In the mosaic of Christian life, each piece—each revelation from God—adds depth, color, and clarity to our collective understanding of who God is and what He intends for His creation. 1 Peter 3:15 challenges us not merely to hold these revelations close but to share them openly, prepared to articulate the hope within us. This readiness to share is not about having all the answers but about inviting others into the transformative journey of faith we're on, marked by encounters with the divine that shape, challenge, and comfort us. Let's delve into how sharing God's revelations with others can fortify our faith, edify the church, and witness to the world. Our springboard for today’s discussion is: 1 Peter 3:15 - "But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect."The essence of this scripture lies in the balance of readiness and demeanor. It calls for a heart posture that holds Christ as sacred, a life that evidences hope, and a readiness to share the source of this hope. This sharing is not to be confrontational but characterized by the gentleness and respect that marks our Lord's interactions with those around Him. The personal revelations we share are testimonies of God's faithfulness, wisdom, and love, demonstrating the living reality of our faith.Multiple Points of "Focus Training":* Cultivate a Relationship with God: Deepen your personal relationship with God through regular prayer, meditation, and study of the Scriptures. In a relay race of faith, where the baton of divine truth is passed from one generation to the next, the act of sharing what God has revealed to us becomes a pivotal leg in the journey. The apostle Paul's exhortation to Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:2 captures the essence of this spiritual succession, urging believers not only to cherish the revelations received from God but to also entrust them to others who can carry the message forward. This deliberate act of sharing is more than a transfer of knowledge; it's the propagation of a legacy, a cultivation of disciples who can, in turn, disciple others. Our springboard for today’s discussion is: 2 Timothy 2:2 - "And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."Paul's model of discipleship outlined in 2 Timothy 2:2 underscores a dynamic process of learning, living, and leading. Sharing what God has revealed isn’t merely about recounting personal experiences or insights; it's about investing in others, equipping them with the understanding and wisdom to navigate their own spiritual journeys and to guide others along the way. This process ensures that the transformative power of God's revelations extends far beyond our individual lives, influencing countless others across time and space.Multiple Points of "Focus Training":* Pray for Discernment: Seek God’s guidance in identifying those to whom you should entrust what He has revealed to you. Pray for discernment in recognizing faithful individuals who are eager to learn and share.* Live Authentically: Model the truths God has revealed to you. Authenticity in your walk with God provides a powerful testimony that reinforces the lessons you share.* Teach Intentionally: Invest time in teaching others, not just in formal settings but in everyday interactions. Use opportunities to impart wisdom and insights God has given you.* Foster Relationships: Build deep, meaningful relationships with those you are discipling. Spiritual mentorship thrives on mutual respect, trust, and genuine care.* Encourage Questions: Create a safe space for questions and doubts. Encouraging open dialogue strengthens understanding and fosters growth.* Provide Resources: Share resources that have helped you grow in your faith. Books, sermons, articles, and personal notes can be invaluable tools for others.* Celebrate Growth: Acknowledge and celebrate the spiritual growth and milestones of those you mentor. Affirmation can be a powerful motivator in the discipleship journey. Conclusion: The call to share what God has revealed to us is not just an invitation to speak but to spark a chain reaction of spiritual growth and multiplication. As Paul instructed Timothy, so we are encouraged to invest in others, passing on the torch of divine wisdom and understanding. This act of sharing extends the kingdom of God, builds the body of Christ, and glorifies God through the collective advancement of His people in truth and love.Call to Action: This week, identify someone in your life whom you can begin sharing what God has revealed to you. Commit to meeting with them regularly, investing in their spiritual growth and equipping them to share with others.Question of the Day: Who has played a significant role in sharing God's revelations with you, and how can you replicate that impact in someone else's life?Let's Pray: Heavenly Father, thank You for the revelations You’ve entrusted to us. Empower us by Your Spirit to share these truths with others, investing in their spiritual growth and preparing them to disciple others. May our efforts multiply the knowledge of Your glory and grace throughout the world. Guide us in this mission, and help us to faithfully pass on the torch of Your truth. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.As we embrace our role in this divine relay, let us do so with dedication, wisdom, and a heart full of God's love, knowing that each act of sharing can ripple through generations, drawing many into a deeper understanding and relationship with our Lord. In the echoing halls of history, the voice of God has always sought out those willing to listen and, more crucially, to relay His messages to the world. In Matthew 28:19-20, we are handed the mantle of responsibility, a divine commission that transcends mere proclamation to include the mentoring of souls in the ways of Christ. This journey of discipleship is not a solo venture but a collective endeavor, enriched by the sharing of personal revelations and divine insights. It’s in this sacred exchange that faith is deepened, communities are strengthened, and the Kingdom is built. Our springboard for today’s discussion is: Matthew 28:19-20 - "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."The Great Commission extends an invitation to each of us to participate in God's unfolding story, not merely as followers but as bearers of His word. Sharing what God has revealed to us—be it a comforting word, a challenging truth, or a deeper understanding of Scripture—becomes a pivotal way we live out this commission. It’s how we “teach them to observe” the ways of Jesus. Such sharing, rooted in love and obedience, becomes the very essence of making disciples, inviting others into a deeper relationship with Christ.Multiple Points of "Focus Training":* Prayerful Preparation: Start with prayer, asking God to highlight what He wants you to share and prepare the hearts of those who will receive it.* Personal Reflection: Regularly reflect on what God is teaching you through His word, prayer, and life circumstances. Being aware of what God is doing in your life is the first step to sharing it with others.* Openness to Opportunities: Be attentive to opportunities God provides to share your insights and revelations. This could be in conversations, meetings, or even through digital communication.* Cultivating Humility: Approach sharing with humility, recognizing that it’s God’s message, not our own. This posture invites grace into the conversation and acknowledges God as the ultimate teacher.* Practicing Clarity: Seek to share God’s revelations clearly and simply, making them accessible to others. Sometimes, the most profound truths are shared in the simplest terms.* Encouraging Feedback: Invite feedback and discussion from those you share with. This can provide insights into their spiritual journey and how God is working in their lives too.* Continuous Learning: Be a lifelong learner of God’s word and ways. The more you grow in your understanding, the more you can share with others. Conclusion: The call to share what God has revealed to us is a sacred trust and an essential component of our Christian walk. It’s through this sharing that we fulfill the Great Commission, drawing others closer to Christ and nurturing the body of believers. As we step out in faith, sharing our revelations and insights, let us do so with the assurance of Christ’s presence with us, “to the end of the age.”Call to Action: This week, intentionally share a piece of what God has revealed to you with someone in your community. It could be a word of encouragement, a newfound understanding of a scripture, or a testimony of God’s faithfulness.Question of the Day: What holds you back from sharing what God has revealed to you, and how can you overcome these obstacles?Let's Pray: Lord, empower us with the courage and wisdom to share Your revelations with others. Help us to be attentive to Your voice and bold in our obedience to share. May our words bring life, encourage faith, and contribute to the making of disciples, as You have commanded us. Thank You for Your presence with us, guiding and supporting us in every step. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.As we venture into our days, let us be mindful of the divine encounters and conversations waiting to unfold. The practice of dedicating the first moments of your day to God is not just a discipline; it's a lifeline to divine wisdom, peace, and strength. Inspired by Mark 1:35, we are reminded that even Jesus, in His earthly ministry, sought the quiet of dawn to commune with the Father. This act of dedication is a powerful testament to the value of starting our day with focused time in God’s presence, aligning our hearts with His will and purpose for our lives. Our springboard for today’s discussion is: Mark 1:35 - "And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed."This passage underscores the intentional choice to seek solitude and communion with God, emphasizing the importance of making this a priority in our daily lives. This could be a specific room, a corner of your home, or even a spot outdoors where you can be alone with God.* Engage in Prayer: Start with prayer, presenting your day and yourself to God. Use this time to express gratitude, seek forgiveness, and present your requests and concerns.* Meditate on Scripture: Choose a passage or verse for meditation. Let the Word of God speak into your day, guiding your thoughts and actions.* Listen Attentively: After prayer and Scripture reading, spend time in silence, listening for God’s voice. This practice develops spiritual sensitivity, enabling you to discern His guidance.* Journal Your Insights: Keep a journal of your prayers, thoughts, and any insights or promptings from God. Ask for His blessing, protection, and wisdom as you step into the day. Conclusion: The practice of beginning your day with God, following the example of Jesus, is a transformative discipline that enriches your spiritual life and equips you for daily living. My Fearless Warrior,In the sacred quiet of this day, I extend to you an invitation, one that has echoed through the ages, yet is as personal as a whisper in your ear. Remember the promise I made through my servant Jeremiah, "Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known" (Jeremiah 33:3). This is not merely a verse to be admired; it's an active, open channel of communication between us, a divine lifeline always available to you.The essence of our relationship is conversation. Like any loving parent, I delight in hearing from My children. Your voice, your thoughts, your needs, and your praises stir My heart deeply. This invitation to call upon Me is a reminder that I am always listening, always ready to speak, always eager to reveal more of Myself to you. It's in the place of prayer—a place of humility, honesty, and heart-to-heart connection—that the most profound exchanges happen. When you initiate this conversation, when you call out to Me, you open the door to endless possibilities. I will respond with insights and revelations, guidance, and