See You At the Pole, the global day of student prayer, is an annual gathering that began in 1990 as a grass roots movement with ten Texas students praying at their school. Decades later, millions pray on their campuses on the fourth Wednesday in September. If you have seen students coming together praying at a school flag pole this is See You at the Pole in action! It is simply a prayer rally where students meet before school to lift up their friends, families, teachers, school, and nation to God. See You at the Pole™ is a student-initiated, student-organized, and student-led event.Today on the Still With You we have the honoring of hearing from one of my favorite leaders, See You At the Pole National Field Director Doug Clark. As National Field Director, Doug serves as promotion coordinator for See You at the Pole, is involved in networking in San Diego locally, and helps lead a dynamic team of field leaders who currently serve hundreds of local networks in 10 regions across the US. With is life-dedication to youth ministry is he more than qualified to present the history of this incredible prayer movement and share the hype for how each of us can participate in praying over this year’s SYATP event occurring on September 28th.I hope you enjoy every moment of this conversation and are encouraged to pray with conviction now more than ever for the upcoming generation!! When Emmy award-winning journalist, KOAA News5 co-anchor, Dianne Derby, arrived as a news anchor in Colorado Springs, she was hungry for approval, affirmation, and connections. She raced from one event to the next, capturing stories, sound bites, but past the microphone she deeply struggled in feeling fulfilled. Everything changed when she met centenarian Jim Downing at a luncheon for World War II veterans. At the time, U.S. Navy Veteran, Lieutenant Jim Downing, was the second-oldest living survivor of Pearl Harbor. At the luncheon Jim asked Dianne an important question that would set the tone for the start of their friendship. Jim shared, “Would you like to meet the most fulfilled person you’ll ever know? You’re looking at him.” For the next five years Dianne and Jim began meeting every Tuesday, where eventually she invited her followers into their dialogues with dozens of videos on Facebook Live, where viewers could learn from Jim just as she had. With thousands of views, the chats struck a chord with people who were hungry for a meaningful life. Over the course of five years, Jim taught Dianne Derby to slow down; to embrace only what is true, real, and good; and to live a life of significance. Dianne was asked to deliver the eulogy at Jim’s funeral when he passed away in February 2018 at age 104. His memorial service was broadcasted across the the world for thousands to honor his legacy. Jim’s faith and life lessons live on in Dianne’s stories, her friendships, and the significance of her work as a journalist, a mother, a wife, and a follower of Christ. Her first book, “Two Hundred Tuesdays: What a Pearl Harbor Survivor Taught Me About Life, Love, and Faith” is the story of how Tuesday meetings about friendship, leadership, mentoring, parenting, and marriage—and the sacred thread through it all—led to an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. Two Hundred Tuesdays releases next week Tuesday May 17th, but you can preorder your copy today!Official show notes available atwww.kohliebrowning.comMusic, "Where the Light Dances" by Yamareehttps://open.spotify.com/artist/7pxDHAwWckKzgQI8xj7yY0?si=41m36DjKRTmmwSGPnlVMRg

Located on beautiful Pensacola Beach, Bear Fruit Bowls and Coffee was started with an idea and dream to inspire people to bear fruit in their lives. What does it mean to bear fruit? Founders and owners, Ryan and Alexis Ford believe this depends specifically on each person's own life but ultimately it comes down to three essential pillars: peace, love, and joy. Their hope is when you walk into the shop space you can feel all three pillars and take this with you wherever you go, along with an organic build-your-own açaí bowl and coffee.Ryan and his family are a rarity as they have invited not only an inner circle of friends but an entire community into their story. In my conversation with Ryan we talk about moving from the midwest to the emerald coast as well as making doughnuts to now serving fresh açaí that myself and so many friends are already going coconutty over! Extra Ice: Holy Week

