Description

Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden have made a living for their coverage skills on the football field, and while it's a different technique, they're now applying those traits on their podcast 'All Things Covered'. Instead of wide receivers, tight ends and running backs, they'll be covering sports, entertainment, social issues, personal interests and more. Every Wednesday, the 8-time Pro Bowler Peterson and 2-time Super Bowl champion McFadden will discuss what's happening on the gridiron as well as what intrigues them off the field. Each week they'll welcome a star from the sports and entertainment world to have wide-ranging conversations about what interests them. Guests can include active or former football players but also athletes and influencers from other sports and walks of life. Football is how we know our hosts, but far from what defines Pat and BMac. The name says everything; expect all things to be covered! You can also watch us on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/AllThingsCovered

In honor of 'Cardinals Week' for the Vikings and Pat P, we had to bring on an Arizona legend and Anquan Boldin certainly fits the bill! Quan joins us to discuss his upbringing in Pahokee, Florida, to arriving at Florida State as a quarterback and leaving Tallahassee as a wide receiver. He played well in college, but dominated once he got to the pros, winning Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2003. Boldin remembers just how bad the Cardinals roster was when he got to Arizona and his feelings when the organization drafted Larry Fitzgerald #3 overall the very next season. What does he think Fitz's chances are to return to the NFL and AZ? AB eventually won a title with the Ravens, but the 2008 Super Bowl loss to the Steelers still haunts him. We transition to his time in Baltimore which included some heartbreaking losses but also some amazing wins. Anquan is eligible for the Hall of Fame next year and shares his thoughts on potential induction before the Superlatives part of our show! In 2009, host Bryant McFadden met longtime sports broadcaster James Brown at the NFL's media bootcamp for active players. BMac used that advice from JB and now has this podcast where he gets to interview one of his mentors and one of the icons of the business. The two discuss everything from Brown's athletic background to the challenges of being a minority in the industry. They cover JB's life and career from trying out for the Hawks, appearing on Married...with Children and being the first person to interview Michael Vick after his release from jail. James shares a project that he's working on with Tony Dungy and how we can continue to take steps in the fight for social justice. Finally, we learn some insight on the cast of the NFL Today on CBS.  Check out Beyond the Game from Tony Dungy and James Brown: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCio5hXSCphLfejRZ_Y-cTZA 'All Things Covered' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox and wherever else you listen to podcasts.  You can listen to All Things Covered on your smart speakers! Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden link up to cover all things! First, the guys discuss the issue of vaccinations in the NFL (1:45). As Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said, it will be much tougher for players this season if they aren't vaccinated. Pat P talks about why being vaccinated will not only help yourself but the team as a whole. We then transition into SKOL Check-In (8:15), where we cover Danielle Hunter's presence at minicamp, a scary situation for a Minnesota rookie and the potential of the defense. 'Has Pat Heard!?' continues to put P2 to the test (17:15) and '7 Questions' asks which former CB would our CBs like to play alongside the most (22:30)! New York Giants 2nd-year safety Xavier McKinney joins Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden to break down his football journey (28:00). Xavier speaks about his college career first , including why he chose Alabama over Clemson, Nick Saban's future with the Crimson Tide and practicing against Tua Tagovailoa, Jalen Hurts and Mac Jones. McKinney also takes us through his short time in the pros so far, commenting on slipping on draft night, his first INT vs. the Cowboys and holding a grudge against the Eagles for how they handled Week 17. How does he expect the G-Men to perform in 2021? Watch for his confidence level in Daniel Jones PLUS Superlatives. The ban has been fully lifted as we welcome more former Miami Hurricanes to the show. Antrel Rolle joins former teammate Bryant McFadden and now former fellow #21 on the Cardinals Patrick Peterson to discuss his journey through college and the pros. But first, BMac and P2 chop things up starting with a focus on Juneteenth, what the league is currently doing to promote social justice and what they can do better. Next, SKOL Check-In covers all things Vikings as Pat P compliments Justin Jefferson for his attitude and route-running ability and offers his impressions on both Kirk Cousins and Kellen Mond. 'Has Pat Heard!?' ends up taking an interest in Larry Fitzgerald's future and if there's any chance he joins Minnesota. '7 Questions' answers who is the best wide receiver in the NFC South. Then, the All American, 1st-round pick & Super Bowl champ, Antrel Rolle adds to our secondary. He discusses choosing UM over Florida, being a freshman on that memorable 2001 team and Sean Tayor's exploits at the college level. Rolle had the chance to cover both Calvin Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald in college and details who was better back then. We cover his 2 pick six game vs. the Bengals in 2007, making the switch to safety and his time in Arizona. That's followed by a Super Bowl focus including his role in James Harrison's INT return TD, Santonio Holmes' catch and Eli Manning's ability to step up in the biggest moments. Antrel also discusses this year's Giants team before tackling Superlatives! 50 episodes in, we're still celebrating firsts on All Things Covered. On this episode we connect with our first defensive tackle guest and probably the strongest person who has ever appeared on the show. Derrick Brown of the Carolina Panthers joins Patrick Peterson and Bryant McFadden (36:00), to cover his football journey, which at one point in time looked like it was going to be a basketball journey. But first, P2 and BMac chop it up on the aging process for athletes as Pat details how he treats his body and mind differently as he gets older (1:30). Then, it's time for "SKOL Check-In" as Peterson comments on the Vikings addition of Bashaud Breeland to the secondary (12:00). 'Has Pat Heard!?' truly puts him to the test with sports and non-sports items (17:00), while '7 Questions' has our guys answer the Top 5 coaches they ever went up against (28:15). Then it's time to bring on the man in the middle, Derrick Brown (36:00). DB discusses how he ended up as a football player and then how he ended up at Auburn, while remembering some epic matchups against Georgia, Alabama and Clemson. He explains all that power and explosion through some of his lifting exploits before tapping into his pro career with the Panthers. Brown shares some of his goals entering his 2nd season and what to expect from a Carolina defense featuring Brian Burns, Jaycee Horn and other promising players. Derrick tells Patrick and Bryant the craziest rookie obligation he had last year and how much he had to spend on dinner. Finally, Superlatives!
