On today’s episode I am talking with in-the-trenches homemaker, Alexis Molnar. She is wife to Eric and homeschooling mama to their two children. Alexis shares her journey from working girl to stay-at-home mom, to eventually letting go of her part-time gig and focusing all her efforts on homemaking and homeschooling. Eric lost his job late last year and that was the catalyst for starting his own business. Alexis openly shares how God is teach her to trust Him despite the fears that can come with a single-income, entrepreneurial family life. As usual we talk about priorities, expectations, fails, wins and we geek out together over our love of air fryers.HOMEMAKING RESOURCESFree Weekly Newsletter, Homemaker Happy MailNewsletter ArchiveFree Audio Version and Study Guide for JR Miller's "Homemaking"Listen to the Audio of the book in our 2022 Summer Reading SeriesGet Your Free Study GuideSUPPORT & CONNECT WITH USLeave Us A ReviewLove The Podcast (works on any device)Stay In Touch with The Art of Home Podcast Leave Us a VoicemailInstagram | Facebook |Pinterest |  Website | Email  Follow The Art of Home on Your Listening AppFollow The Podcast (works on any device)Support The Art of Home (detailed instructions for sharing, reviewing and tipping)Join Summer Reading Facebook GroupSupport the show
Today we are diving DEEP into design in the home! Joining me for this discussion are Dana Schamberger and Dani Hamilton. Both of these women have so much wisdom and practical suggestions to share about design in the home. Dana has been designing and dealing in antiques all of her adult life and Dani pursued her degree in design at the famous Rhode Island School of Design, worked for Martha Stewart and for Anthropology. Currently, she balances caring for 3 young boys with graphic design work at her church and through her own design business. When it comes to design, these women know their stuff. But more importantly, they know and love Jesus. Their hearts desire is to use their homes to reflect the beauty of their savior and foster the growth and discipling of their families.Topics Covered:Why design matters in the homeHow design affects the 4 Pillars of HomemakingDesign DelmasThrifty Design: Goodwill, Estate Sales and AuctionsPersonal Approaches to Design Common Design PitfallsRESOURCES:Mentioned in this EpisodeEstateSales.NetDana's Favorite Old School Decorating Book, Better Homes and Gardens Decorating Book, 1968HOMEMAKING RESOURCESFree Weekly Newsletter, Homemaker Happy MailNewsletter ArchiveFree Audio Version and Study Guide for JR Miller's "Homemaking"Listen to the Audio of the book in our 2022 Summer Reading SeriesGet Your Free Study GuideSUPPORT & CONNECT WITH USLeave Us A ReviewLove The Podcast (works on any device)Stay In Touch with The Art of Home Podcast Leave Us a VoicemailInstagram | Facebook |Pinterest |  Website | Email  Follow The Art of Home on Your Listening AppFollow The Podcast (works on any device)Support The Art of Home (detailed instructions for sharing, reviewing and tipping)Join Summer Reading Facebook GroupSupport the show

I am diving into the first pillar of homemaking, Identity, with my good friend, author, speaker and podcaster, Susan Macias. This deep dive is the first in a series on Four Pillars of Homemaking: Identity, Values & Priorities, Rhythms & Routines, and Community. We are going to contrast what God has to say about identity with what the world has to say about where to find your identity. Then we will look at some common identity thieves—things homemakers may be tempted to look to for identity and how to avoid falling into those traps.RESOURCESPillars of Homemaking Intro and Overview, 2nd Birthday Episode, S11:E6Susan's Homemaker Portrait, S1:E6Connect with SusanWebsite, susankmacias.comPodcast, We're Not Done YetPutting Jesus On; My Identity DevotionalNEW BOOK! Finding Home, Releasing Fall 2023 Episode Mentions & QuotesNone Like Him, and  In His Image by Jen WilkinDwell Scripture Listening AppYouVersion Bible App with audio optionsC.S. In today’s show, I am chatting with in-the-trenches homemaker, Kelly Gundersen. Our in the trenches category includes homemakers who have been practicing more than 5 but less than 25 years. They are past the newlywed stage and are working through how to prioritize marriage amidst a houseful of kids, schooling, activities, their husband’s career, and more. Life is busy and demands their constant attention in this stage. Kelly is no exception, but her approach to this busy season is refreshing. Here’s a hint, it requires boundaries based on her family’s values and intentionality to thrive within those boundaries.HOMEMAKING RESOURCESFree Weekly Newsletter, Homemaker Happy MailNewsletter ArchiveFree Audio Version and Study Guide for JR Miller's "Homemaking"Listen to the Audio of the book in our 2022 Summer Reading SeriesGet Your Free Study GuideLeave Us A ReviewLove The Podcast (works on any device)Stay In Touch with The Art of Home Podcast Leave Us a VoicemailInstagram | Facebook |Pinterest |  Website | Email  Follow The Art of Home on Your Listening AppFollow The Podcast (works on any device)Support The Art of HomeBuy Me a Coffee ☕️Support the show
