Detours: The Misguided Tour Through Single Woman & Motherhood

In this episode, I’m speaking on how the documentary, “Keep This Between Us,” which follows a young woman who had a relationship with her high school teacher, triggered memories and similarities, involving manipulation and wanting to feel protected by your partner.  We all should know by now that secret relationships, although they sound good, never really benefit anyone. 

Y’all remember when men used to have a rebuttal for women and say, “Y’all were in a polyamorous relationship; You didn’t know it, though.” And many women replied, “Bet.” That whole concept defeats the purpose of the word poly—honesty is involved.  And not only did women learn to date multiple men, multiple genders became involved for some.  

What we allow & tolerate all comes down to one thing: self-respect. In this episode, DQ talks about how to avoid losing your own self-respect due to temporary feelings, thought, or emotions

In this episode, DQ takes a real look into what type of person she’s looking for. The experiences we’ve had in the past shape our future in terms of relationships. Being honest with yourself about what you are really looking for, could save you some gas during detours.
