Hosts Mark Segovia and Sean Ringrose close out the final episode of the season talking Houston Dynamo FC offseason, and discussing the hire of Ben Olsen to fill the Head Coach vacancy following the firing of Paulo Nagamura midway through the 2022 MLS Season. Does hiring Ben Olsen signal a shift in focus, or is this the move needed to elevate the club to the next level -- making the playoffs? The guys also discussed the World Cup groups, and who they think will win each group. You can tune into Generation Orange live on Twitch or Youtube each week, and you can follow our Twitter to get notified when we go live with our show. This week Sean Ringrose was joined by ultra-special guest co-host, Hadee Zabed. Hadee and Sean discussed Houston Dynamo interim Head Coach, Kenny Bundy, and an article posted by Dustyn Richardson on Dynamo Theory about whether Kenny Bundy is the right guy for the long-term Head Coach position. Both disagreed with Dustyn's assessment, and both offered their reasons why he is not the right guy. Also, they discuss the Houston Dash's first EVER NWSL Playoffs berth, and it is at HOME! PNC Stadium is going to be rocking, and you don't want to miss it! They talked about the Dash opponent, KC Current, and who to watch for on their team, as well as the players key for the Dash's playoff hopes. Finally, they discussed the Yates Investigation and the massive 300+ page report which dropped yesterday. They shared their individual thoughts, and offered some very heated specific opinions. Remember, you can catch Gen Orange on Wednesdays at 7:30PM Central this season. Hosts Mark Segovia and Sean Ringrose dive into the latest Houston Dash results, examining what it will take for the ladies to secure their first ever NWSL Playoffs appearance. They shared their personal pick for NWSL Goal of the Season with Maria "La Bombi" Sanchez's strike over the weekend. The guys also discussed the impact Kenny Bundy has had since becoming Interim Head Coach, and why even if the Dynamo win the remainder of their matches he should not be in serious consideration to become the next Head Coach. The Dynamo played at home against New England Revolution and demolished them 3-1, and Fafa Picault scored a well-taken PK, the team's second of the match though the first was saved. Fafa also scored a banger from the top of the box with plenty of fans calling for him to be part of the Goal of the Week nominations. It is clear Bundy has been a major part of the freeing of certain players to just let them play the game their way, and it is clear the impact putting players in positions to succeed and do what they do best has elevated to quality of the team. Pat Onstad, GM of the Houston Dynamo, said it best in an interview on Glenn Davis' show last week: "This team should have been good enough to compete for the playoff spots." Bundy has proven Pat right, and the team are proving Bundy is more than ready for the next step -- even if that next step is not as Head Coach of the Houston Dynamo FC in 2023. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/genorange/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/genorange/support
The biggest news of the week is Houston Dynamo letting go of their head coach Paulo Nagamura and two of his assistants. This is a new age of the club where mediocrity is no longer acceptable, where taking years to get it right is no longer an okay way of doing things. The guys talk deep about why this happened, why now makes a lot of sense, and why Kenny Bundy as interim coach fits what the club want to do moving forward. The guys also gave their predictions for the Houston Dynamo and Houston DynaDos matches this weekend, sponsored by Golazo.Media, your online shop for the best player likeness merch on the market. Mark and Sean talk about the Houston Dynamo and their continued struggles to produce results. The team did manage to nab a point in Colorado, and the guys talked about Mark's trip to Colorado and the level of support that showed up and showed out for the away match. The guys also talked more about their continued frustrations with Paulo Nagamura as head coach, and discuss why it is likely he returns for another season even if he shouldn't. The guys discussed the Houston Dash, including Ebony Salmon is on fire at the moment as a Dash player. The discussed the hiring and announcement of Alex Stinger as GM of the Houston Dash, and the trades bringing Valerie Gauvin and Caprice Dydasco to the team. The team don't seem content with where they are, even if they are one of the best teams in the league, and maybe their brethren counterparts could learn a thing or two from their passion and fire they play with. Finally, the guys introduced the sponsored predictions segment, brought to you by Golazo.media, home of your Houston Dynamo and Dash player resembling merch and gear. The guys, Mark Segovia and Sean Ringrose, start the show off talking about Rachel Daly and her decision to not return to the Houston Dash. The club respected her request and transferred her to Aston Villa in England, where Daly is from. They talked about the impact of such a move for this team, and if Juan Carlos Amoros, head coach of the Dash, can overcome such an important loss for the club. Then, the guys talked about the MLS All Star match and Skills Challenge, which Hector Herrera participated in -- and helped MLS to victory over Liga MX. Both hosts agreed that maybe the MLS All Star Match has no real value anymore for MLS clubs, and really even for MLS as a league. Chatters brought up that maybe Leagues Cup is a better overall entertainment and representation of the quality of play from both leagues for viewers, and maybe it should take the place of MLS All Star match. Finally, they discussed the state of Houston Dynamo, and made it clear both support #NagaOut. Both feel Naga's lost the team and the players, and there is not much hope left as far as either are concerned. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/genorange/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/genorange/support
