A Leader's Voice w/ Guest Willie Brown, Advocate For Prison ReformMr.Willie Brown is a Richmond, Virginia resident, and Returning Citizen after serving 35 years and 11 months in the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Corrections. Since being released November 30, 2018, he has spoken at a Prison Reform Rally, advocated and spoken in support of Bills at the State General Assembly for the incarcerated, and has advocated with family members at Parole Interviews on behalf of their loved ones confined. He is currently a part of a newly formed Criminal Justice Committee formed by Brenda Cole's Brown, the President of the Richmond, VA Chapter for The National Action Network organization. Mr. Brown has participated in a webinar panel discussion about his experiences in prison and the parole board process for the Day of Empathy and #Cut50 hosted by Karen Morrison.He has been discharged from parole supervision as ofMarch 27, 2020, and is focused on working with others who are dedicated to serving the oppressed, poor, and disadvantaged, of the incarcerated and non- incarcerated.Mr. Brown feels In regards to Freedom, Justice, and Equality in a broken and corrupt system.
