As a business owner myself I’m always thinking about ways to market my business, as well as helping clients market their business. Since moving to Tasmania and becoming a mentor for the government supported Digital Solutions program I have learned that people in my local community really value face to face mentoring and workshops. Let's talk about analysing your Facebook ads results. We'll talk about what to look at, what it means and I know that Facebook Ads Manager gives you a lot of data which can be quite overwhelming if you're not familiar with it or if you don't know what you're looking for. When you open up the dashboard, you'll be presented with the default columns that focus on performance and there are some other options you can go into performance and clicks but it probably still doesn't mean much to you. I’m guessing that this is going to be one of the least listened to episodes based on the topic. I’ve been in this business for over 9 years now and most people still don’t like numbers. Once upon a time I didn’t like numbers either, or rather, I thought I wasn’t good with numbers. Complex math gives me the shivers, but using numbers to inform me or to tell me a story is totally my thing. So when I say that business, funnels and ads are all math, I mean the storytelling type. I’m not asking you to do complex math, or if you do want to do that I’m not your girl. I like to look at data and decipher what it’s telling me. When you start marketing your business you’ll get certain responses on what you’re doing, at least I hope you do. For example, when you post on social media you’ll start seeing like and receive comments. You’ve probably noticed how busy the online landscape is. Especially now that Meta has added a new platform, Threads. If you haven’t yet jumped on and know what it is, it’s basically similar to Twitter. There’s no need for polished images or perfectly written captions. It’s a place where you can be yourself and simply have some banter, at least so far that’s what I’ve noticed. You might be resisting because it’s ‘yet another thing’ and I’m hearing you. It’s exactly why I don’t have a Tik Tok account. I just can’t add another thing to my already full social media platform plate. I usually resist for a long time but somehow I jumped onto the Tread wagon really quickly, and I like it because I don’t have to come up with perfect content. I can just ‘chat’. So yes, things are busy and noisy which makes it much harder to stand out as a business. Even in the advertising space it’s crowded and ads are competing for attention. It’s more important than ever to be able to create something that stands out and the first thing that stands out in the feed is your creative aka your image, carousel or video.