The guys welcomed Elizabeth U, the artist who managed and coordinated the Hector Herrera mural, and Mark Segovia asked the hard-hitting questions. Mark and Sean also talked Houston Dash and Rachel Daly's latest trophy from the Women's Euro Championship, after helping England secure victory over Germany in extra time. Also, the guys shared their feelings on the Houston Dynamo FC struggles and their frustrations and pain at the 6-0 loss to Philadelphia Union on the road. What can be done? Who can be brought in? What needs to change? The guys answered these questions and more. This week's episode featured hosts Mark Segovia and Sean Ringrose talking about the intense and impressive vibe the fans brought to PNC both pre and post-match on Saturday for Hector Herrera's Dynamo debut. The Dynamo managed to claim a point against a very tough and very game FC Dallas side. The guys also discussed the frustrations from last night's loss to Austin FC, and how disrespectful it was of the players' and coach's efforts in front of such strong travelling fan support on a Tuesday evening. Questions came in asking about the youth, and what can be done before the end of the season to improve. Further questions were brought up asking whether the team should be at the point where winning is not what matters at the moment, but instead beginning the preparations for 2023. Does the rest of the season matter if the goal is to just barely make the playoffs, especially if you know you will be moving over 50% of the players on the squad elsewhere in the offseason? Finally, the guys discussed with chat about if there is a possibility out there for someone with more to offer as Head Coach than Paulo Nagamura, and the name Tata Martino was brought up. What did the guys think, and could Martino even remotely be a possibility for the struggling lowly Houston Dynamo FC? --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/genorange/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/genorange/support
Hosts Mark Segovia and Sean Ringrose discuss the woes of the Houston Dynamo form of late. The topic of the last match, a loss at home against Charlotte FC, brings about significant conversation related to the long term psychological impact on fans. Can the club find its way out of the massive hole they've dug themselves? The guys also discuss the hype from the Hector Herrera debut scheduled for Saturday, July 9th, and consider what his debut could mean, or if the impact he might have can even be enough to course correct. Finally, the guys dove into the Houston Dash, and addressed the elephant in the room of international players for NWSL, and the massive impact it has on league matches. It was announced earlier in the week that Houston Dynamo FC Designated Player and Mexican National Team player, Hector Herrera, would make an appearance at Post on July 1st in the evening. The problem? The women's team from their same club plays a match at home at PNC Stadium the same time as the announced appearance. The Houston Dash deserve better, and we as fans expect and even demand better. Mark and Sean also talk about the current state of the Houston Dash, fresh off their 4-3 thriller victory in North Carolina, and more fawning over the quality and understanding that Amoros brings to the club as the newly announced Head Coach. The two also talked Houston Dynamo, and their current frustrations with continuing to see two names on the lineup sheet every week, in Memo Rodriguez and Corey Baird. Why are those two even on the team sheet, let alone starting, at this point? They've proved nothing, and do not deserve the opportunities they're taking away from other players. Predictions and bold predictions were tossed around as well, looking ahead to the match against Chicago Fire at home on Saturday. The feeling was not strong in regard to the team's recent run of form, but hope may not be lost. If Fafa is on his way out, who do the Dynamo bring in? Could Carlos Vela be an option? We cover the latest news, rumors, while adding our own spin and flavor. This week we talked Houston Dash hiring Juan Carlos Amoros as Head Coach, who comes from La Liga with Real Betis, and before that he coached 10 years with Tottenham Hotspur helping take the Spurs Women from amateur status to top tier. Sarah Lowdon will remain as his first assistant, and has said on social media she is excited to learn alongside Amoros. We also talked about Houston Dynamo FC, and the rumors of Fafa's discontent with the direction of the team. What is the man mad about or upset with? We also discuss likely interim replacements for the wing, and who could we look at long-term. In addition, we talked the importance of the next four matches, and looked ahead to the debut of Hector Herrera on July 9th in Houston against FC Dallas for the Texas Derby. Hell of a way to debut! World Cup and the immense moment awaiting the announcement of the World Cup 2026 US host cities, one of which is Houston. We reminisced about Copamericano, and how impressive those matches were to participate in. Finally, we also shared we'll be doing a giveaway for some Houston Dynamo FC swag and merch once we hit 150 followers on Twitch or 150 followers on Youtube! The guys from Generation Orange bring you their latest episode where they talk about the Houston Dynamo loss versus FC Dallas in Frisco, Southern Oklahoma, in stoppage time. Sean also welcomed Keeper Notes, aka Jen Cooper, of The Mixxed Zone women's soccer podcast onto the show to talk about the situation with James Clarkson being suspended indefinitely pending the conclusion of the ongoing investigation dealing with complaints of discrimination, harassment, and abuse. She also discussed the Houston Dash as they open their season May 1st here in Houston at PNC Stadium.  Mark and Sean also discussed the infamous "Was it a goal?" social media post from Major League Soccer, and the lack of infrastructure to support the officials to get the call right on the pitch. They took to discussing the need for the players to provide more on the pitch, given the result in Frisco.  They looked ahead to Broccoli FC, aka Austin FC's, trip to Houston to play in PNC Stadium on Saturday in what should be a highlight affair for both Texas clubs. Can the Dynamo take the much-needed 3 points, and put themselves back into the playoffs and Copa Tejas (MLS) picture? Finally, they talked quickly about the opportunities for trades following the announcement by Atlanta United of 3 players befalling season ending injuries, and gave major props to the DynaDos team for continuing to remain winning in MLS Next Pro. DynaDos have yet to lose in MLS Next Pro, and on Saturday took down the second place team in their conference in North Texas SC. That's five straight matches for the DynaDos, and 15 points out of 15 to start their season. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/genorange/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/genorange/support

Houston Dynamo FC took on Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday, and came away with all 3 points at home. Can they repeat that performance against a much more defensively sound Colorado Rapids? Can Darwin Quintero repeat his Team of the Week performance? Can Coco Carasquilla continue to round into form as he did in week 4? We also talked predictions and BOLD predictions for the match against Colorado Rapids in Houston at PNC Stadium. Also we took some fan questions, including my personal favorite, "Which 3 Dynamo players would you want to join you in a bar fight?"  Dynamic Foxtrot joined us for a guest spot and share his thoughts as well.
