We’re back with part two of the new series I’d introduced last week with Dave Meisel, the EVP of Operations with Quanta Services. Last week, Dave spoke about sustainability and some of the consequences that many people – including myself – don’t always think about when it comes to the push to electrify a fleet. This week Dave is back to speak about what we can look forward to in fleet - from electric vehicles to maintenance, operational efficiency trends and so much more.-----Show notes for this episode can be found at: https://www.utilimarc.com/blog/2021-fleet-trendsDo you have a request for an upcoming Fleet FYIs episode? You may know that electrification is not a “jump-two-feet-in-immediately” technology. There are a lot of pros and cons to weigh out – whether or not it works for the type of work your fleet does on a daily basis, if your region is suited to hosting an electric fleet (with its current infrastructure) and whether or not your organization is willing to do a deep dive into it’s data to ensure the return on their investment is worth it.This week on the Fleet FYIs Podcast I’m joined by the Executive Vice President of Operations for Quanta Services, INC., Dave Meisel, and we begin to dive into some of the consequences that aren’t always brought up in conversations when it comes to fleet electrification – and why understanding your data is always a crucial aspect to integrating new technology into your fleet.------Show notes for this episode can be found at: https://www.utilimarc.com/blog/fleet-electrification-consequences/Do you have a request for an upcoming Fleet FYIs episode? Ann speaks to the pivot EUFMC navigated this year for their newly announced digital 2021 conference, as well as how they plan to move forward in future.-----Show notes for this episode can be found at: https://www.utilimarc.com/blog/digital-fleet-networking/For more information on the upcoming EUFMC conference, head to their website: https://eufmc.com/Do you have a request for an upcoming Fleet FYIs episode? We're relying on analytics more heavily than ever before - and it seems even more so by the day, by the hour and by the minute. But the thing is, we've got so much data literally at our fingertips, and it can be kind of overwhelming. Most people can become overwhelmed just by looking at an analytics dashboard because it's almost at the point where you just don't know where to start. And it's understandable. For today’s episode, we've got George Survant joining us. George is a highly experienced Fleet Director, having managed massive and highly competitive vehicle fleets nationwide. He's going to open up a discussion on data application and how fleets can best use their data to make informed decisions within their management strategy. You can find the show notes and transcript for this episode HERE.
This week on Fleet FYIs, we're chatting all about budgets. In this episode our host, Gretchen Reese, is  joined by Utilimarc senior analyst, Paul Milner.  Paul primarily works on custom solutions for clients and right-sizing initiatives. With the company for nearly ten years, he helps find the stories and solves problems within complex data sets, making him the perfect person to dig a little deeper into this topic.Today, Paul and Gretchen begin to break down what can be expected from the shockwaves of COVID-19 in relation to fleet budgets, the after-effects and some of the parallels that can be drawn from previous crises like The Great Recession in 2008-2009.  Fleet growth and decline is something to be expected, as economies are always changing and there will always be ways to better optimize your fleet. For some, it may be that they need to undertake a rightsizing initiative, for others, more extreme measures. Either way, looking at your fleet data will allow you to be better equipped to deal with any factors that may affect your annual budget or operational strategy.-----Show notes for this episode can be found at: https://www.utilimarc.com/blog/budget-cuts/Do you have a request for an upcoming Fleet FYIs episode?
