On July 2, 1991, Eldon Maguan, a 25-year-old engineering student, was driving around Wilson Street in San Juan, Metro Manila. Wilson was said to be a one-way street, and Eldon knew about it as he was the one that followed traffic rules. Unfortunately for Eldon, even those who profusely follow traffic regulations do not exempt them from being victims of violent crime. It is where then-43-year-old Rolito Go, a construction magnate, comes into this tragic story. While Eldon was minding his own business and following the street's one-way rule for vehicles, Rolito was coming from the opposite direction. As soon as both Eldon and Rolito's vehicles came head-to-head, this infuriated Rolito. He took out his gun, went out of his vehicle, came over to Eldon's car, and cold-bloodedly shot the innocent young man in the head. In the wee hours of July 13, 1991, three young people, two boys, and one girl were on their way to bring their female friend home to her residence in Dasmariñas Village, Makati City. Suddenly, the three encountered an angry middle-aged man that didn't seem to mind the business of others. He started snooping on the youngsters and began questioning them on why they were outside at that time of the day. This incident turned into a heated altercation. Moments later, the middle-aged man shockingly pulled out his pistol and shot all three of them, which caused the lives of Roland John Chapman and Maureen Hultman. The other victim, Jussi Olavi Leino, was the sole survivor of this infamous case. Authorities were able to find out the identity of the suspect after three witnesses came forward and described what they saw from that unfortunate day. This episode was suggested to us by Ms. Emerald Sigua, who participated in our Donate For A Case program in partnership with the Rotaract Club of Taguig through their relief efforts intended for the victims of Typhoon Odette. A body of a 19-year-old boy was found chopped into pieces and buried at a private compound in Barangay Ampid Dos, San Mateo, Rizal. Days before the gruesome crime happened, a crucial eyewitness saw three young men wandering around the crime scene. Meanwhile, investigators assigned to the case also uncovered a CCTV placed near the compound, which caught the suspects pushing a wheelbarrow that seemed to contain the body of Lyndon Masinsin. On January 16, 2004, authorities in Hopewell Township, New Jersey, found a lifeless body belonging to a Filipina inside her Sports Utility Vehicle covered in snow in the bottom of a ravine near her residence. Initial investigations suggest that she was a victim of foul play made to look like an accident. The gruesome killing of Michelle Rivera Nyce was one of the most sensationalized cases on the East Coast of the United States that involved having affairs, extortion, jealousy, and anything opposite to being nice. High school sweethearts are couples that tend to be the strongest and happiest partners. Unfortunately for Maya's case, her long-lasting relationship with her husband had become toxic up to a point where she became missing up to this date. Maya was last seen by her family at around 5 p.m. on January 7, 2021, at her residence on Paseo Los Gatos in Chula Vista, San Diego, California. Based on numerous statements from close relatives and friends, both May and her husband, Larry, were having relationship problems that would have concluded in a divorce and possibly the reason why Maya became missing. Chop-chop lady cases in the Philippines have been among the most infamous incidents that caused public outrage in almost every decade since the first-ever chop-chop lady case happened to Lucila Lalu in the 1960s, which was never solved. Lucila was the first to fall victim to this kind of gruesome killing; however, she would not be the last. In the early 1990s, another chop-chop lady case would shock the entire nation after the mutilated body of Elsa Castillo was found in Barangay Polong, Sta. Rosa, Laguna. On the morning of September 27, 1993, a crucial witness came forward to the authorities and reported that he helped his employer dispose of the body of Elsa Castillo. She was chopped into pieces and placed into four garbage bags. WEBSITE ▸ https://phmurderstories.com Episode notes and sources are found here! On April 28, 1949, a former first lady of the Philippines was traveling to her husband's hometown for the Quezon Memorial Hospital's inauguration in Baler.  Unfortunately, a group of armed men blocked the 13-vehicle convoy along a mountainous road in the province of Nueva Ecija.  A group of 100 to 200 perpetrators fired at a Buick sedan containing Aurora Quezon; her daughter, Baby; her son-in-law, Philip Buencamino, husband of Aurora's other daughter, Nini. Before the scheduled trip, Aurora Quezon's trusted confidants already advised her that there is a threat of insurgency along the routes that her convoy will pass through. However, the former first lady shrugged off the risks.  WEBSITE ▸ https://phmurderstories.com Episode notes and sources are found here! On July 10, 2001, a Filipino family of three was found murdered inside their residence in North Ryde, New South Wales, Australia. Initial reports suggest that the crime was racially motivated. However, further investigations say otherwise and their findings would later on shock the entire country that was almost fooled by the killer. In January 1977, Primitivo “Tibo” Mijares, a journalist and former chief propagandist of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos, suddenly disappeared. Tibo left the Marcos regime in 1974 and went to the United States, where he had issued a defection statement, vowing to tell the lies and atrocities that the Marcoses had done during his time of service. From 1974 to 1977, the former Marcos confidant made headlines due to his prior knowledge regarding the devious wrong-doings that the Marcoses were currently practicing at the time. Four months after Tibo's disappearance, his youngest son, 16-year-old Luis Manuel “Boyet” Mijares, was found dead in the mountains of Antipolo, Rizal. Nearby residents at the scene claimed that Boyet was thrown off from a military helicopter passing by the area. WEBSITE ▸ https://phmurderstories.com Episode notes and sources are found here! One of the most gruesome murders towards an overseas Filipino worker happened in 2016 when authorities from Kuwait discovered the body of a missing Filipina placed in a freezer at an abandoned apartment. The gruesome discovery of her remains sent shockwaves across the overseas Filipino community. It caused public outrage back in the Philippines.  Joanna Daniela Demafelis was a 29-year-old OFW who flew to Kuwait in 2014, hoping to find work and provide her family with a bright future. Unfortunately, she never made it back to the Philippines after encountering a ruthless husband and wife in Kuwait that heartlessly ended her life. PH Murder Stories would like to dedicate this story to the millions of overseas Filipino workers discriminated against and treated as low-class citizens in other countries. "The dead cannot cry out for justice. It is a duty of the living to do so for them."  WEBSITE ▸ https://phmurderstories.com YOUTUBE ▸ https://bit.ly/3sm11n4 SOCIALS ▸ Facebook — https://bit.ly/33xXEAm ▸ Facebook Discussion Group — https://bit.ly/3lbKGOS ▸ Instagram — https://bit.ly/33BL03r ▸ Tiktok — https://bit.ly/2F4a8pY ▸ Twitter — https://bit.ly/3no4jFq ▸ Telegram Channel — https://t.me/phmurderstories SUPPORT US ON PATREON ▸ https://bit.ly/3iNyiD0 AFFILIATE LINKS ▸ Lazada — https://bit.ly/3zQ68kk ▸ Shopee — https://bit.ly/3zIZ7Bv Make sure to use these links before filling up your carts to support the PH Murder Stories team! On May 11, 2021, 20-year-old British-Filipina Caroline Crouch was found dead in the attic of her own home in Glyka Nera, Greece, after her husband, 33-year-old Babis Anagnostopoulos, initially claimed that three men barged inside their home, tied him up, tortured, and killed his wife in front of their 11-month-old baby girl named Lydia, and stole £30,000 British pounds worth of cash and jewelry. This case gained international attention due to an alleged robbing incident that included the heartless act of killing a woman in front of her family. It makes us wonder how three men who overpowered Caroline's family of three would need to kill her if they only planned to rob them? Nevertheless, the incident alarmed the Greek police, who vowed to discover what truly happened to the young Filipina mother.
