Pit Pass Indy Presented by Penske Truck Rental Show host Bruce Martin has a preview of this weekend’s IndyCar $1 Million Challenge at the Thermal Club near Palm Springs, California with two-time NTT IndyCar Series champion and 2018 Indianapolis 500 winning driver Will Power and Josef Newgarden’s engineer Luke Mason.
Although this weekend’s contest at The Thermal Club is not a championship points paying event, there’s a lot of pride and money on the line in this special All-Star Race race that features elimination rounds culminating with a 12-car Main Event in the “Dash for Cash.”

Pit Pass Indy Presented by Penske Truck Rental Show host Bruce Martin has an impressive list of guests from the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, the season opening race for the 2024 NTT IndyCar Series. Guests include two-time IndyCar Series champion and 2023 Indianapolis 500 winner Josef Newgarden, who won on the streets of St. Petersburg for the third time in his career on March 10.
Also, we take a deep dive into the HBO Documentary “The Lionheart” – the story of the late Dan Wheldon, who was killed in a horrific crash at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in 2011 and how 10 years later, his sons Sebastian and Oliver follow in his father’s footsteps with racing careers of their own. Producer/Director Laura Brownson along with producers Chapman and Maclain Way and Susie Wheldon join us for exclusive interviews.

PIT PASS INDY – SEASON 4, EPISODE 5 – Roger Penske and Josef Newgarden Get Their “Baby Borgs’ For Winning the 107th Indianapolis 500

Pit Pass Indy Show host Bruce Martin has exclusive interviews with Roger Penske and Josef Newgarden as both men received their “Baby Borg” Trophies for winning the 2023 Indianapolis 500 in a special ceremony at The Henry Ford in Dearborn, Michigan on January 23, 2024.
Penske was the winning team owner of the 2023 Indianapolis 500. His latest “Baby Borg” Trophy is for a record-extending 19 Indianapolis 500 victories as a team owner. Newgarden was the winning driver of the 107th Indianapolis 500 on May 28, 2023, and picked up his first “Baby Borg.”
Five days later, Newgarden was part of a four-driver effort that won the 2024 Rolex 24 at Daytona IMSA Sports Car race. The other drivers on the team were Felipe Nasr, Dane Cameron and Matt Campbell.
It was team owner Penske’s first Rolex 24 win since 1969.

PIT PASS INDY – SEASON 4, EPISODE 4 – Graham Rahal’s thoughts on IndyCar, the NFL, and College Football

Pit Pass Indy Show host Bruce Martin has an exclusive interview with Graham Rahal of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing.
Rahal is attempting to rebound from a disappointing season in 2023 when he was bumped out of the 33-driver starting lineup for the 107th Indianapolis 500 by one of his teammates at the time, Jack Harvey. Rahal would later be in the starting lineup as a replacement driver for the injured Stefan Wilson at Dreyer & Reinbold Racing/Cusick Motorsports.
Rahal rebounded later in the season to win the pole and finish second at the Gallagher Grand Prix on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course on August 12. He won another pole two races later at Portland for the September 3 race.
Rahal is also an avid Ohio State football fan and gives his thoughts on what the Chicago Bears should do with former Buckeye quarterback Justin Fields. The Bears have the first pick in the NFL Draft. Also, Rahal gives his thoughts on bitter rival Michigan winning the National Championship in the College Football Playoff.

Pit Pass Indy show host Bruce Martin has an exclusive interview with Team Penske Engineer Ben Bretzman. As 2024 is underway, teams are preparing for the start of the 2024 season in the Firestone Grand Prix of St. Petersburg on March 10.
Bretzman is Scott McLaughlin’s race engineer and plays a key role in the engineering department for the three-car IndyCar operation that also includes two-time IndyCar Series Champion and 2018 Indianapolis 500 winner Will Power and two-time IndyCar Series champion and 2023 Indy 500 winner Josef Newgarden.

PIT PASS INDY – SEASON 4, EPISODE 1 – Remembering the great Gil de Ferran and the legendary Cale Yarborough

Pit Pass Indy pays tribute to two racing giants in the opening episode for 2024.
Gil de Ferran, who won back-to-back CART Championships in 2000 and 2001 and was the winner of the 2003 Indianapolis 500 for Team Penske, suffered a massive heart attack and died on Friday, December 29 in Opa-Locka, Florida. He was 56 years old.
NASCAR Cup Series legend Cale Yarborough died on Sunday, December 31. The four-time Daytona 500 winner, three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion and four-time Indianapolis 500 starter was 84.
Show host Bruce Martin has an exclusive interview with Team Penske Special Project Manager Jon Bouslog as we pay tribute to Gil de Ferran.
Later in the show, Martin has a special tribute to Cale Yarborough on Pit Pass Indy.
