We've got a really sick episode for you this time! Literally, in Tice's case, since at the time of recording he was recovering from a stomach bug and has a raspy/sexy voice from a day of dry heaves. Meanwhile, Becca was also "playing hurt" because we recorded on a weeknight, she was worn out from work, and in her own words, was "subdued". Jay was his usual self, and you, dear listener, may decide whether that counts as a sickness or not.As we move beyond deciding whether Tice curr...
Local actor and Jay's football buddy Aimee Snow joins Jay, Becca and Tice to regale you with tales of the thea-tahhhh, including: Finishing "A Midsummer Night's Dream" with a broken leg , monologues vs. cold readings for auditions (and making out in a callback scene!), judging her schoolmates for not projecting, dealing with visible bruises from fight scenes, and developing her love for Shakespeare. Aimee has acted in many Shakespeare plays including "Macbeth", "The Taming of the Shrew", "The...
Jay, Becca, and Tice sit down with singer, actor, director, and teacher Christine Maxted to talk about her time in "Annie", "HONK!", "Aida" and "9 to 5" (with clips!!), along with how to not ruin your voice, and the various 'tudes of the theatre world. Also, how vocal folds look like vaginas. We then get into a game of "One-Word Song" and raise the spectre of Nanner-Puss, and to find out what that is, you better listen to the whole episode.
A roller-coaster episode for sure! First, Jay shares the story of "Remember the Titans" star Ethan Suplee, and talks weight loss and body dysmorphia as a continuation of his Jay-brain series. Then, Tice directs Becca and Jay through a dramatic reading of a recent storyline of Mary Worth, the long-running newspaper drama-strip about a shade-throwing old biddy fixing everybody's problems. This plot brings back memories for Jay, as it features a handsome dude who just can't stop trying to rescue...
Episode 40: Jay Brain

Episode 40: Jay Brain

2021-08-0101:14:48

Lordy, Lordy...we've reached 40. Appropriately enough for that milestone, we're talking IBS and colonoscopies (although you faithful listeners know that's been our brand since Episode 1). Then, Jay introduces us to the biggest asshole in his life, his own brain, as he leads us in a conversation about self-sabotage and imposter syndrome. Along the way we talk about weight loss and other body changes and how they affect an actor, and we find out that Becca and Tice suffer from Becca Brain and T...
Becca's cat Echo's presence is felt heavily in this episode, which is how we get started with animals in general being salty or invasive. Jay tells us about the Netflix true crime series "The Staircase", and gets us all hooked on imitating prosecuting attorney Freda Black, with her genteel Southern manner and prurient inquiries. Becca has thoughts about Broadway singer Idina Menzel and a few tips for preserving your voice, demos included. Tice, decked out in special holiday duds, talks about ...
Lots going on as we open the pod. After Tice catches us everybody up on Hanukkah and Jay describes a socially-distant performance, Becca shocks when she reveals she doesn't like A Christmas Carol or A Christmas Story, and moreover, she GETS it! (She's very cool with White Christmas, though.) Jay keeps the emotions flowing when he sings the Grinch Song ("You're a Mean One..."), which makes Becca happy, but then shares a "douchey" Yuletide glamour shot (see image), which makes her definitely un...
As we open Episode 19, Becca brings us the neighborhood gossip, and Jay and Tice, in turn, introduce her to the NextDoor app. Jay wants to make it known that he considers it a breach of messaging etiquette, not to mention a waste of his valuable time, to message him without a clear objective, and Tice and Becca, in turn, rag on him about it. We give attention to other scourges of online socialization, like sales pitches from "friends" and pyramid scheme/sex cults. A mentally fatigued Ti...
Tice is back from his vasectomy (teased in last week's episode), and Jay and Becca are digging deep to find out what the surgery was like. And since he was awake for the entire procedure, Tice has answers; including what it's like to chat with the doctors while they were cutting his tubes, what he could see happening below his waist during the surgery, and facts he learned about his skin thickness! Fear not, though-- discussion moves beyond Tice's manly parts as our three so-far childless pod...
We are coming in strong just one day after the 2020 election is called for Biden (at the time of recording), and Becca begins our show by speaking about how glad she is to finally be rid of the caustic source of irritation she did not ask for...the piece of glass that just popped out of her hand after being stuck there for 20 years. It gives everyone a chance to share about injuries old and new. Then Tice begins the first installment of the GameShowVember with a tribute to Match Game, in whic...
Episode 14 sees Jay sharing his favorite thing on the Interwebs after ass-kicking nuns: a little something starring televangelist Kenneth Copeland and Covid-19. It also has Becca's yoga journey, including lots of helpful tips and encouraging words to newcomers. It even includes Tice sharing gym dos and donts. But an undercurrent throughout this show is Jay and Becca's own little version of the war on Christmas: Jay thinks it's fair game to put up Yuletide decorations as soon as Halloween has ...
We’re back with lucky Episode 13! Unlucky number or not, this is the perfect episode for us because Jay, Becca and Tice welcome fabulous DMV theatre actor and singer and one of their biggest fans, Stacy Crickmer!!After, Jay, Becca and Tice discuss the perils of using public bathrooms, Stacy tells us all about her time in the THEATAH, including being part of the original production of Moby Dick The Musical! We also discuss crushes on animated characters, Garfield conspiracy theories and ...
Episode 12: Hump Away!

