GameStop, a Fortune 500 company headquartered in Grapevine, Texas, is a digital-first omni-channel retailer, offering games and entertainment products in over 5,000 brick-and-mortar stores and a comprehensive e-commerce property set across 10 countries. GameStop was also the center of attention for the beginning of 2021 as the media called focused on $GME (GameStop’s stock) through its meteoric rise from $4 a share to over $400 a share, ranging widely between those two numbers and ultimately declining in what some are calling a “pump and dump” scheme.Read and comment on this story: https://den.social/l/lbty/a3nOIi78aJ/the-gamestop-fiasco/ Follow the author on Twitter: https://twitter.com/XaidinCrypto Subscribe to the LBTY Lair on Den.social: https://den.social/l/lbty About the Author: I am a final semester law student who has focused their studies on financial restructuring, FinTech, corporate, and securities law. The first Borat was made back in 2006 and started the wave of mocking cultures and insulting countries. Despite the blatant anti-Semitism and sexist remarks of the first film, it received great praise in the United States for its originality. It was purposely meant to be a joke, as a majority of critics agreed that it was a phenomenal social experiment that made audiences laugh at their ignorance. However, the film was banned in Kazakhstan, where Borat is supposedly from, as an extreme offense of stereotyping negative and untrue aspects of the country. Borat represents a Kazakhstan where women have absolutely no power and must submit to men, where people are uneducated buffoons who hate Jews and deny the existence of the Holocaust, and where people openly accept the horrible roles of society, such as the “Village Rapist.” Kazakhstan hated Borat, but Americans loved him.About the Author: My name is Charles but people in crypto call me smokie. While I am legitimately obsessed about cryptocurrency, I am in college for Media and Film with a strong focus in Cultural Criticism and Ancient Philosophy. It seems the two work together like Ketchup and Mayo.
The Eurovision Song Contest has been an annual presentation and competition of national songs since May 24, 1956 and is broadcasted on television throughout Europe. Since 1967 the festival has also been broadcasted in countries outside of Europe. Furthermore, the festival can be followed live on the internet every year by anyone. The contest is spread over three nights over a week-long period with two semi finals and one grand finale. All the participating countries have their own national selection process to settle on which artist may represent their country for the upcoming year. Read and comment on the story: https://den.social/l/lbty/E20D5mfvvq/russia-s-manizha-refuses-to-be-broken-by-xenophobia-and-misogyny/ ‘Some people even wish me death. They hope that my plane to Rotterdam will crash next month. That really goes beyond all limits. When I read all those messages, I just wanted to sit in the corner and cry. But that's exactly what they want. You know, I don't want to read too many of these kinds of messages. With that I give those reactions too much power. I now mainly try to focus on the people who do support me. My team, my friends, my fans.’ Manizja wants to show her fans that it is important to show that she does not succumb to the pressure. Despite the hate reports, official investigations, and threats, she wants to go to the Eurovision Song Contest at all costs.

In 1947, when colonization ended and the British left the sub-continent (part of South Asia), two new countries, India and Pakistan, were created on the basis of religion. Kashmir, which was a princely state in 1947, has since been disputed between India and Pakistan. Unlike most of the other princely states who joined India or Pakistan, Kashmir (and Jammu) initially remained independent. Both India and Pakistan claim Kashmir as their integral part. Nearly three conventional wars have been fought between two nuclear-armed countries on the unresolved matter of Kashmir. In 1948, the United Nations passed UNSC resolution 38 on the status of Kashmir which urged both countries to have a free and fair plebiscite in Kashmir, and to let the people of Kashmir decide their future; whether they want to join India or Pakistan, or to be independent. The NFT artwork illustrates the story and the buyer supports more LBTY stories. Afghanistan was under the iron rule of the Taliban when Al-Qaeda attacked US embassies in East Africa in 1998. In response to this the Clinton administration launched an attack using cruise missiles – known as Operation Infinite Reach – on Al-Qaeda training camps in Afghanistan. Thus the American war on Afghan soil was waged first in 1998, and then executed with full wrath after 9/11 when the Taliban refused to hand over Bin Laden and other leaders of Al-Qaeda to the US. The Bush administration used this opportunity to invade Afghanistan and keep an eye on friends and foes in the region. The NFT artwork illustrates the story and the buyer supports more LBTY stories. Many unilateral executive orders were recklessly signed by Trump without any regard for international concerns. Global