An introspective episode as our founder, Victoria Ferguson, reflects on her perspective of where and how she's grown individually and as a brand since launching Season One Episode One of the Empathy Everywhere Podcast, until Season Two Episode 18.
This is Episode 16 ‘Healing Through Helping’ with Kelsey Carignan. Kelsey is a mother of two and was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer at 32 who decided to share her breast cancer journey online when she realized there was a lack of relatable and real content available. After undergoing a bilateral mastectomy and eight aggressive rounds of chemotherapy, Kelsey is now in remission and is using her voice and knowledge to empower and uplift others in similar experiences with her platform Vibrant Yogi. Vibrant Yogi is an online self-care and wellness hub focused and founded on kindness, positivity and connection. Vibrant Yogi has partnered with Rethink Breast Cancer Canada for its Get One Give One program. She lost her ADHD brother in 2019 from an addiction-related death and additionally seeks to spread awareness around the increased risk of addiction for those with ADHD.

We discuss how there is often more offence surrounding the word ‘rape’ more than the action itself & the damage that rape culture can cause, What is consent & how we can add this to our societies dialogue, How not feeling safe affects our mental health/wellness, & Applying the same dialogue for men as the media/people do for women.

Unable to experience effective healing from Western medicine, Nicole was led to the sister sciences of yoga and Ayurveda. Deeply transformed by living the Ayurvedic lifestyle, she shifted from the corporate world into becoming a wellness coach, Ayurvedic Health Counselor, and a yoga teacher. Spending her time sharing the wisdom of Ayurveda, yoga, and behaviour-change science to support others on their own wellness journeys and self-realization, Nicole guides her clients into adopting the habits that ignite the bodies natural ability to heal and thrive.
