When it comes to Heavy Metal in India, there is one name that supersedes all others: Millennium. The Bangalore band assumed cult status in the '80s and '90s, creating the foundations on which promoters would be able to welcome the likes of Iron Maiden, Megadeth, and Metallica to the city. On this episode of Bangalore In Stories, Millennium's lead vocalist, Vehrnon Ibrahim, tells us about the origins of the band, highlights from his music career, and why Bangalore became such a Heavy Metal hotbed.  A PodMacha Studios production. On this episode of Bangalore In Stories, we ask a simple question: What was it like partying in Bangalore back in the day? The answer to that question varies depending on who you ask. 58, St. Mark's Road is a Bangalore landmark. The home was a haven for activism during the Emergency and fostered the city's artists over several decades. Much of the impetus for these developments came from Pattabhirama Reddy and Snehalatha Reddy, whose radical work in film and theatre led to 58, St. Mark's Road becoming an emblem for artistic freedom and democratic values. We also find out how Kirtana Kumar and Konarak Reddy keep that legacy alive today.  A PodMacha Studios production.