Episode 12: Hump Away!

2020-10-2501:16:56

We have company again! Today we're graced with the presence of Kim Braswell, local actor and "Kitty-Paws" buddy to Becca (you'll have to listen to really understand that...). We begin the podcast talking about the genesis of their friendship and their memories of competitive karaoke, both of which involve a surprising amount of humping and dildoes! Then it's on to fretting over the latest cuts to the Taco Bell menu, and the wholesome Pornhub star who washes dishes. In both cases...
Halloween is creeping in on Between 2 Butts! Episode 11 begin with a review of Hocus Pocus from a first-time viewer and stories about Hocus Pocus cosplay. THis ends up as a discussion on the proper spelling of Bryan/Brian. Keeping on the costumes theme, Becca talks about gender-bent cosplay, including her own adventures dressing up as male characters. October also marks the 70th anniversary of "Peanuts", as well as the Peanuts Halloween special, so Tice shares a list of Peanuts characters who...
Wow, it's a landmark episode: Number 10! And as we cross into our double digits, we see Jay consider re-branding the podcast as a wrestling trio, complete with a hype-filled promo. Along the way, he shares why he loved professional wrestling and why he hates hearing people say it's fake. Meanwhile, Tice is already wrestling, but it's with his past, specifically his worst-ever childhood Halloween costume. Then, Becca is ready to shock the world by revealing the movies she's never seen. No spoi...
In this week's show, we welcome as our guest improviser and comedian Carlic Huynh! We start by recapping the audition where Jay, Tice and Carlic met for the very first time, then go over some of Carlic's comedic influences. But we stray from the point on this show, and soon enough we're talking about chipmunk love, the many floors of the Museum of Sex, and the dreaded face-penis. But stay with us, and Becca will teach you about sleep paralysis and Exploding Head Syndrome, and then we'll all p...
Zounds! It's a beautiful pumpkin spice morn and Tice is contemplating cow udders, but Jay brings distraction in the form of what may be called "Gutter-billy": a folk/metal track called "Y'all Motherfuckers Need Jesus" by the Goddamn Gallows, accompanied by a video of ass-kicking nuns. After Becca and Jay comment with their own experiences with nuns and the Catholic church, Tice re-lives his pre-podcast morning, but through a Shakesperean filter, with some dialogue coaching by Jay. Then Becca ...
Episode 07: Excommunicated!

Episode 07: Excommunicated!

2020-09-1301:07:18

Tice debuts shiny new recording equipment, and he puts Jay and Becca through the Myers-Briggs and Kiersey personality sorters with a crispness never heard before. But soon enough, his fortune reverses and he becomes completely inaudible, leaving Jay and Becca to their own devices. His powers unchecked, Jay wastes no time in getting at the Catholic Church, laying out his thesis for how he would make Communion more delicious. Becca keeps things grounded with the last(?) installment of her healt...
Episode 06: Buttspell!

Episode 06: Buttspell!

2020-09-0501:07:16

We have a guest butt!! It's our very own music man, Matthew Scarborough, composer of our theme song and all the incidental tunes here on the pod. He shares a bit with us about how he creates our intro music and the many variations we've asked him for, and then, together with Jay, gives us a sneak preview of their long-awaited collaboration -- Butthurt: The Musical!!! Meanwhile, Becca delivers another installment in her review of the comedy of errors that is our body. This week, the Great...
Come join our bubble! It's nice here when nobody's having a flare-up. Jay goes through a gamut of emotions this week as first we talk about some theatre pet peeves, and then we review an accordion-tastic episode of The Lawrence Welk Show (linked below), which deals Jay a crushing disappointment. But then, Becca tells the story of an incident with IBS, including a costly misdiagnosis, and Jay's mood turns right around! With everyone's feelings in balance, we test each others' skill at separati...
