Snow Camps believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to thrive, no matter their background. As a UK charity, they use the power of snowsports to support young people from underserved communities with life skills training, mental health support, qualifications and mentorship.They work nationwide to break down barriers, build confidence and create brighter futures – all through the transformative experience of the snow.Dan Charlish is the Founder and CEO of Snow Camp, the UK’s only national youth snowsports charity. Since 2003, he has led Snow Camp from a small London project to a national charity that has supported more than 23,000 young people to date. Team Up is one of a number of programs and activities driving the Australian Government’s implementation of the Sports Diplomacy 2032+ strategy that support sporting organisations, athletes and the Pacific community through sport. It delivers on one of the key priorities of the strategy by using sport as a tool to strengthen communities across the Asia-Pacific. Team Up works closely with the Australian Government’s elite sports program, PacificAus Sports .Team Up is a sport for development program comprising more than 35 partnerships across the Asia-Pacific that are working towards three outcomes:Sport programs attract and retain women, girls and people with a disability, as well as men and boysSport organisations are safe, inclusive and accessibleAustralia and Asia-Pacific partners use sport to strengthen relationships and build closer collaborationThese three outcomes all contribute to Team Up’s overall goal: Australia-Asia-Pacific sport partnerships support all people to realise their full potential through sport.Andrew Lepani is the Team Leader and is a firm believer in the power of sport as an enabler for human development and as a common platform to facilitate friendship, Andrew has been lucky enough to be involved in sport and sport for development work in various capacities as an athlete, administrator, volunteer and educator.His professional career has allowed him to be exposed to the work of development partners and the global sporting movement, which has increased his appreciation for human and environmental rights and their intersection with sport.Links:Team Up: https://www.teamup.gov.au/---- Please subscribe to the Sports for Social Impact Podcast wherever you get your podcast! Judo Golovec is a grassroots, community-based judo organisation based in Slovenia. Founded to promote judo as more than just a sport, the club focuses on education, personal growth, and building a supportive community through the practice of judo. Špela Lampe, is the President of Judo Golovec. With over two decades of experience in project management, her career spans business, global events, NGOs, and university environments. For the past ten years, she has dedicated her work to the NGO and grassroots sports sector, where she champions judo as a powerful tool for personal development, empowerment, and community building. Kıizlar Sahada is a community-focused initiative dedicated to empowering women and girls through sport and active participation in football. The organization creates inclusive spaces where individuals can engage in athletic activities, fostering teamwork, leadership, and personal growth. By promoting the values of equality, resilience, and community, Kizlar Sahada aims to inspire confidence and solidarity among its members.Kiraz’s journey in civil society began during her psychology studies at Uludağ University, where she joined AIESEC and developed a passion for social impact. After graduating, she moved to the UK, volunteering at Oxfam and earning a master’s in International Human Resources Management with a focus on corporate social responsibility and diversity. Her research was presented at international conferences, and she later worked at Comic Relief Headquarters.Returning to Türkiye in 2011, she applied her expertise in sustainability, gender equality, and leadership in corporate roles until 2018.
