Description

“Life Is What Happens When You’re Making Other Plans” - Allen Saunders.
True statement, but at what point do we decide that we have relinquished too much control to “life?” Most people spend their lives meeting the immediate (and often overwhelming) demands of parenting, relationships, and livelihood…much like riding in a life-powered bobsled…leaning into what others expect of them, believe of them -- essentially setting the bar where “life” has set it. In the process, they lose sight of their core values, let alone finding the joy that comes with living them.

Join Rikki and her expert guests on My Turn Life Coaching and reclaim your life. Through her personal stories, views, and philosophies, Rikki hopes to provide her listeners with a taste of her coaching style so they may safely decide if her program is right for them without risk or discomfort. Keeping up with the demands that come with maintaining functioning families, relationships, and careers, can be overwhelming.

Rikki wants to ask the listeners to start every day by asking themselves “At my memorial service, what do I want folks to say was my passion and my purpose?”, and then to help get them there. Rikki uses her life coaching training experience, coupled with expert guests on her show, to embolden listeners to raise their hands and say “It’s. My. Turn.”

COVID has injected fear, uncertainty and trauma in nearly everyone alive. And for many of us, it has left us feeling numb. That's because so many of us are experiencing "incomplete stress cycles", which results in a mind/body disconnect. Find out why this award-winning and internationally-acclaimed communication model is known as the "tool to make a daily difference." A key to mental fitness is to weaken the "Internal Saboteurs" that cause all your stress, anxiety, self-doubt, frustration, regret, shame, guilt, and unhappiness. In response to this phenomenon, Stanford and Yale faculty member, and prior Chairman of the Coaches Training Institute (CTI), Shirzad Chamine, created what he calls the Saboteur Assessment tool, and used it as the basis for his NY Times Best Selling book Positive Intelligence . Anu, a CTI coach herself, studied the Saboteur tool as part of Chirzad s Positive Intelligence Program, and it has since become one of her core coaching tools.
No matter (or often because of) our upbringing, education and life experiences, we all have a tendency to impose (and then foster) boundaries around who we are and who can we be...maybe even who we should be. Inevitably, these boundaries will turn into powerful barriers to pursuing a purpose-driven life. In this episode, my guest Harry Lamberton will share his personal life experiences pushing through these constraints, in order to discover untapped interests, skills, and talents...and illustrating how that built a pathway to the unparalleled joy and pride that comes from saying "WILL" to "CAN T".
Jeff's Nishwitz's book, Just One Step: Walking Backwards to the Present on the Camino Trail, describes in poignant detail how he used his own very personal adventure, hiking 200 miles down the Camino Trail, to discover how he had unintentionally trapped himself into a life-rut, and that the only way to escape it was to (figuratively and literally) walk backwards for the last 7 days of his hike.
Join author Jeff Nischwitz's and I as we discuss his book Unmask: Let Go of Who You're Supposed to Be Unleash Your True Leader, where he unveils what he calls LIVINGSHIP - a new way of living, thinking and leading in every part of your personal and professional life. We're going to talk about CHOICES and how they relate to self-leadership. If you're ready to unmask the "old you", and choose to lead and live from a place of authenticity....you're ready for this show!