trade, diplomacy, and politics were surrounded by an aura of unpredictability during Trump’s regime. Whether it was a trade war with China or the heedless killing of the top Iranian general, Qasem Soleimani, America’s friends and foes remained in shock. However, hopes for the return to normalcy and multilateralism are now evident around the world. The majority of people are optimistic about the global future now that President Biden is in office. Angel Gurria, Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) believes the same: he said, “I think the fact that the future president of the U.S. is putting multilateralism front and center and is saying that the question of climate is going to be a priority, that the question of biodiversity is going to be a priority, is extremely encouraging, extremely promising, and I would say that we all have to contribute to make it work.” It is now believed that the world will pursue a common goal together with Biden. The NFT artwork illustrates the story and the buyer supports more LBTY stories. This revolution of technological advancement is so abundant, familiar, and well-known that describing it too much would be redundant, to the point of boredom. The Information Age has completely shifted the entire paradigm of communications and relations between all people in our world and their governments, creating both a relative closeness and a complete divide all at once. Sometimes this shift in communications comes with grey areas and drawbacks that many of the people who founded our world’s governments couldn't have foreseen or understood. These murky situations are a hot debate among many politicians, scholars, and citizens to the point of hostility in most social circles. The NFT artwork illustrates the story and the buyer supports more LBTY stories. It was created to prevent wars and bring tranquility to the world and enhance the integration of the world. However, a number of UN-mandated aspirations are still unfulfilled. Even after its creation there are still wars, violence, retributions, and ugliness all around. Due to so many structural flaws in the United Nations it has failed to play an unbiased and equitable role. Powerful countries and big financers have used the platform to further their vested interests; whereas the plights of millions of innocent people in war-torn countries go unheard. The NFT artwork illustrates the story and the buyer supports more LBTY stories. Recently, South Africa has announced it will inoculate its citizens with COVID-19 doses. The country has hardly managed to secure 20 million vaccines for its 60 million population. Because of its huge population, the South African government is unable to immunize every person with this limited consignment. The poor decision of the South African government made it crystal clear that widespread COVID-19 immunization is uncertain for its pandemic-stricken population. The NFT artwork illustrates the story and the buyer supports more LBTY stories. Authorities had recently clamped down on large gatherings, so protest leaders encouraged their support base to convene in smaller groups at designated meeting points (Al Jazeera). The many thousands still willing to turn out every Sunday face the prospect of police brutality and incarceration; they do so in the name of democracy - and more specifically, to contend a fraudulent election result in August that saw President Lukashenko re-elected for his sixth term with 80.10% of the official vote.Sitting President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko had previously authorized the Belarusian security forces to use lethal force against opposition protesters, according to a new released tape of the country’s deputy interior minister captured by the organization “By_Pol.” The tape originates from October 2020 and on January 14 2021 was made public, fueling new criticism by Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, who ran against Lukashenko in an election last August, and said the voice in the recording was that of a senior interior ministry official. Officials do not confirm the authenticity of the tape. The tape also revealed plans to build “resettlement” camps for the indefinite resettlement of persons who have repeatedly taken part in the protests. Additionally the tape confirms that the special forces mortally wounded a protester in Minsk on the day after the 2020 presidential elections. The NFT artwork illustrates the story and the buyer supports more LBTY stories. Over one million ethnic Rohingyas live in the restive Rakhine state of Myanmar. They are bearing the brunt of prolonged warfare and persecution. They have faced decades of religious discrimination, hatred, and targeted violence that has equally compelled men and women, young and old, and girls and boys to flee from Myanmar into neighboring Bangladesh for their survival. Due to uninterrupted violence, persecution, and scores of attacks they faced in 1978, 1991–1992, and then since 2017, Rohingyas are taking refuge in Bangladesh. To save their lives from systemic discrimination in Myanmar nearly 900,000 ethnic Rohingyas, including 400,000 children, have already rushed into the largest refugee