Extra Ice: Holy Week

2022-04-1208:57

Welcome to this season’s first Extra Ice 🧊... Every seventh episode of ‘Still With You’ we, as a community of friends, share an intentional time of rest and refreshment by being in the word of God together. This week is truly special as we observe Holy Week. The church calendar marks Holy Week as the seven days leading up to Easter Sunday. Every day we are invited by God to remember Christ’s triumphal entry, betrayal, trial, crucifixion, burial and celebrate his resurrection, not just during Holy Week.  However, this intentional  time marked annually by believers is an opportunity for unity as we seek God and share gratitude for the the gift of the the cross. I pray the words of scripture pierce our hearts and overwhelm us in how indescribable the LOVE of God is. He is always pouring out for us, always offering us rest in Him.Official show notes available at www.kohliebrowning.comIsaiah 11:1-5Isaiah 42:1-4John 13:12-16Matthew 26:14-16Isaiah 53:1-5Romans 6:3-11John 20:1-9Music:“Memory Card Full” by Birocratic“Peaceful Mindstorm” by Astron“Slow Hammer” by The Mini Vandals“Figments of Color” by Loopop
For the second week in a row we are hanging out with a friend from Charlotte, North Carolina. After graduating from Brigham Young University, Dr. Derwin L. Gray played professional football in the NFL for five years with the Indianapolis Colts (1993-1997) and one year with the Carolina Panthers (1998). Dr. Gray began his journey with God, experiencing His faithfulness as as Christ moved in his heart to make Him known.Derwin earned a master of divinity degree with a concentration in apologetics from Southern Evangelical Seminary under the mentorship of the renowned theologian Dr. Norman Geisler. He also earned a doctor of ministry degree in the New Testament in context at Northern Seminary. Dr. Derwin L. Gray is the cofounder and lead pastor of Transformation Church (TC), a multiethnic, multigenerational, mission-shaped church located in the Charlotte, metro region. He is a popular conference speaker and the author of Hero: Unleashing God’s Power in a Man’s Heart; Building a Multiethnic Church; The Good Life; God, Do You Hear Me?, Limitless Life, and his new book out TODAY, How to Heal Our Racial Divide: What the Bible Says, and the First Christians Knew, about Racial Reconciliation.Like many of us, Dr. Gray is weary of the racial divide in our society. He longs to see hurts healed, wrongs corrected, and trust replace distrust. The good news is that the Bible has a lot to say about how to heal our persistent racial divides. In How to Heal Our Racial Divide, Dr. Gray walks us through Scripture, showing us the heart of God—how God from the beginning envisioned a reconciled multiethnic family in loving community, reflecting his beauty and healing presence in the world. This message is central to the gospel itself.Cover to cover, I could not put this book down. After picking up How to Heal Our Racial Divide, you won’t read the Bible the same way ever again. You will hear me admit this more than a few times in this conversation with Dr. Gray! There is so much to learn from this eye-opening scriptural journey when we as God's people turn from being color blind and embrace being color blessed.Official show notes available atwww.kohliebrowning.comMusic, "Where the Light Dances" by Yamareewww.instagram.com/yamareeofficial/"Wrong" by Dan Henig"Jindupe" by Lauren Dunski
Up and coming artist running alongside Creative Culture Co. and Integrity Music, singer-songwriter, Yamaree brings a unique sound to the Christian/Gospel genre. A local talent to Tri-Cities, Washington, Yamaree, started writing and recording her own lyrics early in life. Though she loved spending time in the studio and worship sets, she learned that pursuing her dreams in music also came with sacrificial cost. As a young adult Yamaree moved to Redding, California with her lungs full of sound, ready to worship. Instead God lead her into a season of unexpected surrender and silence. This story is full of plot-twists I cannot wait for you to take in. Yamaree’s is voice is beautifully authentic. Her lyrics are hopeful, but honest, and her heart is open to writing songs that God can use and breathe on. To speak to the young and old, the “Christians” and the “secular.” To draw people to the table with her songs. A table that leads to healing, purpose and Jesus. After listening to our conversation my prayer is that you will look at light a little differently. That you would be deeply moved as light reflects off ripples of water or pours through an open windows. God’s presence has a beautiful manner of meeting with us and often it’s where the light dances.  Official show notes available atwww.kohliebrowning.comMusic, "Where the Light Dances" by Yamareewww.instagram.com/yamareeofficial/"Wrong" by Dan Henig"Jindupe" by Lauren Dunski
Many of you have heard of the television series The Walking Dead, The Gifted, The Purge, Tell Me Your Secrets, Long Slow Exhale, Drop Dead Diva, and one of my personal favorites, Outer Banks! Today I am speaking with a friend who has had the opportunity to play a role on all of these incredible shows and more. Professional actor and Pensacola native, Chelle Ramos, cultivated a passion for the performing arts early in her life. Learning new routines and leveling up her dance skills required hard work, but she kept it light, fun, and genuinely loved growing as an artist. Years later, as a young adult on a family vacation at Universal Studios, Chelle experienced the opportunity of a lifetime leading to a successful career in the film industry as a professional actor. On or off set Chelle loves embracing every moment life, especially with friends and time spent nature. She commonly refers to the world as a playground and is intentional about honoring rhythms of health and celebrating the spirit of her inner child. I am so excited for you to join our conversation as we talk about everything from audition tapes, Outer Banks insights of course, and establishing personal boundaries with social media and the public. No post production needed, Chelle is authentic to her core and I cannot wait for you to hear her story!Official show notes available atwww.kohliebrowning.comMusic, "Where the Light Dances" by Yamareewww.instagram.com/yamareeofficial/"Wrong" by Dan Henig"Jindupe" by Lauren Dunski
On July 20, 2019 in southern Kazakhstan, Stacey Morgan stood alongside her four children in an open field as they watched a Soyuz rocket ignite into the early morning sky. Aboard the spacecraft was her husband U.S. Army colonel and NASA astronaut Drew Morgan. With an overwhelming mix of pride, excitement, and terror, Stacey had no idea of what to expect next once the the 30-second countdown to lift off began. There was no roadmap for the next nine months she would spend with her children on earth while Drew completed his mission aboard the International Space Station.Containing behind-the-scenes glimpses into a side of space flight that most of us will never experience, The Astronaut’s Wife is a funny, poignant, and meaningful exploration of living life to the fullest―no matter where you roam.In my conversation with Stacey we had a blast talking about the annual and iconic Army-Navy football game, NASA spouse history, sharing fun in the middle of survival mode, living boldly not only in faith but also in action. Stacey is a challenger you are sure to gravitate towards!Official show notes available atwww.kohliebrowning.comMusic, "Where the Light Dances" by Yamareewww.instagram.com/yamareeofficial/"Wrong" by Dan Henig"Jindupe" by Lauren Dunski

