My mom made this during the Christmas holidays when I was growing up.  It’s so amazingly delicious- there’s one Christmas my siblings and I don’t remember eating anything except pecan pie!  Day and night, those pies were our “fuelings”.Quick Southern Pecan Pie1 cup of sugar1/4 Cup melted butter1/2 Cup corn syrup (I used to use dark, but have been using the clear Karo for many years now)3 well beaten eggs1 Cup pecan halves1 uncooked pie shellMix sugar, syrup, and butter, add eggs and pecans. Fill unbaked pie shell with mixture and bake for 10 minutes at 400°, then for 30 to 35 minutes at 350°. Serve either cold or hot. Hello Everyone!  The Show is back!  This is very brief episode to bring you up to speed on what's been going on.Something I didn't mention in this episode is what I found most surprising about my run for the Local School Board!  I discovered that many of the community members who supported my campaign and who felt aligned with my platform were people who do not even have children in the local school district.  Many of them fell into the following categories:- Young couples with either no children or very young, non-school aged - Empty nesters who have no school aged children- Parents of children who are homeschooled - Parents of children in local private schoolsBelieve it or not, and this is a small private college town, and several of my supporters have NOT even lived in the State for a full year yet!These discoveries really struck me; I couldn't help but take note.  Of course I, as a parent of school aged children feel school boards and the decisions their members make are a BIG DEAL.  But there is something to be said when people who have no direct "skin in the game" are just as involved as those of us who do.  I was very encouraged and motivated when I came to this realization.  It really opened my eyes to the significance of the American spirit and how people who care will get involved no matter what. #ChampionforChildrenCheck out my Campaign Webpage.  It will be up through November 2021. https://aamarschean.poliengine.com/I'd  love to hear how you're enjoying the podcast! Rowe is a Senior Principal Engineer with The MITRE Corporation.  His professional career spans nearly 47 years.  Throughout this period, he has made important contributions to both government and industry.  Dr. Rowe spent a significant portion of his career as an Intelligence Officer in the United States Army.  A Viet Nam era veteran, he served in positions of increasing responsibility during the Cold War in the Federal Republic of Germany and in the United States (US).   As a Systems Engineer, Dr. Rowe has helped to shape the direction of several major Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) programs, including the FAA’s Automation Modernization program, the US National Airspace Redesign Program, and the National Special Activity Airspace Project.  As a Subject Matter Expert on Special Use Airspace (SUA), he led the development and deployment of a nation-wide capability for the DoD to submit daily automated SUA schedules and disseminate them to all stakeholders in the National Airspace System. In 2005, Dr. Rowe organized an ACT/SAT Score Improvement Team consisting of West Point graduates, and some non-graduates, to work with diverse candidates to help them improve their ACT and SAT test scores.  This Team contains flag officers, field grade officers, company grade officers, and civilians.  Many members of this Team have served on the staff and faculty at West Point, including in the Admissions Office.  As a direct result of Dr. Rowe’s leadership, his Team has assisted hundreds of high school students in most of the 50 United States, and in a few US territories and foreign countries, attain qualifying scores to attend West Point and the West Point Prep School.  Many of these candidates have graduated from the Academy and are now serving on active duty throughout the world.... During the past three decades, Dr. Rowe has had extensive interaction with the admissions offices of the US Air Force Academy, the US Naval Academy, and the US Merchant Marine Academy.  He has helped many students qualify to attend these academies... Dr. Rowe is a recipient of the National Black Engineer of the Year Award for Professional Achievement in Industry, and the Union League of Philadelphia’s “first ever” Alumni Achievement Award.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point.  He earned a Master of Science degree in Engineering (Computer Science) from The George Washington University, and a Master of Education degree (Counseling) from Boston University.  Dr. Rowe holds a Doctor of Science degree in Engineering (Computer Science) from The George Washington University. Dr. Rowe is married with 4 children.  His wife is a retired Army Officer and each of his children are graduates of the United States Military Academy.

I couldn't recall what USUHS stood for during the podcast so here it is!USUHS  Defined:  The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences offers a number of health sciences educational programs open to military and/or civilian students   I asked folks in our on-line community to shoot me some questions they'd like answered and they did!  So I'd like to tackle one of them now:Question: What have you learned from all of us you've interviewed in these past 25 episodes?