camps of Bangladesh. The NFT artwork illustrates the story and the buyer supports more LBTY stories. That relationship — negligible from its onset — strained even more over the next 46 years, which sent the world into panic as the two global superpowers flexed their muscles at each other in bouts of verbal jousting, less-than-covert indulgence in localized conflicts around the globe, and missiles crises on two separate continents. This Cold War ended with the fall of the Berlin wall in 1989 and the dissolution of the USSR in 1991, but the tension of that great tussle remains to this day. The scars of conflict between the two nations continue to play a role in not only the diplomatic strategies of the leadership of this generation, but also the involvement of the leaders in locations bearing literal scars of their entanglements. As such, the relations between these two countries can be described as a roller-coaster of emotion, speculation, accusation, acceptance, and disarray. The NFT artwork illustrates the story and the buyer supports more LBTY stories. Government forces have been engaged in a violent struggle with the dissident regional Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF) party for two months, starting on November 4th of 2020. According to the TPLF, which ruled Ethiopia between 1991 and 2018, they are engaged in a fundamental fight for their right to self-determination against an invading force and will not give up. Recent reports from humanitarian organizations highlighted potential human rights abuses and war crimes. Fresh eyewitness accounts paint a desperate picture of suffering, inadequate medical supplies, fuel shortages and power cuts. Only on December 28 banks in Mekelle’s Ethiopia reopened again. Several thousand have died and many more have been displaced since the beginning of the hostilities on 4 November. The NFT artwork illustrates the story and the buyer supports more LBTY stories. The territory is culturally significant to both nations. So much so, that the neighboring states have been tussling over it for nearly three decades. The latter half of this year witnessed the most intense fighting in the region since the First Nagorno-Karabakh War (1992-94). The collapse of the USSR in 1991 sent shock waves reverberating around the world, notably in the Caucasus. Nagorno-Karabakh had been an autonomous province with a regional parliament since 1921. Yet, in the post-Soviet period, its electorate - dominated by ethnic Armenians - voted overwhelmingly in favor of uniting with Armenia, which many perceived as the ancestral homeland. Azerbaijan blocked Armenian attempts to annex the region and a bloody 2-year war ensued. The Armenians – underpinned by Russian military support – ultimately prevailed. In the ceasefire agreement of 1994 they consolidated their control over Nagorno-Karabakh and an additional 14% of surrounding Azeri territory (Eurasianet). From this point, although Nagorno-Karabakh remained a nominally independent republic, it is openly backed by Armenia and a deep tension has characterized Azerbaijani-Armenian relations ever since. From 2015, the International Crisis Group recorded 292 incidents along the Line of Contact (LoC), a border separating Nagorno-Karabakh and Azerbaijan. Outbreak of WarTensions flared up again in July when border forces skirmished in Tovuz, over 100 miles north of Nagorno-Karabakh. Soon after, nationalist demonstrators flocked to Azerbaijan’s capital, Baku, and pressured the government into a full-blown declaration of war on 27 September. His victims? Depressed, lonely and suicidal women sharing their thoughts on Twitter. In Japan, more people died from suicide in October 2020 than from Covid in all of 2020. And women have been impacted most. This tragedy is part of a long overdue debate on how best to tackle Japan’s rapidly escalating suicide rate, which is one of the highest rates of any developed nation in the world. Japan is also notorious for a condition called hikikomori – characterized by people acutely withdrawing from society – and for the social stigma, which has strong roots in established cultural traditions, that continues to surround mental health issues. The NFT artwork illustrates the story and the buyer supports more LBTY stories. Since 2014, the Chinese government’s response to the potential threat of terrorism has seen a rapid escalation from drafting policy, to propaganda campaigns, and then to the extrajudicial detainment of over one million Turkic Muslims, mainly Uyghurs, in over 300 detainment or ‘re-education’ centers. A significant amount of evidence points to nothing less than a cultural genocide (although we use the term reservedly) which has been ongoing for at least five years, and this can no longer be ascribed to a need to quell a potential terrorist threat in North Western China. The punishment has long since outweighed the crime, or threat thereof.Subscribe to the LBTY Lair on Den:https://den.social/l/lbtyRead this story on China in the LBTY Lair: https://den.social/l/lbty/Ci6RvvgGaW/%E2%80%98re-education-centers-and-forced-labor-china-s-mistreatment-of-the-uyghurs/Buy the NFT artwork illustrating the story and support LBTY.
