Tony Thompson founded the National Association of Minority Mortgage Bankers of America in 2016 with a vision to positively grow, develop and improve the industry by introducing women and minorities to the industry and investing in America’s youth to make them the leaders of tomorrow. Every year since its inception, Thompson has grown NAMMBA not only in presence and branding but in chapters and members across the U.S. and in recognition and corporate sponsorship by some of the industry’s largest organizations. He created a formal strategic partnership with the Mortgage Bankers Association to collaborate on certain conferences and meetings and to produce industry advocacy and research designed to further a diverse workforce, including recruitment and professional development scholarships. He also signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Association of Women in Real Estate Business to create a new collaborative initiative aimed at making the industry more diverse and inclusive. Under Thompson’s leadership, NAMMBA launched an initiative called “Mission 2025” in which the company will connect with 50,000 students to bring them into the mortgage profession. It will seek more Millennials, minorities, and women. Thompson is also working to develop relationships with more than 500 colleges nationwide. Thompson got his start at Bank of America as personnel/strategy development manager, and along his journey, had stopped at Wachovia Mortgage Corporation, PNC Mortgage, and Guaranteed Rate.

Craig Ferguson is Vice President of National Homebuyers Fund, Inc. and oversees business development and operations. Craig has worked with private and governmental organizations advising on and implementing the structuring of mechanisms to develop and manage programs that benefit local constituents and economies. Craig joined RCRC in 2007 after serving as National Director for the Strategic Markets Division of Citibank. Today Eric Frazier speaks with Charlie Oppler, 2021 President of the National Association of REALTORS and Bryan Greene, Vice President of Policy Advocacy at the National Association of REALTORS. Charlie Oppler, a REALTOR from Franklin Lakes, N.J., is the 2021 President of the National Association of REALTORS. He has been a REALTOR since 1981. Charlie is the CEO of Prominent Properties Sotheby’s International Realty, with 15 offices in northern and central New Jersey. He holds the At Home with Diversity certification from NAR. Charlie has served on NAR’s Board of Directors numerous times beginning in 2003. He has chaired the REALTOR Party Coordinating Committee and the RPAC Trustees Committee. Charlie has served on four of NAR's Presidential Advisory Groups. In 2005, he was NAR’s Vice President for Region 2 (New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania), and in 2015, he was NAR Vice President for Chris Polychron. At the local level, Charlie is a member of the Greater Bergen Board of REALTORS. Charlie is a lifelong resident of New Jersey and is actively involved in his community, supporting organizations including IronMatt, a foundation dedicated to raising awareness of pediatric brain tumors, and Englewood Hospital and Medical Center. Prior to joining NAR, Bryan served for ten years as the highest-ranking career official in HUD’s Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO), where he oversaw the policy direction and operational management of the 600-person office enforcing the nation’s housing anti-discrimination laws. Under Bryan’s leadership as FHEO General Deputy Assistant Secretary, HUD pursued large-scale, high-profile cases that addressed systemic discrimination and provided widespread relief.

CEO Joel Singer. “With her leadership, C.A.R. hopes to target the longstanding and unacceptable barriers to housing access and achieve measurable positive change for diverse communities throughout the state.” In her various roles as a volunteer leader, Wilder has chaired a variety of committees, contributed to the development of residential real estate policy, and lobbied federal, state, and local lawmakers. Wilder served on the Boards of the Oakland and Oakland Berkeley Association of REALTORS® from 2014 through 2017 and was 2018 Chair of C.A.R. 's Federal Committee. She is also active in her community, supporting local schools and causes. Wilder earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of Michigan and a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She moved to Oakland 18 years ago to pursue a legal career, serving five years as a civil rights attorney, before becoming a REALTOR®.
