"against all medical logic" the frozen men were alive... There's a saying in the medical field "they're not dead til they're warm and dead" thats very much medically logical.

Growing up in the 1970s with my Great Aunt and her Southern belle ways meant small feet, small waist. My feet were bound, my hoop skirts could be tightened , the crinoline stiff, and my left hand was bound behind my back ~ being left handed was "different" and different was not good. We even discussed removing my bottom ribs to get a more hour glass shape. It was difficult growing up with beauty held as a necessity.

The Mnt. Washington Hotel is beautiful. The mountain is small compared to the Rockies but it is vicious. There has been almost 150 deaths on the mountain in its history - 3 this year... and many more rescues. It's not to be underestimated.
