Description

We are the 'Property people's podcast' and we want to hear from real people working in and around the property space who have something to share.

Its about promoting change, especially in matters such as diversity and inclusion, mental health programs and awareness, women in property and encouraging positive change on the whole to make our industry a better profession for everyone.

We also want to encourage new talent. There is a real shortage of people wanting to work across our industry. One of the aims of this podcast is to show that we can create an industry that can offer a career, is desirable to work in, and is moving with the times.

We want you to share some advice. Perhaps your own tips about life as well as work; it may be about career progression, planning & organisation, training, personal development, work/life balance, coping strategies, even your favorite Friday night gin recommendations, literally anything!!

Plus we want to hear stories from you, real people. This could be about what you have learned, what you have accomplished, challenges and successes, hurdles and boundaries. How you have smashed glass ceilings or not. Everyone has a story to tell and we want to tell yours.

If you would like to be involved please email nicola@broomhamrecruitment.com.

Susan Gregory joins me to talk about what kind of industry estate agency really is; is it a sales industry where we are targetted and paid to make sales or is it a customer service industry? She explains that she wants to make the industry a better place for generations in the future by fighting her case and how she thinks businesses will need to adapt and evolve by offering flexibility if they want to survive. Alice shares her thoughts on making change happen.
Megan joins me to talk about how she has embraced TickTock to communicate in a new way with her lettings audience in Reading. Megan now receives over 30,000 views for some of her videos and she shares her tips on how agents can embrace social media to build their personal brand and help clients.
Mark joins me to talk about how he is genuinely passionate about providing superb customer service in estate agency. We discuss how much better it would be for clients if everyone worked together rather than against each other.
SJ from Preston Baker joins me to talk about how it can often be easy to ignore what our bodies are telling us and feel invincible especially when we 'think' we can't any time off work. She and I discuss how good managers know when to put the pressure on and when to pull back. She also gives me her top tips for new managers.
Ian ran one of the first and largest property recruitment businesses in the UK and he joins me to talk about how things used to be and what he thinks have changed in the industry and the process. We touch on how there are different models to chose from now and that for job seekers the opportunities are much greater. Long gone are the newspaper adverts and a hot box!
Reagan joins me on the podcast to chat about the stresses and strains of working on a low basic and how despite employers offering mental health support, are they simply sticking a plaster over the real problem? We talk about the future of estate agency and what we think employers can and should be doing more of to help their people.
Chris is an ex-letting director who has also worked in the supplier side in the field of proptech. Chris joins me to talk about how there are transferable skills and how best to find your way into the other side of the property business.
In this podcast, Claire talks in detail about the sexual assault she was subjected to in her estate agency career, how she hid it from everyone including herself and why she wants everyone to look out for their team members to ensure this doesn't happen again. We discuss the shocking statistics surrounding the topic and how we think things need to change. This is a tough listen but an important one, especially for business owners and leaders.
Roy Fever joins me to share our experiences as business owners and how it can be really hard to be the person at the top, on your own. We also talk about business plans and whether they are really needed or actually just setting ourselves up for disappointment and unrealistic KPIs. We touch on lessons learned on covid too and how we are all grown-ups.
Jonathan Handford joines me to talk about his meeting the Bank of England where they discuss the various markets and the realisation that the housing market has been very lucky.
