This week I chatted once more with Craig Barr. We talked about Rutland Water, how it has fished this season, and what to expect in the coming months. He also shared his must-have flies for success this September and October. Plus, he talks about his recent trip to BC, where he caught Chum Salmon up to 30lb and Sturgeon over 8ft!!!!!Enjoy!
For this week's podcast episode, I talk about the sedge hatches, which have been very poor and sparse this past month. Hopefully it is down to the high water temperatures holding the hatches back. It's not only us anglers keen to get the cooler water to bring on the sport; both the fly life and trout are also waiting. I tell the story of past experiences when rain and cooler water followed the hot weather, which brought great success. Let's hope the next week or so will bring the sedge hatches we are waiting for and the trout back on the feed.
