Happy New Year 2021!    The beginning of a New Year may be the time for resolution for many of us. In those resolutions, we include many new learnings we would like to imbibe into our lives. As we plan to execute on that, one important point we have to remember - more often than not, for us to gain new learnings, we need to make an effort to Un-learn some of our past learnings, to make space for new learnings to come in and we are able to absorb those. And Un-learning is very difficult - as those may have become part of us as habits.   And for us to gain some food for thought, to help us with our own needed Un-learnings, in this episode, I am presenting the snippets of the Un-learnings that the Guests to The Business Developer Podcast have shared in 2020. Business is ALL about People - it is “by” People, “for” People and “with” People! AND, where People exist, CULTURE takes form & shape - even within businesses which may be at one location or spread across the globe.   People and Culture form the bedrock for every business, and bring in sustained competitive advantage over time.   This episode brings focus to “People & Culture” - the key reasons for success or failure for all businesses. To enable me in doing that, I am excited to invite Sukhdeep Aurora, Chief People Officer, ANAROCK as the Guest for today’s episode.    Hope this episode helps you to focus on the People and Culture aspects of your business, as the bedrock for your business, that would bring in sustained competitive advantage for your business over time.   If you would like to carry forward the discussion with Sukhdeep, he can be contacted on LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/in/sukhdeepaurora/) or on email (sukhdeep.aurora@anarock.com) Do give me a high five if you liked this episode. Business Developers need to take up the responsibility of developing businesses that do not marginalize our future generations. The business model of Product-as-a-Service may be leveraged to challenge the existing producers and provide benefits not only for their shareholders, but for the extended stakeholder base.  This episode aims to inspire the community of business developers by challenging them - challenging them to question the established status quo; challenging them to think about their extended stakeholder base, not just the shareholders; challenging them to unlearn past behaviour and practices - and in the process uncover opportunities and develop their businesses, leveraging differentiated business models like Product-as-a-Service   I host Anders Wijkman in this episode, to strive to challenge the community of business developers with different perspectives. Anders brings in diverse and in-depth knowledge and experiences. Anders was elected to the Swedish Parliament in 1970, at the age of only 26 years. In 1978, Anders became the Secretary General of the Swedish Red Cross. During the period pf 1995-97, Anders served as Policy Director of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and Assistant Secretary General of the UN. In 1999, Anders was elected a member of the European Parliament. His work played a role in adoption of a climate act in the Swedish Parliament in June 2017. Throughout his life, Anders has also written multiple books, along with his co-authors, pertaining to sustainability issues.   To learn more about Anders or to contact him, please visit http://wijkman.se/   Hope this episode challenges your established notions or perspectives and provides you with some food for thought. I would also like to encourage you to take up similar discussions with your friends, colleagues and  other business developers - the community of business developers need to take up the responsibility to develop businesses that do not marginalize our future generations.    Do give me a high five if you like this episode. In this episode, we shall learn from the knowledge and learnings shared by Jonas Theodorsson - the co-owner and business developer of Keywordio. Jonas is also a frequent speaker at Google, Royal Institute of Technology or KTH in Stockholm, and Stockholm School of Economics on topics related to growth for global ecommerce companies.   It is important to draw our own learnings from the life situations we face - even from listening to a podcast.   Maintaining a black book of ideas is a smart thing to do for business developers. I have taken that as one of my learnings from the discussion with Jonas.    One hack to increase or deepen our learnings from a podcast episode, that I have heard from an avid listener, is to share and discuss a podcast episode with your friends or family members and be open to diverse perspectives or points of views.    Give it a try and experience how it worked for you. Hope you could gain some ideas, inspirations or food for thought towards developing your business, now or in the near future.   Do give me a high five if you liked this episode. I would also love to hear your feedback and suggestions for improvement. If you would like to get your question answered through The Business Developer Podcast, just record it and email it to me.
