinkedInSinogap Solutions Leadership Consulting We help you achieve your company's mission by maximizing the human potential across your workforce.Support the show (https://paypal.me/sinogapsolutions?locale.x=en_US)
SUMMARYWhat is transformational leadership versus transactional leadership? How do you measure employee productivity? How does leadership influence productivity? These are the questions I explore and answer in today’s Tackle Tuesday episode. I have received so many questions on this topic that I thought it would be best to answer them in one of my episodes. This conversation is the first part of a two-part series. In the first part we explore the balancing act managers play when trying to meet the needs of their organization with the needs of their employees and how we should be measuring employee productivity.LINKSYoutubeLinkedInWebsiteBlogSupport the show (https://paypal.me/sinogapsolutions?locale.x=en_US)
SUMMARYFor this week’s episode I had the opportunity to interview Sheri Benson, who is the principal owner of Thrive Safety Consulting. From the beginning of her career, she believed strongly that a thriving health and safety system requires strong leadership, a clear culture, and the trust in management that comes from consistent support and development of employees. We had our conversation in October, but many of the concepts we discuss are especially relevant to what we are experiencing today as we are now in the second phase of closures and restrictions. Our conversation went beyond what safety is, we discussed…What do you do when your values no longer align with your organization’s?What it was like to launch her own business? But my favourite part of our conversation was when we discussed how to change a company culture that is focused on compliance, towards creating a culture of commitment. LINKShttps://www.thrivesafety.ca/LinkedInSinogap Solutions Leadership Consulting We help you achieve your company's mission by maximizing the human potential across your workforce.Support the show (https://paypal.me/sinogapsolutions?locale.x=en_US)

SUMMARYOne of the most positive experiences I had in 2020 was launching my podcast. It gave me an opportunity to meet with amazing thought leaders, executives, authors, and coaches who have dedicated their life to unlocking the human potential. That is why I was excited to interview Julian Roberts for this week’s Tackle Tuesday episode. Julian is an ICF trained Executive and Leadership Coach who loves working with people and watching them achieve what they can’t yet see, but deep down really want. Although many people say they want to be happy and live a meaningful life, evidence shows us this is not the reality for many of us. That is why my campaign, Leading with Heart – Ignite Your Inner Purpose, is focused on helping others develop a clear vision of their authentic self through the discovery of their purpose. So, when I interviewed Julian, I knew our conversation would not only ring true to me, but to many others as well. Julian and I discuss how to develop a clear understanding of your purpose and the steps you need to take to discover your path for continuous growth. Julian also discusses how to develop the intrinsic motivation necessary to sustain yourself during the most challenging moments in your life. SUMMARYFor this week’s episode I had the opportunity to interview Christina Eanes, a former FBI violent crime analyst and senior manager. Christina is on a mission to help others achieve more in life – mainly by getting out of their own way. In the past, I have openly shared my struggles as a new entrepreneur and how important it has been to develop my resiliency. That is why I was so excited to have Christina on my podcast. Christina has a unique take on how to develop resiliency in self and others – through escape rooms. Christina quickly discovered that the skills necessary to work through an escape room translated well into being successful in life and becoming better human beings. We talked about what an escapelete is and how someone can use escape rooms to develop a grit and growth mindset. If you are seeking support in shifting how you perceive and experience life’s challenges, you have to listen to this week’s Tackle Tuesday. SUMMARYSuccession planning involves having the right people at the right time to fill critical positions in your organization, but yet many organizations don’t have a succession management process in place. From my experience, I have witnessed organizational cultures degenerate to toxic levels because when the CEO left, they took their workplace culture with them. They didn’t think about or plan for a successor, which left the organization exposed to incompetent leadership.  Succession planning doesn’t have to be a complex and multi-layered process. Even the simplest design can have a positive return for a company. This week’s Tackle Tuesday episode focuses on just that!Beth Armknecht Miller, CEO of Executive Velocity, and I discussed how to build leadership pipelines that are integrated into a succession management process that will ensure your company can fill critical positions at the right time to ensure strategic outcomes are achieved. *This episode was recorded in November 2020.
