Join me and Colin as we dive deep into Silent Hill: Townfall! We discuss the developers behind the game, its development history, unique gameplay mechanics, and the twisted story that unfolds in the fog. We also break down all the different endings and what they mean, so expect plenty of spoilers along the way! After our deep dive into Townfall, we answer your Patreon questions and wrap things up with a couple of well-earned Platinum shout-outs. Whether you're a longtime Silent Hill fan or just looking to see what this latest nightmare has to offer, we've got plenty to discuss!
Warmest of welcomes everyone This month on the Mooglecast, Max and Zac are joined by a new guest, Kyle a.k.a. KingK6969, a well known name from the Trophy Talk Discord. After a very healthy preamble, the guys dive into the return of platinum shoutouts with only the right amount of tangents. Cactuar vs Tonberry sees the final new challenges for the year issued to Max and Zac. All that’s left now is to finish everything they received. Zac takes us back to The Record where he highlights a newly added player and the start of a brand new category highlighting some games that may not appear in the current series titles. What We’ve Been Playing starts with Max as he goes through a healthy amount of blood, gore and bad smells with a very interesting collection of games. Kyle has just one game as he continues his 1 game at a time mentality with a relic of a bygone era. Zac rounds off the segment with some finished adventures and one that just doesn't want to stop giving. The meat and potatoes for the month is the return of Pitch Me Volume 2. Max starts the guys off by diving into his thoughts on bringing a very special card game, Final Fantasy TCG to the virtual world. Zac takes a very familiar game to him, PowerWash Simulator and dares to dream bigger and better in his attempt to design a 3rd game in the series. Kyle takes the episode home with what a game idea that you really need to hear for yourself. Coming up in November, Max and Zac will go back to their roots with a return to a Final Fantasy centric episode so look forward to that. But until then…. Be excellent to each other. Zac
As we head into the Halloween season, Madeline Stanley is back and has picked for us the incredibly scary and tense Outlast II. They cover all things to do with the game including each of their history with the series, the story in this game, and the best scares that got the best of us. This isn’t exactly a spoiler-cast, but they do talk briefly about it and how having a strong knowledge of the first Outlast game influences our understanding of the story in this one. There are many ways to interpret the story and Kevin and Madeline try to make sense of a few of the theories they found online. The real magic of the game here though is in those moments when it makes you run, hide, and face your fears against your nightmarish pursuers. We hope you enjoy hearing about our run through Outlast II and that it gets you to venture through this game as well, if you’re into getting the pants scared off you that is.
Hello one and all, and welcome back to another episode of Trophy Talk! In this, our 149th episode, we go back to our roots a bit with not one, but two trophy list reviews and discussions! That's right, Josh and I (Colin) take a look at the Toy Story Retro Roundup List, as well as Toem 2's trophy list. Did these smaller titles do it right with artwork, creative trophies, and good distribution? Well, as you can imagine it's a bit of a mixed bag but that doesn't mean we aren't excited to check both of them out! In addition to trophy list reviews, we give a meaty and lengthy update on the PSN top 10, go over Platinum's earned from our Discord community, and touch on some moments in recent memory that sent a chill down our spine, in honor of spooky season. Thanks very much for listening, and we hope that you enjoy the show!
Hello one and all, and welcome back to another episode of Surviving the Horror! On this month's episode, as we inch closer and closer to the start of Spooky Season, Josh and Colin look far back into the era of the late 90s to tackle one of the most well regarded titles in the Resident Evil franchise, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. Originally conceived of as a spin off title, Re3 Nemesis is unabashedly more action centric than its predecessors with greater weapon variety, a dodge mechanic, a quick turn, and of course the persistent enemy known as Nemesis. As neither Josh, nor Colin had ever played the original title, but did have experience with the Remake from 2020, this was a fun one to look at and explore. Having played both versions of the game now, do Colin and Josh agree that the remake fell way short of its potential? Is the Clock Tower a truly necessary set piece that absolutely needed to be included? The answer to these questions and more, is just behind the play button. Thank you for listening!
