You drag yourself from the black tides, across the corpses of drowned  men, and onto the unwelcoming, craggy shoreline. Gulls cry overhead and  the stink of seaweed fills your nose. By some miracle you have made it  to Idra. It will take all your skill to survive and unravel the eldritch  mysteries of the Black Priory. Pray your sanity holds. ‘Skald: Against the Black Priory’ is an old-school role-playing game that  combines modern design and a fully realized narrative with authentic  8-bit looks and charms. Delve into a dark fantasy world, full of  tragic heroes, violent deaths and Lovecraftian, cosmic horror. Explore  an engaging, branching story mixed with rich exploration and crunchy,  tactical, turn-based combat that will seem familiar yet innovative to  RPG fans, old and new. Do you have what it takes to lead a  company of broken heroes from the tainted shores of Idra to the gates of  the Black Priory - and beyond? Welcome to the special Halloween episode of Versian Chronicles! This episode is based on the Demo version of SKALD, which I highly recommend you give a look to! Its a whole lot of fun!

This is a wild game. From a group of colonists heading to mars, to a twisted story happening in the background, to dredging up the darkest of humanity... what is this game?
I love Roguelikes. I am not sure I love this one. Give it a go when if you need a roguelike to try.
This week, we take a step into a more relaxing game... Enjoy the Caves of Qud experience and check out the rest of the AOLP community while you are at it. Start with Lokathor at Lokathor's Audio Only Let's Play, or check out any of the amazing folks at the link here ==
Death taketh.. and taketh.. and freaking taketh again. We get smacked by a paladin. We get smacked by a man-bear and his bear friends. We get smacked by an Ogre.. again. We get smacked by a swarmy lady who is really bad at picking friends..   WE GET UNALIVED QUITE A BIT IN THIS EPISODE!   I wholeheartedly blame Lokathor from Lokathor's Audio Only Let's Play Podcast.. Its his fault this time. Check out his stuff at
We are all over the place in this episode, and we even take the time to spill some water on myself. I loved making this episode, even if I'm physically in a lot of pain (which is why the episode is so much shorter than normal). Much love and I hope you enjoy it!   Shoutouts to my wife (Eve Damewood), Skelly House, Lokathor (who I may have forgotten to shout out in the episode), Bill from JRPG Trappings, RPG After Years, Hyrule Podcasters, and the entire Audio Only Podcast community!
A dangerous world is what we have before us, and deaths are coming quickly. We move forwards through the world and find our way to meeting the Curator, the supposed Dark Lord of this realm. For some reason, they blame us for the destruction we are entering.. A furious battle definitely awaits... after we get more gear. This episode's shoutout goes to Ryan over at Out of Quarters! Her podcast is a delightful and joyous journey through multiple games, one quarter at a time. Go check her out at and let her know I sent ya! Edit: At the time of recording, Ryan was still going publically as He/Him. I have her pronoun change reflected in the text above and have spoken with her about the episode before its release here. Go give her some love and support her podcast!
I didn't get lost. He fell on my sword. I didn't get lost.   In this fantastic episode of Morrowind, we take a journey to the north and find a fascinating town with a ton of opportunity and make ourselves quite a bit of money in the process. A Nord might also die during this excursion... maybe... I swear he just fell on the blade! Special Shoutout to Skeleton House Podcast! Check them out at
I learned a lot about the world of Baldur's Gate, especially in how hard the world is on your new character. We fight a whole lot, find a new party member thanks to a little birdie, and even learned how to kill an assassin with the power of friendship and guards.    This was a fantastic and fun episode.    Special thanks to Lokathor of Lokathor's Audio Only Let's Play Podcast who told me about the friendly Paladin friend! Check him out and his Final Fantasy 6 playthrough right now at and tell him I sent ya!
Something wicked this way comes, and we embrace it with a ferver! We journey to Gondolia, learn that we cannot speak in any Spanish or Italian accent, and do a side quest involving a lovely young maid who really doesn't want to tell her brother that she quit being a baker! Also enjoy the special promo from our friends at Skeleton House, whom you can find at the following link: You can find all the stuff about my Patreon at
Do we always forget what we were doing when we start these? We get lost in the catacombs, deal with some Flesh Clan monsters, and learn that even enchanted weapons can't beat our simple Morning-star + Buff Spells mixture!    Special Shoutout to the Hyrule Podcasters, who feature in this episode's promo! Ben and Patrick are lovely folks and definitely deserve whatever awesome their way may come. I'm sure with some prodding we can get a shorter promo from them as well ;)
Due to an intensely game-breaking bug I came across in my own Pokecube Modpack, I decided to keep the Minecraft train rolling with an interesting Complete The Monument map for 1.16 played in 1.17. I'm excited to see where this one goes. Enjoy it alongside me and let me know what you think about this new experience!
You ever step into a world where you have nearly no idea what is going on? This was my experience with this episode. There is also a beautiful story about how I came to find the Baldur's Gate Reloaded mod for NWN2, as well as some other stuff I honestly don't remember even now.. OH! We also find some really interesting boots.
Sometimes, you come across something you just really want to actually work on, and somehow the epic and legendary game Baldur's Gate is one I have slept on for years...  Well, now we will take the time to hit this legendary game from a bit of a different perspective...  This is Baldur's Gate Reloaded, a mod for Neverwinter Nights 2 from the Baldur's Gate Reloaded Team! You can find the mod at Love you all! Enjoy this pilot episode, character creation, and exploration of Candlekeep.. We also find a neat bug that we totally don't exploit at all...
This was a whirlwind of an episode that I just loved making. Sylvando is a dream to behold.. and I love it.  Enjoy my Sylvando voice.. ENJOY IT!
Sometimes, the best stories are told while shopping..   Other times we just learn there is no strength ring. This is one of those later times. Enjoy the episode friends!
Much like the previous episode, this season is about showing off my own 1.12.2 modpack in preparation for its inevitable recreation in 1.16 and beyond. During this episode, we take a look at more features of the mod, slightly expand our small start, and begin learning about things that will probably be out of our reach for quite a while... I also realized I left some recipes in that will need to be removed. Woops.
Now this is a strange episode.. one where I was honestly kinda sick when I recorded it and thus things came out weird.    On the brighter side of things, we did find the folks in the egg mine :P
A healthy welcome back to what has become an old friend of mine.. Dragon Quest XI. We spend most of this episode grinding, and somehow we complete a quest while also trying to complete another quest... and then finally realize we have Pep Juice.. I'm not the brightest am I?