wisdom that transcend human understanding. I will share with you great and hidden things—truths about My kingdom, insights into My will, and revelations of My heart—that you have not known.Understand, My beloved warrior, that these revelations are not just for your enrichment but are also keys to unlocking the mysteries of My plans for you and the world. They are insights that will empower you, guide you in your battles, and illuminate the path I've laid before you. However, hearing My voice and discerning My will begins with your initiative in prayer. It's a step of faith, a declaration of your dependence on Me, and an acknowledgment of My sovereignty in your life. As you reach out to Me, do so with the expectation that I will indeed answer you. Come with a heart open to receive, ears attuned to hear, and a spirit prepared to act upon what I reveal.Let this be your daily rhythm, a constant coming to Me with all that you are and finding all that I am. Never hesitate to call upon Me, for My line is never busy, My ear never deaf to your voice, and My heart never indifferent to your call.As you walk through this day and all the days to come, let prayer be your first response, not your last resort. And as you call to Me, know that I am already leaning in, ready to speak, ready to reveal, ready to deepen our connection. With all My love and a promise to always answer,Your Almighty FatherMy Reasons To Believe is a reader-supported publication. In a world that often communicates in shouts and spectacle, the divine prefers a different approach: the whisper. This gentle mode of conversation, as revealed in 1 Kings 19:11-12, invites us into a place of close proximity and profound attentiveness to God. Elijah’s encounter with God on the mountain stands as a timeless lesson that the Almighty doesn’t always speak through thunderous events but often chooses the quiet, intimate whisper. Today, we explore how to cultivate our spiritual senses to discern this still small voice amidst the cacophony of our daily lives. Our springboard for today’s discussion is: 1 Kings 19:11-12 - "And after the fire a still small voice."The narrative of Elijah not only highlights the personal nature of God’s communication but also challenges our expectations of how God should speak. In a moment of despair and isolation, Elijah experiences God not in the grandiose but in the simplicity of a whisper. This encounter underscores the importance of quieting our inner and outer worlds to become receptive to the nuances of God’s voice. It teaches us that hearing God more clearly is less about seeking dramatic signs and more about tuning into the subtle, often overlooked whispers where His guidance often resides.Multiple Points of "Focus Training":* Daily Quiet Time: Dedicate a specific time each day to silence and solitude. Use this time not just for silent prayer but to sit in quietness, creating space for God to speak.* Mindful Meditation: Meditate on Scripture, especially focusing on passages that depict God's character and His ways of communication. Let these verses guide you into deeper reflection on how God might be speaking to you now.* Nature Walks: Spend time in nature, away from the noise of technology and daily tasks. The simplicity of God’s creation can help attune your ears to the divine whisper.* Journaling: Keep a journal of your thoughts, prayers, and any inklings or nudges you sense might be from God. Writing helps clarify thoughts and patterns, making it easier to recognize God’s voice over time.* Spiritual Discernment: Pray for the gift of discernment, asking God to sharpen your ability to distinguish His voice from your thoughts or external influences. Conclusion: Hearing God's voice in the whisper demands a posture of intentional listening and a heart willing to find Him in the unexpected. By adopting practices that foster spiritual sensitivity, we open ourselves to the depth of God’s guidance, spoken in the quiet moments of our existence. Elijah’s encounter on the mountain reminds us that God is both near and speaking; it’s upon us to quiet the noise and listen.Call to Action: Choose one of the "Focus Training" practices to incorporate into your week. Commit to this practice with an expectation not only to hear from God but to grow in your ability to discern His gentle whispers in your life.Question of the Day: When have you experienced God’s guidance through a still small voice, and how did it impact your decision-making or perspective?Let's Pray: Lord, in the stillness of Your presence, we seek Your voice. Teach us to quiet our hearts and minds in a world that never stops speaking, that we may hear Your gentle whispers above all else. Grant us the sensitivity to discern Your guidance, the patience to listen, and the courage to follow Your lead. May we, like Elijah, find Your strength and wisdom not in the earthquake, wind, or fire but in the whisper of Your presence in our lives. Amen.As we move forward, let the quiet moments become sacred, a divine appointment to hear from the God who speaks in whispers. May our pursuit of silence become the fertile ground where our relationship with God grows and flourishes, and where His voice becomes the guiding force in our lives. My Reasons To Believe is a reader-supported publication. Navigating the complexities of modern life, with its cacophony of demands and distractions, calls for guidance that transcends human wisdom. The voice of the Shepherd promised to us in John 10:27, offers not just direction but a profound assurance of being known and led by the Divine. Understanding and responding to this voice, however, requires more than passive listening; it necessitates an active, intentional cultivation of our spiritual senses. Today, we delve into the practice of tuning our hearts to the frequency of God’s voice, ensuring that amidst life’s noise, the call of the Shepherd remains clear and compelling. Our springboard for today’s discussion is: John 10:27 - "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me."This scripture is a powerful reminder of the relational nature of our journey with God. It speaks of a mutual recognition — we know His voice, and He knows us intimately. This familiarity with God's voice doesn't happen overnight; it's cultivated through consistent engagement with His Word, prayer, and the quiet contemplation of His presence. It's in these moments of close communion that we learn to distinguish the Shepherd’s voice from the many others vying for our attention.Multiple Points of "Focus Training":* Daily Scripture Reading: Make a habit of starting your day with the Word of God. Let Scripture be the first voice you hear, setting the tone for your day and tuning your heart to God’s frequency.