People often look forward to what is going to happen in the future. We set goals and do the things that will get us to achieve those dreams. On the other hand, we sometimes get stuck in the past. We do everything just not to be in that bad situation again. We are just so good at thinking about the past and the future.What we often forget is the most important thing to focus on. A gift that is given to us every single waking day-- The present. We make so many judgments because of our past and we set so many expectations for our future that we forget to live in the present. We forget to be mindful. There were days in our lives when we felt insecure and we self-judge. When we want to be more productive, some of us tend to push ourselves to work harder than we usually do and perform non-stop. That way, we think that we can accomplish things faster. Thus, we make working non-stop our routine. What people with this kind of attitude don’t usually notice is that when we don’t take breaks, we experience burnout. Burnout is never helpful and it does more damage to our bodies and our productivity. In this episode, I discuss the effects of burnout on our performance and even our health. There's nothing wrong with being motivated by the things that we desire in life. It is exciting to reach our goals, live the life we've always dreamed of, and also live with contentment and happiness. However, our desires can also be connected to our suffering because of the frustrations and unhappiness that come with it. We need to find the balance between wanting something and being satisfied with what we have. Creating habits helps us reach our goals and make improvements in our daily lives. However, some people find it hard to create a new habit and it is even harder to stick to it. They become discouraged before even starting and eventually, they give up. The first thing we do after being born and the last thing we do before we die is to breathe.  Our breath is as sacred as our lives. We are often told to just trust our guts whether it is for a career path, relationships, or even the little decisions we have to make in our everyday lives. People also often tell themselves, "My gut is telling me that something is wrong.", and it is always right.  It’s because our intuition is hardly ever wrong.Why is it so important to trust and follow our intuition? Intuition is a key to success. The more you have faith in it and the more you follow it, the more it results in great things. When we trust our intuition, we don’t have to think over and over again about something that we have to do. This makes problem-solving and decision-making even faster. We really cannot give what we do not have. Our cups should not just be half empty or running out. Instead, it should be overflowing.
