Critics accused Dr. Phil of endorsing Trump's views and not holding him accountable, calling the interview a display of favoritism rather than an impartial journalistic approach.
At a Trump campaign event, Rep. Byron Donalds claimed that Black families were more unified during the Jim Crow era, attributing post-1960s challenges to Democratic policies. His comments, suggesting Black people were better off before civil rights advancements, drew sharp criticism from leaders like Rep. Hakeem Jeffries and prompted demands for an apology for misrepresenting a painful period in American history. Donalds defended his remarks, clarifying that he was referencing family structures, not endorsing Jim Crow.

Dr. Anthony Fauci reported increased death threats following criticism from Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene during a COVID-19 pandemic congressional hearing. Greene's hostile comments included denying Fauci's medical title and accusing him of crimes. Jason Whitlock on Blaze TV's "Fearless" compared WNBA rookie Caitlin Clark's challenges to Jackie Robinson's racial barrier-breaking MLB entry in 1947, suggesting Clark faces a new form of adversity, including racism and anti-heterosexual sentiment within the league. He argued that Clark, unlike Robinson, battles immense pressure and a hostile environment that threatens her mental well-being and could potentially break her spirit. Whitlock highlighted Clark's dependency on her team for success, unlike Robinson who had more control over his individual performance.

He faces an extensive appeals process and three additional criminal cases, adding complexity to his political and legal future.

The trial continues as Trump describes it as a politically motivated witch hunt.
Jury deliberations began in Donald Trump’s hush money trial with a diverse jury of 12 New Yorkers tasked with deciding the case. The former president faces 34 counts of falsifying business records related to a $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels, which he allegedly misrepresented as legal expenses to conceal its true purpose. Trump, maintaining his innocence and denying the affair with Daniels, criticized the trial as unfair. Deliberations follow intense closing arguments and include detailed jury instructions on assessing evidence and witness credibility.
At a press conference held by Biden's campaign outside Trump’s hush money trial courthouse, actor Robert De Niro and Jan. 6 officers criticized Trump, warning against his potential re-election. Donald Trump's Bronx rally attracted between 8,000 to 10,000 attendees, exceeding the park's permit limit of 3,500. Held in Crotona Park, this was Trump's first NYC rally since 2016. Despite some claims of 25,000 attendees, law enforcement estimated about 10,000. The rally aimed to demonstrate Trump's appeal in traditionally Democratic areas and engage with black and Hispanic voters. Trump discussed the economy, migration, and crime during his speech.