Emmy Award-Winning Journalist, Kennedy Dendy, was born and raised in Dallas, Texas with big dreams for her bright future. At an early age she was naturally drawn to the field of news media, often mimicking the show hosts she watched on television. Still driven by her passion for sharing stories, Kennedy graduated from Baylor University with a journalism major/film and digital media minor in December of 2019. After graduating she left her hometown and comfort zone to move to the East Coast to work as a weekend Morning Anchor/Producer and a news reporter for KEZI 9 News in Eugene, Oregon.Kennedy has always held close Proverbs 3:5-6, a verse from the Bible about trusting and submitting your plans to the Lord, but she never would have guessed that in this new season her faith would be refined by fire, quite literally. In this conversation with Kennedy she shares about her experience with KEZI 9 News in Eugene in the middle of the 2021 Oregon fires, winning a beautiful, but quite heavy, Emmy Award, and what is happening in the new season of her life in her new anchor position with Action News Jax (CBS47 & FOX30) in Jacksonville, Florida.Kennedy’s trust in having God handle all of her decision making is a major encouragement to me and I pray it is for you too!Official show notes available atwww.kohliebrowning.comMusic, "Where the Light Dances" by Yamareewww.instagram.com/yamareeofficial/"Wrong" by Dan Henig"Jindupe" by Lauren Dunski
Author, podcast co-host, and Bible teacher, Katie Hawkins, spent little time contemplating her beliefs about God and faith as young adult. It is not until she accepts a teaching job at Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba where her life begins to change. In Katie's new position at a private school she often teaches hungover, smokes in the teachers’ lounge, and makes up her own answers to her students’ questions about Jesus. She would never have imagined that she would soon become a Spirit-filled follower of Jesus with a passion for glorifying God...Official show notes available atwww.kohliebrowning.comMusic, "Where the Light Dances" by Yamareewww.instagram.com/yamareeofficial/"Wrong" by Dan Henig"Jindupe" by Lauren Dunski

