On this round of Inside The Clinch, Eric and Pulat discuss the release of UFC legend Diego Sanchez. Joshua Fabia, Diego's coach, has strained the relationship between the fighter and the promotion, as well as effecting Diego's family relationships. Donald Cerrone has taken another loss; whats next for him? The boys discuss who could be Cowboy's next (and possibly final) opponent. Neil Magny got his hand raised over Geoff Neal and Khamzat Chimaev is setting his eyes on a new target! Anthony Rumble Johnson had a successful MMA return when he knocked out Jose Augusto in the second round. Shortly after his win, he got arrested and is potentially facing felony charges! The boys also give their prediction for this weekend's event, UFC 262: Charles Olivera vs Michael Chandler for the UFC Lightweight! Tony Ferguson vs Beniel Dariush will be going down in the co-main event of the evening.  All this and more on Round 24!Website: Insidetheclinch.comContact us: info@insidetheclinch.com
On Round 23 of Inside the Clinch, John and Eric break down the historic UFC 261 Kamaru Usman vs Jorge Masvidal. This card had 3 title fights including Jorge Usman vs Kamaru Masvidal, Wei Li Zhang vs Rose Namajunas, and Valentina Schevchenko vs Jessica Andrade. Also on the card was former UFC champion Chris Weidman who took Uriah Hall in rematch which did not go as planned. To kick off the main event, former LHW title challenger Anthony Smith took on a young Jimmy Crute. Similarly this fight did not go as planned for Crute, and we break it all down.UFC Fight Night this Saturday is low-key stacked!Dominick Reyes (12-2) will be taking on Jiri Prochazka (27-3-1) in a LHW bout. After KO’ing Weidman in 2019, Reyes has lost consecutively to Jon Jones (controvesial) and more recently to the Polish Power aka LHW champ @jan . Prochazka, the former @rizen champion is currently on a 11-fight win streak and is as tough as they come. In the co-main, we have Georgias Giga Chikadze (12-2) who will be taking on fan-favorite and UFC veteran Cub Swanson (27-11). Chikadze is an exciting fighter currently on a 7-fight win streak and is extremely dangerous on the feet. In my opinion, this fight is ‘stepping stone’ fight for Chikadze. A win over Swanson will surely get him more widely recognized by the MMA community. This and the remainder of the card is discussed on this weeks edition of Inside the Clinch. Website: Insidetheclinch.comContact us: info@insidetheclinch.comBuzzsprout - Let's get your podcast launched! Big nights for both Vadim Nemkov and Corey Anderson as they move along the Bellator LHW Grand Prix bracket. UFC 261 Usman vs Masvidal 2 will be featuring 3 title fights! We had the pleasure of interviewing one of Bellator's rising prospects, "Magic" Norbert Novenyi Jr. At only 21 years old, he is currently undefeated at 5-0 including 4 submission wins. He tells us how he got into this sport, some goals he wants to achieve, and the story behind his nickname. This young fighter is eager to make a return as soon as possible! On Round 18 of Inside the Clinch, for the first time John and Eric are joined by their former wrestling and judo teammates Pulat, and David; two  accomplished martial artists in the sport of judo/ sambo, and wrestling. The boys recap a UFC 259 card that did not necessarily live up to its full potential of being "the best card of all time"  as we thought it would, but it was definitely and exciting and controversial one. We dedicate a lot of time to talk about the championships fights on this card. Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya put his undefeated record on the line by fighting the current light-heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz. The greatest female on the planet, Amanda Nunes defends her featherweight strap against the highly regarded Megan Anderson who is now a free agent?? Perhaps the most controversial and disappointing fights of the night was between LAW MMA's Aljamain Sterling and American Top Team's former bantamweight Champion Petr Yan. The card also included top light-heavyweight contenders in Aleksander Rakic and Thiago Santos along with former Bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz, and Islam Machachev, the cousin of Khabib Normagumedov,  who absolutely made a statement in the lightweight division on Saturday night.  This weekend  we have another Fight Night headlined by Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad. On Round 15 of Inside the Clinch, Eric is joined by Max, a longtime friend/teammate and former national judo champion in the mens 55KG weight division. Another exciting week in the combat sports world has passed us by. Kamaru Usman defends his welterweight belt against his former BJJ world champion and number #1 contender teammate, Gilbert Burns. Many people thought that Burns would be the man to de-throne Usman, however Usman had other plans last weekend. We break down this fight in its entirety along with the remaining UFC 258 PPV card. Following the fight there has been a lot of chatter on what's next for the welterweight division with Usman hinting at moving up in weight. We breakdown the full story and give our thoughts on a plausible and realistic scenario. But that will all wait on the sidelines, as we have 2 top contenders in the heavyweight division set to clash this weekend. #2 Curtis Blaydes will be taking on the hard hitting and always entertaining #4 Derick Lewis. The Super Bowl is OVER! Tom Brady has now won more championships than anybody in NFL history! But of course, we were also spoiled with 2 combat sports events! On Friday,  former UFC fighter Paige VanZant made her BKFC debut. As predicted, the fight didn't go her way. However, we cannot say the same for former UFC middleweight Chris Leben who stepped into the ring for the last time in his career.  We give our takes on both performances, and on the promotional aspect of BKFC. If that wasn't enough, on Saturday we had UFC Vegas 18. Two absolute MMA legends in Alistair Overeem and Frankie Edgar lost in devastating fashions to rising prospects Alexander Volkov, and Cory Sandhagen respectfully. We give our takes on the main and co-main event and touch on several other intriguing fights that transpired at UFC Vegas 18. Next week, former teammates Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns will clash for the welterweight championship of the world. This card is absolutely stacked from top to bottom, and we let you know exactly what to look out for.  In welterweight, we have some of the biggest names in this sport including the BMF champion Jorge Masvidal, and Colby Covington, and it is the perfect time to have them fight.  We give our thoughts on the potential matchup and what it would mean for the division and the UFC brand. But perhaps the biggest name in the sport is still "The Notorious" Conor Mcgregor who had a message for the MMA community this week.
