Have you ever been misinterpreted or criticized by something you said? Are you trying to navigate the challenges of cancel-culture while maintaining your commitment to speaking the truth?  My friend Tim Ross, and my guest on today’s show, is a podcaster, social media influencer, author, and preacher who’s had his experiences with controversy and conflict, both in public and on social media. Tim shares how he remains unashamed in speaking the truth. He also provides insights on: Responding to criticism  Handling conflict in a mature and loving manner Addressing strong language and misinterpretation Anyone who has a public platform knows that there will always be online criticism and sometimes controversy. Knowing when not to engage is important. Having a space for people to be seen, heard, known, and loved is important for healing from this and other types of trauma. Navigating cancel-culture involves staying true to one's beliefs and not being swayed by public opinion. Responding to criticism and controversy should be done with maturity, love, and a willingness to engage in dialogue. Do you have a calling as a woman in ministry or in leadership and are facing opposition and resistance? If God called you, He will make a way! I’m always in awe at the stories that I hear from other women in ministry. Some knew their calling from early on. Others, like me, found themselves “unintentionally” entering into ministry and how my ambitions and desires changed over time because of God’s call in my life. No one said this would be easy. That’s why I share my stories in order to encourage you. I remember how I: Faced rejection from seminary   Was asked to step down from leadership roles  Encountered opposition and resistance along the way Understood my calling and committed to personal growth Despite the challenges, I want you to know that if God calls you, He will make a way. My commitment is to God and to sharing His word. Don’t let difficulties discourage you from pursuing your calling. Stay away from comparison and surround yourself with truth-tellers that will help you persevere and not give up.  Friend, it all starts with you. Remember: Be what you want to see! Share your story of perseverance by tagging me @biancaolthoff. XO B RESOURCES/LINKS Bianca Juarez Olthoff - Women in Ministry Quote Don't compare your calling to someone else's. Do what the Lord has called you to do and let Him do the rest.  Takeaways God's calling often unfolds gradually and unexpectedly, and it may require us to step out of our comfort zones. Rejection and opposition can be discouraging, but they should not deter us from pursuing our calling. Women in ministry often face unique challenges and may encounter resistance from both men and women. If God calls you, He will make a way for you to fulfill your purpose. Preaching the word of God should be the focus, regardless of gender or societal expectations. Representation and inclusion are crucial in leadership spaces, and efforts should be made to invite and welcome diverse voices. Men should take responsibility for creating an inclusive and respectful environment for women in leadership. Women in leadership face unique challenges, including the pressure to navigate communication and appearance expectations. Leadership is not easy, but it requires perseverance and a commitment to personal growth. Women should find their voice and be patient, understanding that their calling may take time to fully develop. Surrounding oneself with truth-tellers and receiving constructive criticism is essential for personal and leadership growth. Individuals should strive to be the change they want to see in the world, creating a more inclusive and equitable environment. ⋇ Convoy of Hope - Empowering Women and Girls Together Donate here ⋇ Order Bianca’s new book GRIT DON’T QUIT ⋇ The Grit Don’t Quit Bible Study is now available. ⋇ So grateful to our sponsors! Do you find it hard to make sense of the different views on sex in culture? Is it time for you to reevaluate your view of sex? Join me on today’s episode to have an open and honest conversation on… sex. Society keeps sending mixed signals on what sex is all about. I want us to discuss the topic of sexual boundaries but from a Biblical perspective. It's high time we redeem the narrative that the enemy has stolen from us! That is why we will explore:  God's original, good, and divine design for sex  Biblical view of sex vs. Cultural view Freedom from sexual shame  We all need practical handles on sexual boundaries in marriage and for singles. Because of that, I’m highlighting the importance of respect, communication, accountability, and non-sexual intimacy.  Sex was God's idea! He intended it for our good. Don’t let the enemy steal that from you. I want you to know that whatever has happened in your life, you can find forgiveness through Jesus and develop a personal intimate relationship with Him. Do you know how to establish healthy boundaries in your life? Are your boundaries clear to you and to others? Today we start a new series on just that! This week, I’ll be discussing the importance of drawing clear boundaries and how they can elevate your life. There have been instances where I have allowed my boundaries to be crossed - like a tiny incident I had at an airport. That and other experiences have taught me to be very aware of when my boundaries are being crossed. In this episode, you will walk away knowing: The need for clear boundaries Finding healing through grieving How God created boundaries to bring order out of chaos Consequences for broken boundaries We will also explore the different types of boundaries, including physical: sexual, emotional, spiritual, and financial boundaries. If this is your case, I want you to know that I’m so sorry for the hurt that you have experienced.  