Season Four Finale

Season Four Finale

2021-11-3022:59

Every year I anticipate recording the season finale of 'Still With You'. Sharing fun, reflective moments surrounding the year's events with a close friend always brings me joy. However, this season is different. With every invite sent I faced obstacles of schedule unavailability and tricky timing. Responses from friends were never unkind, it was simply not what I had expected nor what I wanted. I have held this feeling of want frequently this year and sadly, it has often opaqued my beliefs in who God is. More than I care to admit I have engaged with God as though He was a magical wish granter rather than my loving Holy Heavenly Father who knitted me together. I am learning that He cares about what I want, but is more concerned and underserving kind in giving me what I need.On this 'Still With You' Season 4 Finale I am flying solo, showing up, in trust, to talk about this season's highlights, book of Joshua (yes, again), and what to excitedly expect for next year. ‘Still With You’ Season 5 will release Tuesday January 18th, 2022.Many thanks…To every amazing guest who showed up eager to share, our faithful partners in prayer, encouraging friends, and fun sponsors this season, you are a solid team. This creative outlet would not operate if it were not for your kindness and generosity. Every bit of your support, even a single episode download, matters. If only I could sip a cold brew coffee or two with each of you and share my sincere gratitude. Season 4 has been more than my heart ever imagined and I treasure every minute spent with you, my friends. Support SWY...One of the easiest and best ways you can support this podcast is by leaving a positive review on the Apple Podcasts App and following the show on Spotify. This helps more than you know in giving others the equal opportunity to listen and be encouraged.Official show notes available at www.kohliebrowning.comMusic, "We'll Be Alright" by Gabrielle Gracewww.gabriellegracemusic.net
Extra Ice: Psalm 105

