Volunteers play a critical role in the success of youth ministries, but if we fail to keep them engaged, motivated and most of all, cared for, we can quickly lose them! First and foremost, when volunteers are lead well, they can be much happier 😁 and more effective in their roles. When volunteers feel valued, appreciated, and supported, they are more likely to be fully engaged and committed to the mission of the student ministry. This translates into better interactions for the students they are working with, as well as a more positive ➕ and energized atmosphere for everyone involved. In addition, when you effectively pour into and care for your leaders, it will in turn lead to longer-term retention. Volunteers who feel connected to the ministry and enjoy their roles are more likely to continue volunteering over time. So how can youth pastors lead their volunteers well? In this episode, we'll explore some practical strategies on how to recognize and celebrate volunteers' contributions and create a positive and supportive team culture.  We will also help you envision how your ministry can implement these strategies to maximize the impact of your volunteers and the students in your ministry.  As you create a healthy team of volunteers, you will quickly see a decrease in leader turnover! This episode was recommended by a supporter of this show!  Thank you Dale Garza! Leadership skills are extremely important when it comes to youth ministry.  Churches need trained youth pastors to keep their youth groups engaged, growing in their faith, and reaching new students. Youth Pastors need to be able to motivate their leaders and volunteers, communicate effectively, and shepherd their students. In order to be a successful youth minister, it is important to develop these leadership traits early on in your ministry career, but it's also never too late to sharpen your skills.  In this episode, we discuss multiple ways to level up your leadership skills in youth ministry so that you can succeed at maintaining health in your ministry and in your own life.  **There were originally 5 points for this episode; however, we accidentally skipped the 3rd point.  This will be added as a bonus video for our Patreon subscribers.  If you are interested in supporting our ministry, please consider going to our Patreon page at:  www.patreon.com/ministrycoachWe love hearing from you all and we do our best to provide powerful and insightful youth ministry content on a weekly basis to be that coach and mentor you may not have, but desperately need.If you have an episode idea, please E-Mail us at MinistryCoachPodcast@gmail.com! This episode covers 6 free time youth ministry games for your youth group to play pre-service. When students arrive at your midweek youth group or Sunday morning church service, it's always nice to have some games and activities that they can play to help bond, build community and get to know each other in an easy way.   Instead of having them just sit in a chair staring at the stage, or standing off to the side like a wall flower, waiting for the service to start, they can engage with each other by connecting via free time games.  These pre-service games are the type that students can play without having to have the game be officially organized and monitored by a leader...they can simply walk up and start playing with other students. We love hearing from you all and we do our best to provide powerful and insightful youth ministry content on a weekly basis to be that coach and mentor you may not have, but desperately need.If you have an episode idea, please E-Mail us at MinistryCoachPodcast@gmail.com!If you have it on your heart to support this ministry, please consider going to our Patreon page at: www.patreon.com/ministrycoachSupply and Shopping List for the games mentioned in this episode:9 Square Castle Squares: https://castlesports.com/products/9-square-castlesquares(USE DISCOUNT CODE: MINISTRYCOACH for $50 OFF)Four Square Ball: https://amzn.to/3TxFFBlPainter's Tape for 4 Square: https://amzn.to/2VFd1Tc Nintendo Switch: https://amzn.to/3TxFFBlExtra Controllers: https://amzn.to/3VFg7nJMario Party for Nintendo Switch: https://amzn.to/3eKvwT6Table Games (Your first choice is to see if anyone is getting rid of one they can donate to your youth ministry...it will save you money and students are rough on these so unless you are willing to spend a decent amount of money, the durability may be a problem)Foosball (this particular one is reasonably priced, has good reviews on Amazon and claims to be "durable"...I'm not sure if that equals 'student ministry durable' or not though): https://amzn.to/3TBjmuEPing Pong: https://amzn.to/3gly4YrHyper Pong: https://amzn.to/3Tt3TwMAnomia: https://amzn.to/3TuV1GAHedbanz: https://amzn.to/3TiuTiwThrow Throw Burrito: https://amzn.to/3s9YvCYThrow Throw Burrito Extreme: https://amzn.to/3s6I1vgColoring Books: https://amzn.to/3CPfxeo==================🔄 CONNECT WITH US ON SOCIAL MEDIA 📱:Kristen Lascola:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/klascola/Twitter: https://twitter.com/kristenlascola?lang=enJeffrey Lascola:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/grandmasterbengal/==================*This episode is not sponsored.