My friend, Pastor Larry Brey, from Elevation Church, and I sat down to discuss the topic of church hurt and how to overcome it. Our goal is to parse out the realities of:  Dealing with and overcoming Church hurt Recognizing offenses and processing them early Practicing gratitude and focusing on personal growth  Church hurt is real. It could stem from a misunderstanding or something else. Please remember, the church didn’t hurt you, a person did. That’s why it is important to speak up and share your hurt. Takeaways Detoxing from toxic practices and diet culture is essential for embracing food freedom. Trusting our bodies' natural processes and listening to our internal cues is key to recalibrating our sense of health. Intuitive eating is a self-care framework that helps us make peace with food and make choices that align with our values. We owe no one a number on the scale and have the right to refuse unnecessary weight checks. Are you aware of diet culture infiltrating safe spaces like school or church? Everyone is on a journey of their own. I want to make sure that as we talk about the impact of diet culture in the church, that we do it from a place of love, kindness, grace, health, and healing. I believe that we can have meaningful conversations around the topic of weight by: Being receptive to the needs of others Extending grace and not shaming or judging others Considering everyone’s individual circumstances Friends, as you continue to walk with God, remember that He is compassionate and gracious. Ask Him to guide you as you grow in relationship with Him and learn to separate yourself from diet culture. Food is a gift from God!  Tag me @biancaolthoff and @leslieschilling and let us know how this conversation has transformed your mindset around food. Love, B RESOURCES/LINKS Guest Leslie Schilling: https://www.leslieschilling.com/  Book: Feed Yourself: Step Away from the Lies of Diet Culture and into Your Divine Design  IG: https://www.instagram.com/leslieschilling/ FB: https://www.facebook.com/NutritionLeslie  Quote Is it really biblical to be chasing a number on the scale? Takeaways Diet culture has infiltrated the church and made it an unsafe place for discussions about body image and health. The 'body as a temple' verse has been misused to shame and judge others based on their appearance. Fasting can be practiced in a healthy and holy way, but it is important to consider individual circumstances and avoid harmful behaviors. Alternative fasting options, such as abstaining from social media or comparison, can be just as meaningful and impactful. Self-discipline should be redefined as honoring hunger and taking care of our bodies, rather than pursuing a specific body size. Toxic detoxes should be avoided, and emotional eating should be addressed with the help of therapy or other forms of support. ⋇ Convoy of Hope - Empowering Women and Girls Together Donate here ⋇ Order Bianca’s new book GRIT DON’T QUIT ⋇ The Grit Don’t Quit Bible Study is now available. Does it seem like everywhere you go someone is asking you for your weight? Are you tired of obsessing over the number on your weight scale? Real talk - I’m tired too!  Let’s be honest friends, talking about weight issues is uncomfortable. That’s why Registered Dietitian and Nutrition Therapist is back with us for day 2 of The Weighting Game series. Today we discuss: The issues with the scale  Bodies are miracles, not math Weight-centric training and health The flaws of BMI and Body Fat Percentage Recognizing disordered eating and body grief Determining health and wholeness beyond numbers There are so many dangers in pursuing an unrealistic body image. We need to recognize that body diversity is important in our society and that there is no one-size-fits-all definition of health. Overall health and well-being start with healthy connections and relationships. Let’s make it a goal to prioritize holistic health and freedom from diet culture. You are not alone, friend. Tag me @biancaolthoff and @leslieschilling and share how you are finding food freedom in your life. Love, B RESOURCES/LINKS Guest Leslie Schilling: https://www.leslieschilling.com/  Book: Feed Yourself: Step Away from the Lies of Diet Culture and into Your Divine Design  IG: https://www.instagram.com/leslieschilling/ FB: https://www.facebook.com/NutritionLeslie  Quote We have to come to grips with the fact that you may never be in the body that this culture promised you. Takeaways Weight-centric training and the focus on the number on the scale can be harmful and perpetuate diet culture. Health is multifaceted and cannot be determined solely by weight or body size. Body diversity is important, and there is no one-size-fits-all definition of health. Connections and relationships play a significant role in overall health and well-being. BMI is not an accurate or reliable measure of health, and body fat percentage should be considered instead. Disordered eating can manifest in various ways and is not limited to extreme cases. Determining health and wholeness should involve regular nourishment, movement, good relationships, and self-care. The goal is to prioritize holistic health and freedom from the constraints of diet culture. ⋇ Convoy of Hope - Empowering Women and Girls Together Donate here ⋇ Order Bianca’s new book GRIT DON’T QUIT ⋇ The Grit Don’t Quit Bible Study is now available. love the show but (and this has nothing to do with the host) I can't stand that bell used around commercials. It's especially distracting when driving.

Absolutely unbelievable! I found Bianca through IF Gathering years ago and recently started her Ruth study on Right Now Media. I decided to look her up just to see if she had a Podcast because I love how REAL she is. This podcast does not disappoint! She really does "go there" with topics that Christian women need to hear but are hard to listen to. Keep bringing it, girl! ❤️

This podcast is so real and raw and God's timing is always perfect in my life. I love the way Bianca stops the conversations sometimes and tells you how she's feeling and gives deeper insights to the topics. Just the fact alone that she had the courage and strength to write a letter to her abuser and read it out loud was just inspiring. And the fact that it was an unplanned episode but hit so home for me is just God. I am already excited for the next episode no matter what it's about!

wow!! so good. i can totally understand this oh so well. i was molested by a family member when I was 12 years old. the only person who truly believed me was my mom and step sister because the same person was doing it to her. speed up 10 plus years later I had a memory that 2 other family members touched me badly as well but wasn't nearly as bad when I was 12. if that makes sense. thank you for sharing. I feel alot of woman are too scared to come forward because no one will believe them. been there it sucks. but i feel the more we talk about it the more justice will come to those!
