The final match of the season very much summed it up as a whole as Watford whimpered to a 2-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge. The tone of this Twitter Space is very much "roll on next season" Thanks to all that contributed as always! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit
This is part two of a lost interview we did with Allan Smart almost a year ago. This episode looks back at his time at Watford - there's a certain goal at Wembley that features quite heavily! There is strong language used from the start in this recording. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit

It's never dull following the Hornets! Rob Edwards joins as Head Coach for next season and after Roy Hodgson Wave-gate on Saturday we host Everton in a nil-nil draw that he is high on work rate but short on quality! Most people seem pretty happy about both! Whilst boo's didn't happen at the Vic the empty seats were enough to register a sizeable protest vote against Roy, the regimes performance in recent seasons and the teams performance in this season - but the lads who played put in a shift and the reaction to that simple fact is also telling. Rupert is in a good mood and that may have a lot to do with his mother-in-law finally leaving, Loads of contributions from fans live and unedited - thanks to all as always COYH! Back again to air his views is our ever-popular guest Andy Collins. Without holding back he lets off a bit of steam regarding events on and off the pitch this season. It is a bit sweary so you have been warned! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit
So where to start!?! Well, we were relegated and Roy Hodgson didn't wave to the Watford fans even though he's employed by the club and had just presided over the final nail of relegation being firmly nailed into this seasons coffin. This was because the Watford fans were too far away (those pesky Watford away fans!) where as the Palace fans he was happy to smile and wave to! Then Carl was bitten by a Horse called Hercules who was the size of Cyprus but had bad teeth - I appreciate the story has somewhat jumped but in fairness if you listen to the podcast you'll still be confused - as we are still, its just the sort of thing that happens to Carl! Peter and Justin decided that each caller should decide whether or not a particular player should be fired or kept on for next season until Ellie decided that this was an inefficient model and started firing just about everyone!! More regular callers more debut callers - thanks so much for joining, contributing and listening! Finally Pete managed to get away without doing an impression of ROy Hodgson on the basis that everyone was just too far away - Its what Roy would have wanted! COYH! Well there lots in this one!!! Firstly Watford intent on providing consistency concede two late goals to grab defeat from the jaws of victory! ALl the reaction to that and.... ......we have more famous people than you can shake a stick at plus our regular contributors and some new voices too!! Watford supporting Radio One DJ Chris Stark contributes and interacts whilst on route to Blackpool for a show alongside fellow Radio One and TV host Scott Mills. Scott might be understandably concerned about everyone being irate with someone called Scott but fortunately for him the man in question here is Scott Duxberry following the chairmans programme notes, the supporters committee, and a season where the hits just keep on coming!! Justin, Carl and Peter look at the PR disasters that have come via the comms team at the club this season then go through the listeners five point wishlists for next season Learn more about your ad choices. Visit
After the Supports Committee debacle it has taken us a while to get to look at the Annual Financial Report that was released last month - here Peter takes Carl and Justin through his take on the numbers, the actions the club has taken since and his view on Premier League clubs financial backing and what it all means for us Hornets! After the disappointment of the stoppage time defeat at home to Brentford the Hornets travelled to the Etihad to face Guardiola's expensively assembled team that were looking for a 15th consecutive win over Watford. The 5-1 defeat put the supporters in both a reflective as well as forward looking mood. Most would agree the end of the season can't come soon enough and the hope that a fresh start in a more forgiving environment than the Premier League will make next season better, but others were wary that this might too relaxed a view bearing in mind the issues that have worsened pretty much since the cup final Spaces regular Terry explains how he met almost everyone at the Brentford game and the last minutes were occupied by a superb debut call from Rich with a balanced view of concern for the future but also what could be a way forward. We get ratings on players from progressively less informed callers and we answer the question that literally no one was asking - what ever happened to Clint Easton! As ever we welcome all opinions otherwise this would not be the barometer of fan opinion that we would like it to be. Thanks for listening. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit
VAR has been called into play and a re-match has been ordered to correct a great injustice. Greg Theaker returns with a need for revenge and a peculiarly large amount of insight into buying cricket bats in the High Wycombe area. Carl mainly wonders how he got into all of this and why we keep asking him questions about Tommy Mooney! This and not a lot more in the World v Carl Season One FInale! So a difficult end to a difficult week. The aftermath of the Supporters Committee mishandling is still raw but perhaps a result in the latest must win game with the added incentive of not suffering a record breaking 10th straight home defeat would pick up the support. Well we'll never know because having missed two clear opportunities in the 93rd minute, Watford conceded in the 95th minute. The season in microcosm or a symptom of a deeper malaise - here supporters call in to the DNSYE Twitter Spaces where all opinions are heard and discussed. If Duxbury is as he claims in charge of the club affairs then should he now be in the firing line? Do the problems go deeper to the depths of the DNA of the club. Thank you so much to all our regular and first time contributors and also the listeners whether live or on the podcast - it's your voices we want to hear. COYH! Learn more about your ad choices. Peter interviews Carl and Justin over the recent initial Supporters Committee meeting to try to go over how it came about, and to try to answer as many questions as we can following the release of the rather brief notes from the club. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit
John Parslow is the opposition for Carl, in our trivia penalty shoot out Watford nonsense and both are playing down their chances but it is another participant that gives a performance that only Trevor Benjamin could be happy with! Who you ask? Listen and find out in this episode that tries to corrects its blasphemous track record and fails on all levels and Carl tries to convince everyone that 50% of 12 is 4!!! King of Scotland Robert the Bruce, it is said, once sought inspiration from a spiders continued attempts to build it's web – Carl’s own spidery tale is less poetic and see’s him mainly gurgling unnecessarily! In a titanic battle between Carl and Marc Mesgian – it comes down to the wire but - “Who will triumph?” and “What happened to the spider?” are questions you’re probably not asking! So the trapdoor to the Championship is opening before us after a 3-0 home defeat at the hands of Leeds United and as if that wasn't enough to talk about the club release details of a newly formed committee made up of fan groups, bloggers and podcasters including our own Carl! Carl joined by Sam Ucko (from WD18) and Tom Wicks (Golden Pages) try their best to respond to questions put to them by understandably confused fans, who, being fans, think that a fans forum should be! Thank you to all who contributed and to everyone who listens either live or on podcast. There is strong language throughout and opinions are strong and expressed strongly. Carl is trailing and needs to pull a rabbit out of a hat. This may be problematic as Carl appears to have neither a hat or a rabbit! Awful episode. Nothing but endless talking over each other. Real shame.

Nice interview. Just disappointed Chris made no reference to the first name of one of his interviewers. This was the elephant in the room throughout...

A lot of Watford FC podcasts have appeared in recent years and to cut through you need to do something different, this one does by speaking to a lot of former players from across the years, what is especially nice is that these aren't always the players you hear from that often. This pod is nicely produced, really good quality and so nice to remenise about good and bad seasons from years gone by.