* Prayerful Listening: Incorporate moments of silence in your prayer life, focusing on listening rather than speaking. Ask God to speak to you and wait in expectation.* Journaling: Keep a spiritual journal where you document your prayers, thoughts, and any impressions or directions you feel God is giving you. Reviewing this journal can help you discern patterns and confirmations of God’s voice in your life.* Community Interaction: Share your experiences of hearing God’s voice with trusted friends or a spiritual mentor. Often, God confirms His messages through the body of Christ.* Obedience: Act on the guidance you receive. Obedience fosters a deeper sensitivity to God’s voice and builds trust in His leadership. Conclusion: Hearing God’s voice is foundational to walking in His ways and fulfilling the unique call He has on our lives. Like sheep attuned to their shepherd's call, we are invited to cultivate a familiarity with God’s voice that guides us through the valleys and mountains of life. It’s a journey of intentional practice, of turning our hearts toward Him daily and listening for His guidance amidst the clamor of our days.Call to Action: This week, choose one "Focus Training" method to integrate more deeply into your routine. Whether it’s setting aside time for Scripture before your day begins, or entering into moments of silent prayer, commit to a practice that enhances your attunement to God’s voice.Question of the Day: What challenges do you face in recognizing God’s voice, and how can you address them through your "Focus Training" practice?Let's Pray: Lord, we thank You for the promise that Your sheep hear Your voice. Help us to cultivate hearts that are attuned to You, discerning Your guidance in every aspect of our lives. Strengthen our desire to know You more, to recognize Your voice amidst the noise, and to follow You with unwavering trust. Lead us, Shepherd, for we are Your sheep, eager to respond to Your call. Amen.As we move forward, let us carry the assurance that our Shepherd is always speaking, guiding, and walking alongside us. May our lives reflect the depth of our relationship with Him, marked by a keen awareness of His voice and a swift willingness to follow where He leads. In tuning in to the Shepherd’s call, we find not just direction but a profound sense of belonging and purpose in the embrace of the One who knows us by name.My Reasons To Believe is a reader-supported publication. Dear Faithful Ones,In the stillness that followed the storm of our Lord's crucifixion, my heart was heavy, laden with grief yet clinging to a sliver of hope. As Mary Magdalene, my life was irrevocably changed by Jesus, the one who saw me not as I was, but as I could be. From the depths of despair, He lifted me, casting out the shadows that had long ensnared my soul. And in the wake of His death, I found myself clinging to His promise, a promise of life beyond the grave. The seventh day of Holy Week, a Sabbath, was veiled in silence and sorrow. The earth had quaked, the skies had darkened, and our Savior had breathed His last. Yet, in the quiet mourning of that day, something within us stirred—a yearning, a hope, an unspoken belief that death could not hold the author of life.As dawn approached on the first day of the week, we, the women who had walked the roads of Galilee with Jesus, ventured to His tomb. Our hands carried spices, our hearts heavy with love, intending to anoint His body. But what we found was beyond comprehension—the stone rolled away, the tomb empty, the promise of resurrection unfolding before our eyes.Angels greeted us, their words a balm to our weary souls: "He is not here; for He has risen, as He said" (Matthew 28:6). In that moment, the weight of despair lifted, replaced by awe and wonder. Jesus had defeated death, and in doing so, He had changed the course of history.Compelled by a love that knows no bounds, I ran to share the news with the disciples, with you, with the world. The empty tomb stands as an eternal testament to Jesus's victory over death, an invitation to all who seek life everlasting. In the days that followed, Jesus appeared to us, His followers, offering peace, commissioning us to share the good news of His resurrection. I, who had been delivered from darkness, was now a bearer of the Light of the World. This is the message I bring to you, beloved followers of Jesus: He is alive, and because He lives, we too shall live.Let us hold fast to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful. Let us love as He loved, serve as He served, and walk in the newness of life that His resurrection affords us. In the face of doubt, may we be a testament to His life-changing power. In moments of despair, may we be a reflection of His enduring hope.As we remember the events of Holy Week, let our hearts be drawn to the cross, where love was displayed in its fullest measure. And let us rejoice in the empty tomb, for it is there that our hope was sealed, our salvation secured.May the peace of the Risen Lord be with you always, guiding you from darkness into His marvelous light. And may the joy of Easter, the triumph of the resurrection, fill your hearts with unending praise. With love and gratitude,Mary MagdaleneMyR2B and our Podcasts are free, aimed at educating and inspiring Christians worldwide.
