Steph, John & Dave dive into the past! This year is the 30th anniversary of the movies from… well if you’re doing the math at home or read the podcast title… 1994 – and we’ve chosen 5 of the biggest movies from that year to talk about their impact 30 years later. Talk to the hand if you don’t think it’s fly and all that, home skillet!! As if!   It’s 1994 you’re going through the newspaper, wondering what movie to see Friday night. You’ve got THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, a prison film that could make even a hardened criminal weep and long for the magic of friendship;  PULP FICTION, which would not just change movie storytelling, but would raise the bar on soundtracks, INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE – Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise camping it up as vamps! “And they were ROOMMATES!”… THE CROW, the tragic last film of Brandon Lee as well as the blueprint for every emo story afterwards; and FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL, the multi-cast comedy that led us to Love Actually! Booooo!  So check us out because we’re gonna Be Kind and Rewind this baby back to 1994!Follow us onTwitter @CraptaculusInstagram @cinemacraptaculusIntro Music: "The Builder" - Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) | Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 | http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/

The mother switches with the daughter, the son switches with the dad and the baby switches with the family dog! And it happens on the night before one of the most important days of everyone’s life – The mom (Jennifer Garner) is supposed to give a big pitch to a big client with a promotion on the line! The Daughter (Emma Myers) is supposed to play in the big soccer tournament with a scholarship on the line! The son (Brady Noon) is meeting with Yale to see if he can get into college a year or two before he graduates! And the Dad (Ed Helms) is going to play the..I don’t know…Christmas Festival? Or something for a chance to be on America’s Got Talent, I think? So the stage is set, the stakes are hight and, oh, did we mention it’s a Christmas movie as well? It’s FAMILY SWITCH! Stephanie, John & Dave pledge a sorority where they take things slow - Slothlike slow! This is the untrue story of several sorority sisters picked to live in a house and have their lives taken… Where we find out what happens when an adorable sloth with anger issues stops being polite and starts getting real. It’s SLOTHERHOUSE!!! Here's the rapid recap to catch you up! Emily Young is a college Senior who will do anything to attain her dream of becoming house president of her Sorority. But standing in her way is current president and mean girl Madison – I think it’s Madison. I didn’t really catch the name of anyone in this movie and all the Sorority sisters basically looked the same to me. So Emily does the one rational thing – she adopts a Sloth in order to win over friends and become president. But does any of that really matter? Because we’re watching a movie called SLOTHERHOUSE. There’s a Sloth, there’s a house and there’s a lot of dead bodies. Ty Freer (writer) joins John & Dave to jump into the action of Chris Hemsworth’s latest Netflix shenanigans! The Russos take off the superhero costumes and replace superhero powers with super powered guns in EXTRACTION 2! Here's the rapid recap to catch you up! At the end of EXTRACTION 1, Chris Hemsworth’s character Tyler Rake (wait, that’s really his name? Anyway…) Tyler Rake fell off a bridge and was presumed dead? Maybe. I don’t know, I didn’t see it. But he wasn’t dead! Just really injured. And they save him. Facing the possibility of hanging out in the most beautiful cabin in the most beautiful woods in the world, Tyler Rake has the need, the need for speed killing. So some guy comes in who I don’t know who he is, but I know he’s important because he’s all Nick Fury like and he has a job for Tyler Rake – a job only Tyler Rake can do – rescue a family who is living in a prison to be close to the husband who is in the prison because he’s part of some sort of eastern bloc mafia and they….are going to…– you know what, let’s get to the blowing up and the killing. Tyler Rake gets the family which starts a 2-hour chase sequence that pretty much goes, bang, bang, bang, boom, helicopters, explosions, trains, buildings, bang, boom, glass breaking, people fall, car chase, more people die, church, stab, stab, stab dead, dead, dead. This week we’re bromancing the action! At its release, it was the most expensive Indian movie to date. And you just watch the ½ hour sequence before the opening credits and you’ll instantly see why! This Telugu-language epic is based on the imaginary friendship to two of India’s revolutionaries. It’s RRR Available on Netflix, RRR cost about 72 million dollars to make and has made more than double than that in box office. Because of delays in filming due to the pandemic, the movie took years to make – but the wait was worth it! Here's a movie that PEOPLE ALSO WATCHED…America has its own tall tale hero’s and is never shy about pairing them together. From the bevy of buddy cop movies, we went to the mother of them all – TANGO AND CASH, starring Sylvester Stallone and Kurt Russell. Despite Ernest's attempts at scaring teenage son Kevin (Jahi Winston), the detached, music-obsessed teen soon finds a kindred spirit in this trapped soul from the '70s and commits to helping him.Meanwhile, Kevin's affable-yet-harsh father Frank (Anthony Mackie) looks to cash in on Ernest by turning him into a social media sensation. When Frank's video of Ernest goes viral and captures the world's attention, the family lands on the radar of Dr. Leslie Monroe (Tig Notaro), a washed-up paranormal scientist who alerts her old boss, Deputy Director Arnold Schipley of the CIA (Steve Coulter), restarting a clandestine program aimed at capturing a ghost. As crowds, reporters, and government agents descend upon the Presley home, it's up to Kevin and his sharp-witted, fellow outcast neighbor Joy (Isabella Russo) to break Ernest out, uncover the mysteries of his past, and bring him the closure he needs before it's too late.