Extra Ice: Psalm 105

2021-11-2306:54

Every seventh episode of 'Still With You' we, as a community of friends, share an intentional time of rest and refreshment by being in the word of God together. This week on the podcast we are easing into Psalm 105, a chapter written by David, carrying sincere gratitude for all God has done. It opens sharing, “Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim His greatness. Let the whole world know what He has done”. David reminds the reader of the historic, miraculous, and true stories of Abraham, Joseph, and Moses. These three men of the Old Testament were amazing leaders, but also broken, everyday people, just like us, that God still wanted to use. Psalm 105 is overflowing with encouragement to not only exult God’s holy name and remember the wonders he has performed, but also to follow his decrees and obey his instruction. Drop a few extra ice cubes in your drink! Or add a second splash of cream, if you favor a hot beverage this time of year? May Psalm 105 be the song of our heart we share the Word and sincere thankfulness together this week.  Official show notes available at www.kohliebrowning.comMusic, "Memory Card Full" by Birocratic"Pure Potentiality" by Benjamin Martins"Slowly Until We Get There" by Joey Pecoraro
Two years ago Chi-Town native turned Dallas, Texas local, Kimberly Dendy, had a vivid dream of two little kids full of joy sharing the story of the birth of Christ. As a mother of two, reading books with her children when they were little was one of Kimberly's greatest joys, but she never once considered becoming an author herself. Weeks following the significant Christmas dream Kimberly found herself writing and the words spilling from her heart were forming a beautiful story of adventure, love, and faith. On this episode of Still With You I am honored and excited to be celebrating the release of Kimberly’s first book, Luke and Lily’s Christmas Wish.Fictional characters, Luke and Lily are five year old twins who love everything about Christmas and are always excited to share the story of the birth of Christ with other children. Over the years they have heard stories about the legend of the Guardian of the Angel Tree and had hoped that this would be the Christmas that their prayers would be answered and they would finally have an adventure all their own.In this conversation Kimberly shares a behind-the-dream look into the moments that shaped Luke and Lily’s Christmas Wish. I loved speaking with her about the writing process as a children’s author, intentionally honoring diversity through literature, and the blessings that arrive with obedience in following God's plans.Luke and Lily’s Christmas Wish is a book you want to place on your Christmas list. I hope you get it, gift it, and most importantly, allow the story’s message move your heart. Official show notes available at www.kohliebrowning.comMusic, "We'll Be Alright" by Gabrielle Gracewww.gabriellegracemusic.net
This week we are observing a holiday that needs no introduction. Veteran’s Day is an annual moment for us, as civilians, to honor and celebrate the selfless men and women of our U.S. Military who have served our great nation. 🇺🇸Clearly, this federal holiday is close to my heart. As many of you know my husband, Chris, served in the Navy for 7 1/2 years and is now a Staff Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force Reserves. My brother, Sergeant Bennett Stock, also shares the veteran title. Ben served as an infantryman in the U.S. Army with Fort Bragg’s 82nd Airborne Division in North Carolina. In June 2019 he and hundreds of other brave men and women departed from the United States for a nine month deployment in Afghanistan. While my family’s hearts trembled with fear everyday Ben was away we chose to place our trust in God. We prayed for Him to cover Ben’s life with His protection. In the middle of a global pandemic, March 2020, God answered our prayers and safely brought our soldier home.On this episode of Still With You I am joined by the returning guest, the red, white, and bro himself, my brother, Ben, to talk about his service experience in Afghanistan. While a large chunk of this chat is heavy hitting there are a few hilarious splashes of stories of barrack tattoos, his dog, Bear, and a new house building he has in process. What I love most about our conversation is learning how to pray strategically for our service members as well as the nation of Afghanistan. As followers of Christ, who believe in the power of prayer, friends, I ask you lean in.I am so thankful for every armed forces member who has given their life to serve our great nation. There is not a day that passes in which I do not thank God for my brother and our military. I am grateful for his service, inspired by his grit, and overjoyed for his second appearance on the show. Happy Veteran's Day!⚠️ CAUTION: This episode contains conversation topics that might be sensitive to young listeners and triggering to individuals with current or prior military experience. Listener discretion is advised. Earlier in this season of Still With You I had the opportunity to speak with faith-based fitness coach, podcast host, speaker, and #1 best-selling author, Jessica Hottle. This conversation is shared on Episode 88: Dismantling Lies Keeping You From Healing with Jessica Hottle. Since recording together Jessica has published new book, "Face Off With Your Feelings: Break Up with the Lies of the Past and Embrace the Truth for your Future". Over the summer Jessica so generously shared any early copy for me to read and friends, this book is life changing!Jessica has the gift of sharing how Biblical truth and health science intersect. Romans 12:2 talks about being transformed by the renewing of your mind. But what does that actually look like? How can my brain practice this on a Tuesday? Does what I feel matter to God? Should my emotions be set aside?"Face Off With Your Feelings" is less like a text and more like a personal invitation to ask these tough questions. Jessica teaches, we no longer have to run and hide from our feelings. Our feelings can lead us into a deeper relationship with God. She believes and has the truth to back it up that God wants you well in all areas of your life. How free would you feel if your feelings didn’t get the final say in your life, but God’s Word did?Open the notes app on your iPhone or have a pen and Post-It Notes pad near. Hand to heart you will want to remember every word you hear from Jess as she shares simple, tangible actions steps for us to take as we work through the process of healing.Official show notes available atwww.kohliebrowning.comMusic, "We'll Be Alright" by Gabrielle Gracewww.gabriellegracemusic.net
The kid himself, singer/songwriter, dancer, actor, comedian, Arthur Rocker, is not just an entertaining artist, but now and incredible up and coming podcast host. In March 2021 he and astounding co-host, Lyndsey Cross released “Uncultured Misfits” a podcast uniquely blending pop culture education and opinion journalism to all podcast listening platforms. Since “Uncultured Misfits” inception I have had the opportunity of working alongside Arthur and Lyndsey, as the show's podcast editor and producer. You know how much I love creative audio projects, the partnership was an easy yes!Today on the show I am honored to be hanging out with these influential friends. In my conversation with Arthur and Lyndsey they uncover the behind-the-scenes of how Uncultured Misfits came to be. We also spill a round of hot topics debating Taylor Swift albums, our fav shows in the teen drama genre, and discuss if rapper, Lil' Bow Wow really has discovered the fountain of youth? It is still my favorite goal to make all of my friends fans of the kid himself Arthur Rocker and now it is a joy adding the hilarious and intelligent Lyndsey Cross to this list. Podcast host, author, speaker, and friend who loves all things friendship, Jeanette Tapley, treasured life with her family in Land of the Midnight Sun. She and her husband, Jesse, both native Alaskans, married young, began growing a beautiful family together, and never dreamed of leaving their home state. Yet, when God wildly asked the Tapley's to uproot and move Jeanette was left with a tough decision to make. Rather than allowing her feet to be concrete she chose to trust in Jesus and follow where He was leading. Today Jeanette and her family live in Austin, Texas where her heart beats for people to be heard, valued, and never alone no matter what stage of life they find themselves in. She is the podcast host of It's Time for Coffee, a space for forming genuine friendship while sharing intentional conversation over cups of coffee, of course! Jeanette's first book, It's Time For Jesus: Believing The Truth Of Who You Are, Right Where You Are, released in July 2020 and encourages others to step into close friendship with God. What I admire most about Jeanette is her contagious joy in forming lasting friendships with every person God place's in her path. She is all about Bible-based love and teachings to help us grow into the friends we long to be and nourish the relationships we already have.Connect with Jeanette and listen to "It’s Time for Coffee" on all podcast platforms such as Podcast, Spotify, Anchor, iTunes, and more. Official show notes available atwww.kohliebrowning.comMusic, "We'll Be Alright" by Gabrielle Gracewww.gabriellegracemusic.net
