In this episode of Blind Techie Geek Speaks, media philosopher Kathleen Masciana is joined by cohosts H, O, and V for a thoughtful conversation about Thomas Aquinas: How can we study divine things if we cannot fully understand God’s nature? Together, they explore how faith, reason, and the limits of human understanding shape his answer. #BlindTechieGeekSpeaks #ThomasAquinas #FaithAndReason
In this episode of Blind Techie Geek Speaks, 25-year-old Kathleen Masciana shares the voting barriers she faced on Election Day 2026. With no accessible voting machine available for her to use, she needed a sighted assistant to help fill in the circles on her ballot and complete the sign-in process because she cannot write by hand. Although she appreciated the assistance, the lack of accessible options left her feeling discriminated against because of her disability. Kathleen calls for voting machines with Braille controls, accessible alternatives to handwritten sign-in, and trained staff so blind voters can vote independently. Her message is clear: accessibility belongs in every step of voting, and blind voters deserve more than assistance—they deserve options and independence. #AccessibleVoting #BlindVoters #DisabilityRights
Celebrated Halloween on October 31, 2026 by hanging out at Frankie & Augie’Z restaurant in Yorktown New York
In this episode of Blind Techie Geek Speaks, media philosopher Kathleen Masciana is joined by her co-host, H, for a thoughtful discussion of Thomas Aquinas’s four kinds of law and the importance of serving the community. Together, they explore the transition from classical to modern political thought, making these ideas accessible through clear explanations and everyday examples.
In this episode of Blind Techie Geek Speaks, media philosopher Kathleen Masciana and cohost H explore whether power and freedom are absolute or conditional—and how virtue and vice shape what it means to be truly free. Drawing on Plato’s Gorgias and Epictetus’s teachings on self-mastery, they examine the difference between having authority over others and being able to guide our own choices. Through relatable examples, from winning an argument to responding to anger, they consider why getting our way doesn’t always mean we’re in control. They also distinguish inner freedom from external rights and opportunities, recognizing that good character alone cannot make unfair circumstances disappear. This thoughtful, conversational episode asks: Are we choosing wisely, or are fear, desire, and the need to win making our decisions for us?
