The Stanley Cup Final is here! Let's find out if Carl is emotionally prepared for it. After making quick work of the Edmonton Oilers, the Colorado Avalanche had to wait to find out their opponent.  The Tampa Bay Lightning bounced back after two loses to eliminate the New York Rangers, after a late goal seemed to break their confidence. Was their any way that New York could over come the Tampa forecheck? Nick provides Carl with the help that he needs heading into a stressful Stanley Cup Final. How does one properly prepare for this? We also look at the goalie matchup of Darcy Kuemper vs Andrei Vasilevsky, the annoying schedule and whether Conference Final trophies should be touched. The Buffalo Sabres are retiring Ryan Miller's number. But is he eventually destined for the Hall of Fame? All this and more on episode 384 of the 4th Line Hockey Podcast! The NHL Conference Finals are well underway! With the New York Rangers moving past the Carolina Hurricanes, they're primed for a goalie matchup against the Tampa Bay Lightning. But is Andrei Vasilevsky vs. Igor Shesterkin living up to the billing? The Colorado Avalanche and Edmonton Oilers have had a slew of controversial plays, including Evander Kane's hit on Nazem Kadri and Cale Makar's offside call. Were the right calls made? Darcy Kuemper had to leave, replaced by Pavel Francouz. Will he be good enough? Martin St. Louis stays as the coach of the Montreal Canadiens, while Bruce Cassidy is fired by the Boston Bruins. Why did Boston feel the need to make the move? Patrice Bergeron was the winner of the Selke trophy, which begs the question: When should we re-name awards after a player? Darryl Sutter won the Jack Adams trophy, which begged another question: Should Coach of the Year award be handed out on a 3 year rotiation? With the Conference Finals starting, we look back at the 2nd round and preview the 3rd. Colorado Avalance vs. Edmonton Oilers Nathan MacKinnon scores the goal of the playoffs, and it still isn't enough to stop a St. Louis Blues comeback Blake Coleman is stopped from being Blake Goalman Jacob Markstrom lets down the Calgary Flames when they needed him the most Mac vs Mc as MacKinnon shows that he isn't worried about facing Connor McDavid Tampa Bay Lightning vs. New York Rangers (Probably....don't blow this or I look real dumb) Will Andrew Brunette be back coaching the Florida Panthers? Why can't the Carolina Hurricanes win on the road? Can anyone stop the juggernaught that the Tampa Bay Lightning have become? Make sure to join us for the 3rd round of the playoffs because we're playing Hi Sticking over on our Twitter. Join in by picking the winning team and the score for each and every game of the NHL playoffs! Marshawn Lynch is now a part owner of a the Seattle Kraken. Which begs the question: What zamboni donut-esque way would we spin our NHL ownership? It was a busy week for goalies around the NHL, with Frederick Andersen and Tristan Jarry going out with injuries. What will this mean for their teams playoff chances?  The Athletic released a tell-all about Eugene Melnyk's time as the owner of the Ottawa Senators. But was it too soon after his passing? Mike Bossy passed away this week. Where does the New York Islander great rank among the all time best? There are two more teams to add to the Elimination Station. Up first: The Winnipeg Jets. This week had another slew of hot button issues. But also, had enough time for background talk, cheese talk and Auston Matthews talk. Jay Beagle tried to fight the entire Anaheim Ducks, particularly Troy Terry and Trevor Zegras. This opened a can of worms, looking at how games should be handled with a big lead, how fights should be initiated and if poking the goalie is allowed. Keith Yandle's ironman streak ended. Leaving Phil Kessel as the ironest man standing. But should we still even care about ironman streaks? Rapid fire playoff Would You Rather? Okay! The Anaheim Ducks save the New York Islanders from the Elimination Station again. So, how do the Ducks avoid Jay Beagle and return to the playoffs? Carl is back as him and Nick have a much less musical dive into the week of the NHL. Eugene Melnyk passed away this week. How will the owner of the Ottawa Senators be remembered? Evgenii Dadonov was dealt to the Anaheim Ducks. And then he wasn't. Who's to blame for the troubles? It is time for a double Elimination Station! And Nick presents a challenge: Eliminate a Central division team from the playoffs. Which of the possible teams will make it? Which leads to a renewing of our very two-sided rivalry with Jamie Benn. Aliens. They're out there. Probably. And they might watch hockey! Auston Matthews got suspended for 2 games for his cross check on Rasmus Dahlin. So, does his end his Lady Byng bid? As the Trade Deadline nears, Joe Pavelski and Rasmus Ristolainen signed extensions with the Dallas Stars and Philadelphia Flyers respectively. Josh Manson leaves the Anaheim Ducks to join the Colorado Avalanche. Is it a worthy risk for the Avs? We announce a trade deadline contest. You can enter it here: https://forms.gle/k8EWL8Vozdh3n2616 The Detroit Red Wings have avoided the Elimination Station for some time, but they can no longer. But Nick has hope for the future. With Major League Baseball in a work stoppage, we look back at previous NHL work stoppages and try to decide if it was worth it in the end. The NHL trade deadline is less than two weeks away. While it might not be a busy deadline, we look at which bubble playoff teams should be buyers or sellers and which players could be on the move. The San Jose Sharks enter the Elimination Station. With San Jose on the other side of a closed window, but with many of the same players still under contract, where can they go from here? Lastly, we pick the Pavel Bure Must Watch Games of the Week.
