Our discussion today is with Jerry Hawkins, the Executive Director of Dallas Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation. DTRHT’s mission is to create a radically inclusive city by addressing race and racism through narrative change, relationship building and equitable policies and practices. Our conversation takes us to Jerry’s early years in Chicago and his start in the non-profit space. It weaves in how his artistic, scholarly and historical interests intersect with his experience of being a black leader in the non profit space to influence how he leads and supports his organization today.  Brian Joseph, the Founder of RevJen joins our conversation as well.

Gerald Chertavian, the Founder and CEO of Year Up joins us to talk about his organization and his twenty-year leadership journey in the nonprofit sector.  Year Up's mission is to close the Opportunity Divide by ensuring that young adults gain the skills, experiences, and support that will empower them to reach their potential through careers and higher education. In Gerald’s own words: “Our goal isn’t to just build bridges, it’s to close divides. We don’t want young people to have to walk over bridges because of inequity and social injustice”. Brian Joseph, the Founder of RevJen joins our conversation as well.
Joining us today is Alejandro Gibes de Gac, the Founder and CEO of Springboard Collaborative. Springboard Collaborative is a nonprofit that helps address the summer learning loss through parent engagement. Alejandro talks about his own experience as the son of immigrants for whom education was a significant priority and how he had to fall in love with the problem to create a scalable solution.  Also joining the conversation today is Brian Joseph, the Founder of RevJen.

Our discussion today is with Peter Chasse, the Founder and CEO of The Water Project Inc.  Peter tells the story of how an invitation to come to Kenya to work on clean water kicked off his journey and the nonprofit he leads. This invitation and other significant moments along the way changed how Peter, a former internet marketer and pastor, and the organization approach relationships and ultimately, how they do their work.  Brian Joseph, the Founder of RevJen joins us for this conversation as well.
Building Revenue

Building Revenue

Built to Serve is obsessed with the how of creating sustainable revenue, outstanding leaders and successful non profits.  We interview smart, creative humans that in their day jobs are non-profit leaders, influencers and funders. We seek out their stories,  the exhilarating highs and the sometimes painful lows that non profits experience in working to achieve their mission. During our conversations, we celebrate the power of changemakers.  Staci Tubbs is a recently converted for profit leader and a curious, sometimes edgy seeker of good stories and moments of transformation.  New episodes are released twice a month on Tuesdays.
