After spending two weeks on retreat together, Adam and I have a debrief about my teaching approach and its impact.
Recorded in August 2024. Following some experiments monitoring heart synchronisation during practice, I share more about the heart realm and a dharma that is connected to this.
In this episode I do a coaching session with Jane Miller to demonstrate how we both use imaginal journeying in our practice. The demo is a good example of how the body is made of imaginal and energetic intelligence, as much as it is made of physical cells. It also shows how much transformation can happen when you are directly connected to the imaginal layer of experience. Some of the things we talk about in the episode are:My awakening mapJane's blog post and illustrations about getting separate from energiesImaginal avatars and my description of JaneYou can watch the unedited version on YouTube.
Sam and I do some imaginal practice together and describe some different definitions of what the imaginal realm is.We then discuss how the imaginal realm is interlinked with bioelectricity, synchronicity, and more.
Ivo and I discuss the different shapes that time can take and the cultural evolution of the experience of this.
Joost and I connect on my reality and allow the psychedelic nature of reality to come forth.
Jane and I connect on an energetic level so that I can speak directly from my immediate experience for this conversation. Some of the things that emerge are living in a different paradigm, the flame being out, tantric desire, evocativeness, the organising forces of the Universe, the imaginal realm, social imaginaries, death and shamanic lifecycles and being free from anxiety.
Some of the most important things we talk about are the fractal endlessness of experience; the precision engineering of the Universe and what it means to embody that when the darkness has been included; non-duality with meaning and how that leads to a whole experience that includes the intuitive elements; how feeling and embodying aspects of experience changes the nature of how insights are perceived; and the evolution of Buddha Nature and my role in that.
We discuss how to combine therapy, meditation and tools like the Enneagram on an awakening path and why it’s important to do so. This is also a really good overview of the Enneagram for anyone who wants an introduction or to deepen their understanding of how to work with it.
Kristen and I discuss the synthesis of Buddhism and Shadow Work, as well as how humanity might evolve out of capitalism.
Recorded in Summer 2022. Bree interviewed me about my awakening experiences and some of the most important insights that emerged from them. She also shares some of her wisdom.
David spent over 18 months on retreat in a 5-year period in the Theravada Buddhist tradition. In this conversation, we cover everything from progressing along insight stages in meditation practice to the emotional turmoil that can emerge on retreat to the benefits of this kind of intensive practice.
In this episode Paul shares his journey of discovery through semiotics, meaning, French philosophers, art, spiritual practice, and more.We delve into how experience emerges from the flow between the conscious and the unconscious and how metaphor is the doorway into the unknowable. You may want to check out Paul’s diagram (or mandala) that we discuss.
Joe talks about chiropractice and we discuss a wide range of topics related to awakening the body, including describing the quantum entanglement of the body-mind-emotion system.Joe describes how most of society is stuck in a sympathetic-nervous-system dominant state, and we discuss the solutions to this.
Aidan and I delve into discussing psychedelic experience, including how people themselves can be psychedelic experiences. We talk about how to relate to the ineffable. We also discuss user experience design and how this can be applied to spiritual practice.
Joost tells the story and inspiration behind the sangha that he started, which is called the Dharmagarage, and we discuss how it has become a community for shared adventures and explorations into dharma and meditation.
A conversation about the themes that arose from our collaborative film-making process.
In this episode we talk about creativity in meditation, clarifying what success looks like to you and finding belonging.
In this four part conversation we talk about how work can be used to make life meaningful and how your career can be an opportunity to self actualise. We also bring into the conversation how this can intersect with spiritual practice and ultimately improve the world for everyone. In this first part we talk about making room for failure, the importance of knowing yourself, lego serious play  and creating a better world through meaningful work. Enjoy!
